  1. I wish I had dreams about ponies, I've tried, really I have, but I just haven't had any yet. Seriously, some people are really lucky... But what if you woke up and your dream was real?
  2. You're quite the optimist, aren't you? Sadly, I don't really think things would go as smoothly as you described, I'd be more inclined to believe there'd be at least some kind of initial fear or something.
  3. The last My Little Pony merchandise I bought was...nothing. Sadly, I still don't have ANY merchandise AT ALL...but if I can say merchandise I do want, I secretly want a Fluttershy plushie.
  4. I really hope you're right, I'm kind of at a loss here. I don't mean to sound like a pity party here, but, honestly, I thought that being a non-closet brony would make me a happier person (I've only been a non-closet one for a while), but the opposite seems to have been the case. Again, sorry if I sound like a pity party.
  5. So today my friends found out I'm a brony. They called all bronies "immature faggots" and think I have problems. That's not the biggest problem, however. The real issue is that they're planning to watch the show "just so they can make fun of me" (exact quote) for it. These people, my best friends, are now mocking me for having different tastes and on a topic they don't even know anything about. My worry is that they'll watch the show with the intent of hating it, hate it, then never shut up about how bad it was to them.I'm kind of stuck here, and this might be a hopeless cause, but does anypony have any suggestions?Edit: I also forgot to mention the fact that one of them said "do you buy the dolls too?" I don't own any of the "dolls" for the record (although I do secretly want a Fluttershy plushie), but the fact that they assumed something like that is just stunning. No offense to anyone who does have any of the pony figurines, I mean I want a plushie.Edit 2: Just to show how shocking this was, one of these friends said, and I quote, "So this weekend I'm going to watch My Little Pony and play Minecraft (I'm a fan of the game and he hates it without having played it). That's it, I'm going to devote my entire weekend to it, then I'm going to make fun of you for it." I actually couldn't believe what I'd heard, but he really was serious. I kid you not.EDIT 10/2/12: I showed one of my friends the first full episode (part 1 and 2) of season 1. He said that while there were "some references that he could see could be enjoyed, there was still too much 'cutesyness' in it that it's still a show for little girls." I said there was one episode more that he had to see (of course I'm referring to "Sonic Rainboom"), but other than that I'm having mixed reactions. At least the reaction wasn't completely negative, I guess, but does anypony have any further suggestions? EDIT 12/27/12: Just to clarify, he said he won't judge us for liking the show, but he's just not interested in watching more, which is fine by me, honestly. As for another of my friends...he's a different story.
  6. What are your thoughts on the matter? Assuming we only see this from the ponies' points of view, what would their reactions be? Peace? Fear? War, even? What do you guys think?
  7. I hate to sound like a pessimist, but your friend is right. Anything different from humans would most likely be reacted irrationally upon. In the end, ponies would fear humans, save for a few trying to shelter them from the harm from others, but even then they'd both be at risk of being discovered.
  8. Being nice and giving compliments are just things I naturally do, both in real life and on the forums. Kindness first, after all.
  9. These three songs make me sad (I don't cry to music. At least, not usually) mainly because when I hear them I think of "My Little Dashie" (especially the third one, for obvious reasons). /watch?v=5mfyCI82lWM /watch?v=git6DCXSqjE /watch?v=LX7Fo266uX0 This one just makes me sad, but where it came from is what really surprised me. /watch?v=MXi0GpOSArw (Sorry for the lack of links, I can't post that many.)
  10. I'll take the oath to protect Equestria (I already would have that mindset if I went there) and doing the dangerous task in the Everfree Forest (challenge accepted, and besides, a little action there sounds fun, preferably with me armed with a method of defense, though, just in case. You know how the place can be).
  11. It seems the popular response, but, to be honest, I didn't like Rarity in the beginning. To me, she was basically the personification of the "girliness" the show had, but as the show continued, I began to appreciate her more, the twist in "Sisterhooves Social" at the end confirmed that. She's not my favorite pony, that honor still goes to Fluttershy, but I do like her more now, and even appreciate her more "proper" manner.
  12. I absolutely loved DDR as a kid, I always played "Extreme 2", it's songs were awesome and overall the game is probably the best exercise I got throughout most of my childhood, if not the majority. Then the PS3 came, and I couldn't play it on there, so now I can only play it when I hook my PS2 up, but I still love it to this day.
  13. Well, aside from the obvious response, I'd want to hang out with Fluttershy for the day (or longer, if possible). I'd be open to doing it on Earth or Equestria, both have their advantages, I'd let her decide.
