  1. aw yay new pony emojis

  2. Ikr. (Though also, RyaN, your OC in your avatar is one of the cutest pony OCs I've ever seen, just btw, really pretty.)
  3. Scrolling through this topic is so fabulous! Aside from all the beautiful fanart, most everyone has lovely Rarity avatars and it's just THE BEST and just wanted to share that good feels.
  4. Welcome back, you!! We've never met, but welcome back. That's adorable that you love this site; hope to see you around and have good, pony-centric conversations. And you say you love Disney World? Oh yeah? What's your favorite part? Your favorite princess? Your favorite background music while eating Mickey ice cream? These are all important questions...
  5. Banned for having chocolate milk in a glass instead of glass in a chocolate milk between Discord and the word "chaos"
  6. bringing this back up because personally LOVE Disney's Pocahontas, with all the fury of a thousand blue mare moons (idk). First, all the basic but sincere and always-to-be-rightfully-appreciated compliments that apply to 90% of animated Disney movies, also apply to Pocahontas so there's them to rely on for a great time. That's the animation, the (always, with Disney in those days) unique art/designs, the and the music. As to people saying the characters are boring....... what... what. Agh, not since Aurora has a Disney princess(/Chieftain's daughter, whatever) had so much politely controlled attitude as this leading lady. And really, PROPS to Pocahontas for having her sh*t together. It seems every protagonist runs away from something, and while they make excellent points (of course), things can't be good if they can't be contrasted, so HELLO dutiful and well-respected Pocahontas with her three friends (One of whom is a human/the same species as the protagonist which is like, unheard of in Disney) and single song weighing life's choices logically, thoughtfully, rather than just running for the hills and damning duty (again, the disney characters that do this are justified, but it's nice to have a hero who already knows what's up). (And shameless shoutout to Nakoma in particular because hers and Pocahontas' friendship is adorable. And healthy, and real, and just great in every way.) The level to which Pocahontas is open-minded is all kinds of unrealistic but, as am trying to keep this light and fluffy, it's still beautiful and of course a positive example. And it's her once again having it together without needing half the movie to figure it out; Pocahontas is not only smart and well-adjusted on her own, but she teaches others, especially John Smith. You know, John Smith, the male protagonist and love interest. Looking for a good female role model? The conflict in the movie is not only so real, but so dire and serious and would affect so many, that the hero might rather need to be as on the ball as Pocahontas. This doesn't make her any less. And of course, she does have her uncertainties and flaws (Which she handles with grace, not whining/sass/or running away), and think the advice she's given "Listen to your heart." is.. nice, if not always very helpful to many people. Grandmother Willow is adorable anyway, especially hers and Smith's interactions (if am remembering that correctly). Any further paragraphs and this ceases to be light and fluffy (It would still be positive, though). Pocahontas, am sure, is one of the absolute best Disney princesses. tl;dr on our girl Unlike every other Disney hero, Pocahontas begins the film as a smart, well-adjusted person respected by her community and with actual friends (One of whom is the same species as her.), and slams some gender stereotypes. She can think for herself, weigh options, and consider the word of others, and is always polite even when disagreeing.. babe.
  7. Disconnected from the rest of the gay/bi community. Again. Sadly.
  8. Yes, in company that wouldn't/doesn't mind.. because it's fun. Humans aren't ponies so it is inaccurate, but ahh saying it very rarely gives a kick.
  9. picked some random, dramatic ones here.. "It's not a reason to be depressed. It's a reason to be better." -- Tabitha St. Germain “Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” — David Mitchell ; Cloud Atlas “Walking down the street, you may bump into several women from all backgrounds who are abused and oppressed in their private life, and you wouldn't even know it. The solution is not to focus on Muslim women only, but to campaign for women's freedoms everywhere all the time in all countries no matter how they look or dress.” — AsAMuslim @ Imgur
  10. Love being a girl. Love it. No desire to switch. Much desire when younger. It has passed.

    movies/tv Carol (2015)

