Why wasn't Silverstream in 2,4,6 Greaaat!?
Landi replied to ggg-2's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
"2, 4, 6, Greaaat" was such a bad episode that it doesn't even surprise me that much that they would do this. Silverstream obviously would have been the best choice to be on a cheer squad, but the writers flat out just ignored her. Again, this is just one out of the plethora of issues this awful episode had. -
No, not really. The Tirek in G1 and the Tirek in G4 are very different on the terms of power and threat level. In G1, all he really did was sit on a throne and send his minions to capture ponies and bring them to him so he could fly around on a chariot. In G4 however, he goes around Equestria basically stealing the essence that makes ponies work. He definitely wasn't as big of a threat in G1 as he was in G4. Now, as for the mane six as character's in general, they are great! One of the aspects about them that is so great is that many different people can all relate to at least one member of the group, which makes them perfect for this show. In my case for instance, I relate the most with Fluttershy, and I love it when she's able to overcome the many challenges that are thrown at her . To some, they may relate to, say, Twilight more, or maybe Applejack, or any of the other members of the group. This versatility is what makes them such a well loved and highly regarded group of characters. So I'll restate, I don't believe that the Mane Six are overrated .

Are you a regular Brony, or an extreme Brony?
Landi replied to Sondash Studios's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'm not sure what the criteria for being considered a regular or extreme, but I'd probably be considered regular one. I love to watch the show and create characters and stories which fit in it's intresting universe, and I also love talking about the show with others (like on these forums for instance). All that being said though, I don't actually have much in the terms of MLP merch, and I have other hobbies that use up some of my time as well. -
Yeah, I'd say have have a favorite pony bias, but that's pretty much the nature have having a favorite in anything. In the case of MLP, I tend to enjoy and watch episodes featuring Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash more than the others. That's not to say I didn't enjoy episodes without them, I just simply gravitate towards episodes with them a little more. The same could probably be said about my fascination with pegasi in Fim, and the episodes involving them.

Considering that the G4 movie was also rated PG, it's not a big surprise that this one is rated that as well. What is intriguing though, is that instead of the reason being for mild action and violence, it is for thematic elements, which could be all sorts of things. Maybe it is referring to the three pony types being separated and disliking towards each other. That might fit under the category of "thematic elements".

G5 song revealed in toy.
Landi replied to CastletonSnob's topic in My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)
I suppose there could be a slight chance the music could live up to that of G4, but I doubt it. The songs of G4 had lots of heart and passion put into them which makes them hard to beat. Plus, "Fit right In" is a tad basic sounding from what I heard, and the name "Glowing up" makes me nervous. But again, I'll reserve my full judgement on G5's music when I get to hear in all the movie. For now I'm just making speculations. -
G5 song revealed in toy.
Landi replied to CastletonSnob's topic in My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)
Well, the lyrics sure are interesting, albeit weird. At some points hard to make out what Izzy is saying, but the general gist of it seems that she is telling her newfound friends how to fit in with the unicorns (presumably in the Bridlewood Forest). I actually guessed that there would be a scene along these lines after the short clip of Pipp dressed up as one, so it is neat to see that may be the case. The idea of these non-unicorns pretending to be so to fit in with the townsfolk is an interesting concept, and I hope it is executed well. As for the tune and melody...it could use some work. From the little bit of it I heard, it kind of just sounded like a generic kids movie song. That being said, since we only have a poor audio snippet of the song, I won't judge it too harshly yet. The potential movie song "Glowing up" on the other hand gives me a headache just reading the title. I have a feeling the music of G5 won't be as good as that of G4 (which is admittedly a hard thing to live up to). -

Prepare for a possible fandom meltdown (likely spoilers)

I am really hoping that it is either a toy gimmick and nothing else, or a temporary thing that happens once in a blue moon (considering all the other toys of her are as an Earth Pony). If it is permanent however, it could have a negative impact on the generation and it's characters. Just like Twilight, she'd seemingly be put on a pedestal above her friends, which doesn't seem right at all (especially conceding this movie's concept). I'm just really hoping that she doesn't actually become an alicorn, because if she does it could really affect my interest in this new generation. -
I knew a lot of this already, but there is some new stuff, specifically when it comes to their hobbies. I guessed that Sunny may be into roller skating, but it definitely looks to be confirmed now. Hitch being a fan of music is new. Zipp being into science is the last thing I'd expect from her, especially since her other hobby is athletics. Something that makes me a bit sad though, is that one of Pipp's hobbies is social media. I was really hoping that wouldn't be the case, but turns out it is. I liked Pipp's design from the start, so I was really hoping I'd like her personality as well. But since she'll most likely just be the typical social media obsessed character, I doubt I'll end up liking her as much. It's really disappointing to me that this is the route they decided to go down with her character.