  14. For starters, I started telling people I'm a brony. Bronies aren't very common around my school, or if there are they're closet about it, like I used to be. Anyway, most people I've told give me weird looks or think I'm "gay" or something's "wrong with me", but I've managed. I also made an OC and plan to actually use the pony creator for it sometime this weekend. Lastly, I'm making a level in Minecraft based on an MLPfic I'm making. Still, trying to get others to watch the show probably tops my list. I actually told someone recently about the show, he said he'll watch it this weekend. Now all I can do is hope he likes it.
  15. Imagine you're given the opportunity to spend a day either in Equestria or on Earth with both one main character pony (it doesn't have to be one of the Mane 6) and a side/background pony, which would you spend it with? For me, it'd be with Fluttershy and the side pony is a tie between Octavia and Applebloom back here on Earth. It's just closer to home, which I'd like to show them around as well as some of our culture. On one hand, Octavia would be interested in our music (huge fan of violin and piano right here), but Applebloom's natural curiosity and cheerful attitude would make the day awesome too. As for Fluttershy, she would probably want to see the wildlife, probably meaning that our day would include a visit to the mountains. Overall, it would be an awesome day.
  16. I know that feel bro. For me, I was bored on day and had seen some people reference MLD on MLP clips on YouTube. I'd read Cupcakes a little while prior to this, so I didn't know what to think. I read the story but I didn't cry...on the outside anyway. On the inside, however, saddest I've ever been. Right after reading the story (and a few moments of mentally debating with myself), I started watching the show, starting at Season 1 Episode 1, and I can't remember how many episodes I watched. Overall, the story was excellent and, without it, I might not have even watched the show. So huge thanks to ROBCakeran53 for making me who I am today! On a side note, as a sort of tradition, I plan to re-read the story each year to celebrate the day I became a brony. It's just my way of celebrating, although I do want to see if I'll cry this time. Also, I think that day will be a day I can really reflect on the past year and everything that's been accomplished in it. Here's a brohoof to all my fellow bronies! /)
  17. February 4th. I'd just finished reading "My Little Dashie" and decided to watch the show. I'd started on episode 1 and watched a few others afterwards.
  18. Horribly written? I told people that I thought it was exceptionally well written, it was done in a way that was impacting and memorable. By the end of the story, I got close to crying. I didn't, at least on the outside, but it was saddening.
  19. Welcome to the herd! It's nice to see somepony else who also has also read MLD (I'm implying based on your post). My favorite pony is also Fluttershy (Rainbow Dash is a close second). Brohoof! /)
  20. To be completely honest, I don't really talk about the show much because I'm worried what people will think. I do have some reputation and the problem is that a lot of people won't give it a second thought. Though, I do quote the show often, just very few people get the references.
  21. I got close to crying while reading the story, but held myself back in the end. Still, excellent story, I plan on reading it later next year as a sort of tradition I've invented.
  22. Find Fluttershy and try to be as careful as possible in introducing myself. Then I'd meet the other mane six, get a job, buy a house, and live there. No need to worry about the fabric of universes being torn, Pinkie Pie already breaks the fourth wall enough to do that on her own.
  23. My journey, if you will, started with a YouTuber named "joshscorcher" reviewing the first two episodes of the show (part 1 and 2 of the pilot). Prior to that I hadn't heard of it, but later, at a club at my school, there was one guy who was an open brony and made constant references to the show and his love of it. I was curious about it by now, and started off watching small clips of the show online, which, thanks to constant referencing from the commenters, led to me reading two fanfics, Cupcakes and My Little Dashie, in that order but at very seperate times. Cupcakes disturbed me, not helped by the fact I read it at night, and left me with trouble sleeping for a little bit. However, My Little Dashie I read one day while my parents and sister were away for the day, and I didn't have anything to do, so I thought, "What do I have to lose?" While many people claim to have cried reading it, I didn't. On the outside at least, I managed to hold that back. After reading it I thought, "Okay, if someone made that based on the show, there has to be something to it." Then I, albeit with initial hesitance, watched the first two episodes, liked it, and continued on for a few more episodes, not sure where I ended, but my parents came back home as I finished my last for the day. I watched a few of the other episodes later, and enjoyed some of the fanfictions people wrote about them. And that's my story of becoming a brony. I still haven't seen all the episodes, but I hope to see them all some time. Also, very few people know I'm a brony, it's a well kept secret for the most part.
  24. I explained what a brony is to my parents and a friend of mine when it appeared in the newspaper. My parents just scoffed, my sister called it "random" so I'm not sure it's positive, and my friend said the whole fandom was "gay."
