  1. I'm pretty sure that he could, it just wouldn't be shown on a kid's show.
  2. Maybe the Mother/Earthbound franchise. They had colorful, almost cartoony graphics and quirky humor but also solid storylines.
  3. It's not an excuse, it's the truth. And it's not even about fandoms really. It's human nature. No singular person is "good" or "bad". We're all a mix of positive and negative aspects. And whatever human beings are involved in, you'll see this dichotomy of their nature. As for the MLP fandom, I wouldn't say that we're the best or worst in any specific area, but we're pretty high on the list along with the Whovians, Trekkies and whatever the Star Wars fans are calling themselves. The amount of genius and jackassery the Bronies produce is reflected by just how large our fandom has become.
  4. This. It doesn't mean that ponies are the dominant lifeforms on the planet. It just means that the show focuses on them and what goes on in their homeland; Equestria. It has been established that there are other races in existence but we have almost no information regarding them. Thus far they've only been used as plot devices in stories written about the ponies.
  5. No, I know. I was just agreeing with you. But seeing each other through a portal isn't a bad notion either. We did see something like this when Midnight Sparkle was opening portals between the worlds; humans staring at them in shock while ponies on the other side did the same. I don't think the regular portal that Twilight arrived through works this way since it's surface is mirrored, not transparent. But the ones her counterpart opened made the world beyond visible and I can actually see something similar to what your describing happening during the 4th movie.
  6. Sunny returning to Equestria, but only if this ends up being the last EQG movie. Otherwise, neither.
  7. Hopefully Jim Miller wasn't just yanking our chains and a Lightning Dust/Wind Rider team-up is in the works. Maybe this time Lightning Dust will be the one to get screwed over by WR and become the latest redeemed villain in a long string of redeemed villains.
  8. I think she just wanted to get out of CPA because it had all the warmth of an ice chest. After four years of being treated the way Twilight was, anyone would want to go to a school where they could study by themselves. When she met the girls from Canterlot High, I think Twilight realized that she wanted to learn about friendship more than whatever it was she'd been studying. She was already brilliant so it wasn't like she needed higher education anyway.
  9. Tabitha St. Germain originally thought that Derpy was male and voiced him/her to sound like a little boy. She wasn't trying to make her sound handicapped at all. This was corrected in the second take and she pitched Derpy's voice higher to sound feminine.
  10. I dunno... If ponies invade the earth, is death our only option? I mean, if I surrender can't I just live out the rest of my meager life as some mare's love slave?
  11. I hold fast to my belief that Trixie is Starswirl's descendant. They have the same color scheme, wear the same I put on my robe and wizard hat and they're both magicians. I think that Trixie is a safer choice than Twilight because 1) Twilight is OP enough as it is and 2) it would be an awesome plot twist if a mere show-pony like Trixie turned out to be related to one of the greatest wizards who has ever lived. Also, it would make for an amazing storyline that would finally give Trixie fans the episode they've been dying for.
  12. I was first attracted to the series because it was a colorful, cheerful oasis in my otherwise dreary existence. If MLP became the edgy, angst-ridden wankfest that so many people want it to be, I'd quit the series cold turkey and find a new fandom.
  13. I'll watch the first episode if it's not too long or cringe-worthy and just go from there.
  14. I'll stick with Hasbro, thanks. Disney would C&D fanworks completely off of the Internet and enslave the show's staff into churning out poorly-written pony eps. until they've bled every last drop of profit from the fanbase.
  15. Here's my headcanon synopsis for how the next EQG movie will play out: 1. Humane 6 accompany Sci-Twi to their world's version of the Everfree forest to study a new magical signal that is originating from there. 2. They have a goofy teenage camping trip and find out Equestrian magic is leaking into their world from somewhere inside the forest. 3. After all the talk of magic and an adventure in a spooky forest, Sunset Shimmer gets nostalgic about life in Equestria and becomes homesick. 4. A portal is located in the heart of the forest and some monster has come through. The girls Pony Up to defeat it and seal the portal. 5. Sunset Shimmer is tempted to jump through and return home but decides to stay with her new friends and protect their world from future magical outbreaks. I'm probably way off the mark with this but that's how I would like the next movie to play out. I'd also accept Sunset Shimmer returning to Equestria for a two-part episode, make amends with Princess Celestia, have some sort of adventure with the Mane 6 and then return to Canterlot High.
  16. I've always assumed it was created by the Tree of Harmony to be unlocked by the Mane 6 who personify the Elements of Harmony. It then imbued them with the power of super saiyan friendship that allowed them to defeat Tirek. Then the Tree of Harmony spawned a new playset castle that contained the Cutie Map and thrones for the Mane 6. I have to assume that it is the will of the tree that they spread the magic of friendship throughout Equestria via the map's summons. I honestly think it's just that simple.
  17. This. Pinkamena as a psychotic serial killer; I get it but I don't like it. It was tolerable as a gluefic and the concept isn't actually terrible. But the "Cupcakes" version of Pinkamena has become a little too widespread in Brony culture for my tastes. I think the real Pinkamena is adorable, with her straight hair and melancholy expression. But you can barely find any artwork of her where she isn't covered in blood, brandishing a knife or smiling maniacally like the Joker.
  18. @Wind Chaser makes a good point. With every episode I have to wonder if Discord is manipulating events to help Twilight realize her destiny or if he's just as clueless about friendship as he would lead us all to believe. Maybe it's a little of both. Starswirl the Bearded was said to be one of the wisest and most powerful wizards in Equestrian history. And yet he did not understand the concept of friendship. Is it possible that Discord is in the same situation? Could he be helping Twilight from behind the scenes to become a true princess while learning what it means to actually be a friend at the same time?
  19. I'm just wondering if it's possible to make the board's block feature a little more effective. It prevents a blocked member's posts from being displayed but if someone else quotes them, they're still visible. Is it possible to make these quoted sections unseen as well? Also, does this feature prevent you receiving notifications from a blocked member if they quote your post? If not, is such a thing possible? EDIT: It appears that it does this already.
  20. Judging from the recent episodes, I'd say Twilight hasn't had anything at all to do. She took three days to reorganize her bookshelves for Celestia's sake. Can't be much of a demand on her time if she has it to waste on something like that.
  21. The only question now is which one is the original and which one is the clone?
  22. Interesting little morsels that have fallen from the table of creative process. What I personally find most interesting is the fact that AKR refers to Derpy as Ditzy Doo. I remember reading somewhere that Larson referred to her as Derpy during the filming of episode 100. I guess she's listed in scripts according to the writer/director's preference.
  23. I like the mix of personality types that are portrayed in the show. They appeal to a broader demographic rather than cater to a single interest group. Otherwise I doubt there'd be as many bronies out there as there are now.
  24. It's all a matter of seeing what we want to see as a reflection of whatever mood we're in at the time, turning a random musing into our own personal gospel and then spazzing out over it. Next thing we know we're preaching to cultist on the Internet how Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark indicates that she is the living reincarnation of some Sumerian god or another. Yep, sounds like just another day on MLPForums to me.
  25. Pretty much my experience as well as thoughts on matter. I too saw many hurtful comments aimed at bronies but Youtube comments in general make me doubt my faith in humanity so I never paid them any particular attention. Then I started running an extension called Hide Youtube Comments that prevents them from loading and suddenly my Youtubing experience became a vastly more pleasant experience.