Well this was quite the info drop we got on the cast. I'm a bit unfamiliar with some of these people, but so far it looks like a cast that could work. But before I can make my final judgement, I am interested to hear what the characters will actually sound like in the movie (hopefully via a trailer coming soon). We did hear a line from Zipp and Hitch, which sounds pretty good so far, and Izzy's VA sound's exactly like what I imagined Izzy to sound like. Vanessa as sunny is interesting, and could definitely work (again, I'm curious to hear what she'll sound like in the movie). I am unfamiliar with Pipp's VA, but she probably knows what she's doing. Also, Ken Jeong is voicing a character; this makes me very intrigued. I also kind of doubt that these will be the same VA's as those will be in the series considering most of these are actors, not professional VA's. Still, it's really cool to see who the movie cast will be. I also took a good look at some of those movie clips, and they actually look pretty good. Much better then the stock images we've been getting on the merchandise. I also had some fun trying the analyze each clip and try figure out what is going on in each one. This is quite the info drop!

Maybe at some point the non-pony species turned on the ponies and tried to take over Equestria for themselves, causing tons of conflict. Maybe afterwards, ponies felt so betrayed that they couldn't even trust themselves, and as a result they split up. As for the non-ponies, they are probably back to their own lands now. This is just some theory I came up with though, I don't really know for sure what happened.

Will the Season 10 Comic Overwrite the Show's Canon?
Landi replied to Misty Shadow's topic in Official MLP Comics & Books
From what I've read of the "Season Ten" comics, they definitely do ignore pre-established world-building and aspects of characters. Especially with the whole "multiple-ToH" thing that very much broke the uniqueness of Equestria and made the mane six seem less significant. Of course, since it's still just the comics, which have been known to break canon multiple times before, they can just be considered non-canon (which is what I consider them at this point). It's just tricky when they slap the title "Season Ten" on there, despite it going against and damaging the pre-established world of Equestria. -
Coloring book reveals new character.
Landi replied to CastletonSnob's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
What's interesting is that I actually predicted that Pipp and Zipp would have a mother who is the ruler over pegasi, so it's neat to see that this character might be that. I figure that she'll start out being a bit antagonistic, but I kind of doubt that she will actually be the movie's main villain. That's all just speculation of course; I'll have to see more of this character before coming to any conclusions. -

Well, it's cool that we got such a big info drop. Things like Hitch being a sheriff and Pipp being a pop star are things I already figured, but at least it's confirmed now. The whole "magic is lost" thing is actually pretty sad, especially when it comes to the pegasi. To have wings, yet not actually be able tp use them must be really sad, especially since flight is such a core part of being a pegasus. It's really sad to see the Equestria we loved so much end up like this. That being said, considering we have images of ponies with cutie marks and clips of Pipp and Zipp flying, hopefully the magic will be restored at some point (along with the pony types maybe being friends again).

Concerned about G5’s character design
Landi replied to Sepul-Coloratura's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
Yeah, I can see what you are saying when it comes to less distinguishable character designs. Some of my concerns are with the overall body shape and expressions of the ponies. They don't quite capture that same great pony look that G4 had done so well at. Plus, and this might just be me, the details such as wing and horn design also look strange to me. Then, like you mentioned, the manes and tails just aren't as distinguishable and unique as those in G4. Now, I do think Pipp and Izzy look pretty good. Not as good as the G4 main cast members of course, but still pretty decent. Plus, maybe they'll prove to look better in the actual movie. But until then, I'll remain a bit skeptical when it comes to design. -

Have you watched the show in its entirety?
Landi replied to yert's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Yes, I've fully watched seasons 1-9 once through. Not only that, but I have fully rewatched seasons 1-7 through as well (I didn't bother with the last two on that rewatch). Then I'm pretty sure I've watched through seasons 1&2 at least 5 times . All this is not even including all the times I decide to rewatch certain individual episodes throughout the series (I don't even know how many times I've rewatched Hurricane Fluttershy ). As for side content, I've watched the movie, the two specials, and unfortunately I have had to endure through the four EQG movies (You can probably tell that I'm not a fan of EQG XD). -