Thought the (2015) was a good indicator that Carol is a movie, for some reason. Anyhoo, yes, here there be discussions/one-liner statements/questions about the movie, Carol! Starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. for me, am still working on opinions, so someone else start with whatever they please. *u* have some general prompts, even.. - What did you think of the acting? - Do you think Carol portrayed well romance between two people? What about love? Followup: What about/How does that relate to romance/love between two women, either in the 1950s and/or today? - How do you feel about the costumes/sets/cinematography/sound/score? How do you feel about the OP lumping all of those together? - For the 2016 Oscars, Carol did not receive a Best Picture nomination. Some find this particularly bemusing as ten films may be nominated, and only eight were (And Carol has gotten a very positive critical response and many other award nominations). Your take on this, if any? - Carol is based on Patricia Highsmith's The Price of Salt; have you read it? How do you think the two works compare? - Favorite/Least favorite scenes from the film? And please, of course, share your opinions on more specific aspects of the film, how you feel about the characters actions here and choices there.. you know how it goes. I don't want to give out those specific prompts for some reason.. feelin like letting you bring them up yourself, those which occur to you. the rationale for this is a mystery to me. and hopefully some people respond to this at all. if you've only a sentence to say, g'wan and share, it'll get your post count up anyway, you know
  12. There's definitely some non-Mane 6 ponies with lovely eyes that aren't coming to mind, so shall wiki them later to consider.. Of the Mane 6! It's Rarity and Applejack. In all ways, always, Rarity is the most expressive of everypony and a lot of that comes from her eyes. Even when she's not out-facing the gang, the dark blue, elegant shape, and long lashes are just so pretty. Most beautiful pony indeed. As for AJ- find the apple green color very pretty, and...well of course all the reasoning for Rarity's eyes apply to Applejack as well just in AJ ways. Different shapes and lashes, but both pretty. (apparently prettiness in eyes is v. important to me) Special mention for the color of Rainbow Dash's. And Derpy, of course. It really is fun to see her derping away in the backgrounds still. ^^
  13. Can only recall a moment with Pinkie Pie... In Feeling Pinkie Keen she's so tolerant and understanding of both her own feelings and Twilight's. Max good-natured, always smiling, willing to go along with Twi's insistency in science over Pinkie senses.. And she was never annoying about it...like boring... Pinkie Pie was funny with every syllable she spoke, while being an absolute doll. It really made an impression
  14. That poll, though. Fluttershy episodes are always so well-loved. xD <33 For good reason, too, of course. Oh this episode is so good. There's 14 pages of this, it's all been said...the theme, the pacing, the uniquely pony/Equestrian traits, the Fluttershy being fvcking cute...it's all on fleek. Can only think of one misgiving I have and that's that Flutterbabe increases the wing power by so much more than she'd been shown able to accomplish, like, the day before, and that after training very hard. But am feeling that can be explained away with the other pegasi being a lil inspired by her and so they flew harder too..
  15. Oh of course it depends a little on context, shall explore a few because they're all divine.. Is it a kiss of thanks? Probably stutter in reply, "Of- course." because can't parse the phrase "you're welcome" Was Rarity excited about something else totally unrelated to things usually associated with kissing and she just chose to express herself in that way as people sometimes do somehow? Then would revel silently (Maybe a squee.) in the moment, bursting with elation on the inside, tryin to be cool on the outside, letting her continue to be happy about whatever it is she's happy about. Then try to make it into something more later, obviously. With no actual explicit referrals to the kiss because that's tacky as hell, but clearly flirting is then allowed. if that's how you express yourself, yes.. Is it a kiss of greeting? Kiss her back, of course, it's only polite. No air kissing, though, what is that. Unless she did. But she didn't, in this topic. Or is it a kiss of love? Ha. Haha. There's no context for that. What everyone else said: Wake up
  16. 'Course it'd be fun to have a SO that was also a fan of the show. And handy. Someone you know well, with whom there's understanding of how each other thinks/expresses themselves, is well-suited to discussion (idk grammar). That's a nice thing that applies to all discussions between partners.. xD But the question was about bronies and pegasisters, and if one identifies as one of those, they may want really in-depth discussions so that's particularly handy. trying to get post count up holler
  17. incoming struggle Reformation of villains is the shiniest, most lovely idea.. You know, like, isn't it the ideal? For there to be a real villain that, rather than having to kill or imprison them, they become good. This isn't a thing that happens but that MLP is going after it pretty much every time it has a villain is a sweet formula. Sweet formula. As multiple posts have already expressed, the actual carrying out of these reformations, and then proceeding with the reformed villains, isn't so wonderful. Well, eeyup. Still, imo, it's worth it...losing good villains for boring good characters.... mind is considering changing now that that's been typed... Perhaps the show makes it too idealistic. It's unattainable how it's shown, and while that applies in multiple places (Handling bullies, for example.), this is such a large, desirable thing, that to resolve it so unrealistically (See: Unhelpfully, 100% fantasy, 100% magic), is...is awful, i'm so articulate. To present a real, very real problem, and solve it unrealistically, and in a medium that's supposed to be teaching morals and good life lessons, is lazy and anti-inspiring (To those who recognize the occurrence in question), and.. what is it, helpless, and useless. Ponies are happy, but the people watching with real problems, little kids even, are still stuck with their plights, and the pretense of helping with magic hurts because we can be generous, honest, kind, loyal, and giggle at the ghosties, but apparently still not solve this problem because there's no magic (inb4 somepony saying the previous elements create or are magic.) 'Course there's a lot of value in presenting questions and withholding answers in entertainment, but again, MLP's got a pretense of giving advice and ending episodes having happily learned how to deal with something. And when the writers either don't know how to really solve a problem or can't given some parameter of the show, well, mine immediate thought is don't lie and act like you can with a cardboard imitation of a solution. but then recall the topic at hand and reformed villains, and is it worth it, for that? a little? ooh unsure. in general, no (not worth it). but on mlp, for this particular thing, is it so harmful? would have to ask a kid.
  18. Going to see Carol today ><

  19. Thought it was Las Pegasus as in Las Vegas. @_@ But yes, agreeing with what Kyoshi said- we've seen no evidence of movies in MLP so we can't think there are any, canonically, at this point. His idea that plays are the alternative is a natural and good one.
  20. Think Luna would be the best choice..? She looks dignified, isn't rainbow-colored which always irks people who have it out for little ponies, and can definitely kick some ass. Special move could be transforming into Nightmare Moon. :comeatus: which, of course, isn't something she actually does or would want to do (can she even?) but it's a fighting game...which, as someone who doesn't game much at all, sounds like a reason.. (not like zelda dresses up as sheik willy-nilly; it happened one time) After Luna, would say Rainbow Dash. She's seems the most well-liked with non-bronies and am aiming for an avoidance of MLP-hate in this scenario. xD;
  21. Cough. Rarity's voice was like 20% the reason I got so into the show. It was about 50% of the time my favorite part of episodes. Spent so much time raving and overall fangirling hard for that BEAUTIFUL, BEST VOICE (and the rest of the time over the rest of rarity) it's a little embarrassing (but only a little 'cus ya gotta believe in what ya do and like). Along with other ponies, mostly AJ, Rarity's voice has changed with the passing of seasons... Mostly in S5. It inspires about 2.5% of the love in me it used to, but it's still best voice. Sniff. And apparently others haven't noticed this change as much as, say, AJ's. Guess it is much less obvious but it's so occurred. T_T Ah, hard to describe...Rare does sound older, but that alone doesn't sound like a bad thing so what is it.. hurrr
