Got braces at 17 and had to pay for them myself. I had a 110% over bite, three large gaps on top, two adult teeth stuck in the roof of my mouth, and two impacted wisdom teeth. As a result I wore braces 4 years with oral surgery to attach the dreaded chains to bring in the adult teeth had wisdom teeth removed. I refused the jaw breaking and instead used rubber bands to bring my jaw into the right position where it's been ever since. Plus I lost my only retainer.

I have no opinion on the coffee cup either way. Starbucks is getting rich making their customers obese and I don't drink coffee or cappuccino or lattes or anything else they serve. I do have an opinion on this thread calling all individuals WITH thoughts feelings and opinions opposite OPs asinine dumb stupid unintelligent and backwards but I'm sure I'm in the wrong thread. To me, the media source is to blame for scraping such sludge off the bottom of the barrel, calling it journalism, and using it to indoctrinate viewers.

I thought it was a great episode even if it was run of the mill. Not every episode can or needs to be mind blowing. I actually like only having one or two epic episodes per season. Generally there needs to be something big happen in the middle somewhere, but otherwise I'm fine with only a season finale being the big epic. Otherwise jumping the shark becomes a real threat. Expectations get too high and inevitably viewers are disappointed more often than they should be. Season five tried too hard if you ask me. I've enjoyed the basic episodes like this one much more than the epic ones. I don't have anything against larger story arch episodes unless they feel really manufactured instead of naturally occuring.

Ha! Fun episode. I liked it alot. LOVED the Bob Ross references and the Doc and Marty references made my eyes pop out. Very appropriate for this year. Everypony was on point in terms of personality and I like that they made Spike the voice of wisdom early on. It's clear that Discord is at a pre-k level when socially interacting in an un-evil and civil way. Overall, very entertaining and kept me wondering what the moral was up to the very end, which was rushed, but not a drawback. Thumbs up.

movies/tv Why can't my generation and the new generation watch black and white movies?
Lexamena replied to TheMarkz0ne's topic in Media Discussion
I don't like B&W movies and but not because of the lack of color but because of the acting and storytelling style. With the exception of Psycho and many of the Twilight Zone episodes. And Three Stooges, I know not movies but still much more enjoyable than most B&W films. -
Is this like that weird phenomenon that occurs like right when you start a new job, like all the people that work there are fun and badass but soon they start quitting one at a time, and then before you know it, you're the badass fun person to all the lame new people and it kinda sucks from then on? I hate when that happens. I love this forum so far. I have been on some drama llama snarky ass forums and some doucher I'm better than you forums and I actually really really like this one. Hope everyone stays forever.

am I the only person that just.. watches.. the show?
Lexamena replied to Chronamut's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I am like a baby brony, er, pegasister I mean. Like a lil' bronyette. I watch the show and even do little critiques each week but it's really just barely dipping a toe into the fandom, imo. I don't have much merchandise, a blind bag here n there but that's it. I would certainly buy culture tees or socks if I happen to run into it and it was cheap but I don't go out looking it. I'm big on nostalgia so I like to get a few little things. I could be a hoarder so I am careful what I buy. Still a bronyette tho.- 69 replies

Excellent episode. Lots of cute little extras as usual. Loved loved loved pinkies retro costume the most. She wasn't overly too obnoxious which is better than it has been. I didn't see the leak which hate I spoilers so I'm glad I didn't. I was really entertained. Tho I will say granny smith is pissing me off. She's getting really overbearing and acting like she doesn't give a shit about anyone's feelings lately. Overall great Halloween episode. I wanna go back and watch the other Halloween episodes now too.

S04:E01+02 - Princess Twilight Sparkle
Lexamena replied to Yellow Diamond's topic in Season 4 Discussion
When I see Luna raise the moon to eclipse then sun at the very end of pt 1, it makes me remember how awesome it is that the moon can eclipse the sun at all considering how the sun is 400 times larger than the moon. But since it's also 400 times farther away, they appear the same size in our sky. It's just one of those amazing coincidences of nature. This was actually a great episode and Discord was extremely entertaining. It has tons of little visual details that I love. With the exception Twilight being a princess at all, the story was good. Edit. Also, Twicane! -

Definitely The Imprisoned and Ghirahim from Skyward Sword. Mainly due to the crappy wiimote controls that were too sensitive.

Are Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz offensive?
Lexamena replied to ggg-2's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I would not say that the characterization of them is offensive, that they're similar to Amish. That's perfectly fine. What I would say could be offensive (to the Amish, if in fact they were intended to appear Amish, or really any fundamentalist or "old fashioned" or even just religious family) is the fact that their lifestyle and traditions were portrayed as being boring, disappointing, unacceptable, and in dire need of transformation. -
So maybe this is stating the obvious and perhaps it has already been noted somewhere on the boards. But does anyone think the name Maud Pie was purposely chosen because it is so close to sounding like mud pie? And mud pies obviously come from playing in the dirt with rocks, etc? That has always struck me as an interesting choice of name considering the family background.

The episode was eh. I was completely caught by surprise and put off by the holiday episode right here before Halloween. I like the suggestion of saving it for Christmas time and watching it then. Maybe discovery will replay it during that time. I didn't care for the premise at all. I think it could be offensive to families who might identify in any small way with the pie family. To me, granny smith was making fun of them to their faces in a couple of scenes. I personally don't like it when one type of family or identity is portrayed as being sub-par. The pie family's traditions were clearly made drab, boring, and unacceptable which using that as a way to insult a fundamentalist type of identity (which is generally considered religious) is just a cheap shot. Even if the moral is that the Apples were in the wrong, it doesn't matter, the damage is already done. I think the writers should rise above that and have come up with better premise. Applejack certainly should have been ashamed and so should Hasbro and the writers. And the climax at the end having to do with the boulder seemed oddly placed and forced as the quick resolution of a new shared tradition. Also, limestone pie was gilda's voice which drove me nuts. I do think Marble pie was adorable and I also don't want to see kissing cousins but I know it is absolutely inevitable. Ready for the next episode, this one was forgettable.

How much did you hate middle school?
Lexamena replied to Metallic Strings's topic in General Discussion
Hatd it. Didn't have many friends and certainly not o boyfriend. 7th grade dragged on for eternity, making 8th grade fly by in the blink of an eye, and then 9th grade I was back at the bottom as a freshman. But I think 7th grade made 8th grade the first time I started gaining a grasp on how precious time is and how short months and years can truly be. Since then Ive gone from 13 to 36 before I even knew it. -
I was so happy to see the mane 6 back together finally after weeks and weeks of specialty episodes! I missed them interacting together. I love how their color palettes compliment each other, so that when they're in a scene together it looks so polished. I miss episodes like today's where it is a normal everyday challenge. They all did great!
