  1. Holy god, I love the Twilight Zone! My dad used to watch it when he was younger. Now me and him watch it together when I occasionally record it. We love the good old-fashioned, classy-but-stinging barbs and digs the characters sometimes make on each other. Oh boy, I've seen quite a few. This favorites list will be quite extensive: The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Judgment Night Perchance to Dream Five Characters in Search of an Exit Nightmare at 20,000 Feet I Shot an Arrow into the Air The Hitch-Hiker King Nine Will Not Return The Man in the Bottle The Eye of the Beholder A Most Unusual Camera The Odyssey of Flight 33 A Hundred Yards Over the Rim The Silence Shadow Play The Mind and the Matter The Obsolete Man Two It's a Good Life A Game of Pool Deaths-Head Revisited The Midnight Sun Nothing in the Dark The Hunt The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank The Gift The Changing of the Guard Uncle Simon Stopover in a Quiet Town The Fear Probe 7, Over and Out Not too many, eh?
  2. The creature you are describing is a Brahmin. They are two-headed cows, essentially, and are the pack animals of the Capital Wasteland. If you kill one or find one dead, and it has loads of packs on its back, dig through it--you will find a lot of merchandise, which means it was part of a trade caravan. I believe trade caravan Brahmin respawn, though. Yes, much animal life and nature has suffered because of the nuclear fallout. Mutated insects, mutated mammals, mutated crabs (Mirelurks...Mirelurk Kings...*shudder*...f*cking creature from the Black Lagoon right there). And practically every tree is black and barren, save those in oasis. And those weird, glowing, uranium-green mushrooms... Strangely, the game opted to make dogs unaffected by radiation over the course of the storyline's history. It even says this right in the game. It's probably an explanation for why you can get Dogmeat. Also, Super Mutants. They were once people, but they found that they were stronger and more resistant to radiation than regular humans, so, for survival's sake, they probably conglomerated and crushed human settlements...and human beings. Even the ones who didn't wish to do this were driven to join the ranks of the violent Super Mutants because of their ugliness, normal humans' fear and hatred of them, and the increased chance of survival. In a way, this makes their race a tragic story. Same goes for Ghouls. In actuality, the game pretty accurately demonstrates how social dynamics work, even in post-Apocalyptia. As long as one human is alive, as long as the survival gene remains in place and untampered with, human nature will prevail. But, we must remember that the biggest freak of nature is human nature.
  3. If you're trying to figure out if they're a brony, simply whisper in passing "So... Who is best pony?" If they share a knowing smile, give a related answer, or both, they are a brony. If not, simply avoid their awkward stare by quickly walking away like you ain't never seen a stranger animal in all your life. As for a test to prove someone's a brony: They watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (and/or older gens, I suppose), watch/create media related to the series, or play with the Hasbro brand toys. All of this, while they are outside the target demographic of children (especially girls, but not only girls) ages 3-12.* * = could vary, depending on product or opinion
  4. You listen to orchestral music. A lot. Eventually, you begin to hear tiny, subtle blips in the music. Were those there before? As day turns to night, and night to day, you lose track of time as your ears detect more and more blips. Stringing them together, your sleep-deprived mind begins making out conversations between the original composers of the music and yourself. Mozart and Beethoven are arguing constantly, and Haydn talks of catching a boat back to Austria. That's impossible, you think, but you can't tell him that; he'll hate you for it! As the voices grow louder, the music less joyful, and the pressure to create the perfect composition adds up, you cut off your own ears, so that you may finally think straight. I've always had a profound interest in dinosaurs.
  5. You want to become the very best. So you set out in your Pokemon trainer garb to capture one of the rarest Pokemon: the President of the United States! You go to a parade and throw a Pokeball at his head--it's no use, he escapes. This is considered an attempted assassination, and you are sent to prison for life. I like Tortilla chips.
  6. ...is a bad thing. You've heard the expression before, and if it's been directed at you, it can seem wise at first, annoying later. Here's how this works: The user above you says something they like at the end of their post. You then tell in your post how too much of that thing they like ends up affecting them negatively or ruins their life (e.g. makes them fat, depressed, kills them, someone or something attacks them because of it, etc.) The more creative you are in making too much of the good thing bad for that person, the funnier! Example: I really like Krispy Kreme donuts. You become addicted, eating them every day. As a result, you grow obese. You are all alone with your donuts. Make sure you mention something you like at the end of your post! I'll start off: I really like listening to rock music.
  7. Uh...yeah... The premise kind of involves a massive loss of life as a result of nuclear fire, and a contorted, tortured, mutated brand of life is what's left over. People who play the game aren't usually affected by this since, well, it's a video game, and we think it could never happen in real life. But it can. In some ways, in some places, it already has. Sorry if I'm sounding like a smart-ass. No, you're right, it is sad. It's a heavy storyline that, in addition to being a dangerous and interesting outset for a roleplaying game, serves as a reminder of man's ability to destroy, rebuild, and be burdened with conscience at all times. If there was a peaceful way to take over the world, it would be done. Walking around the ruins of D.C. or looking at the fire-blasted rock outcroppings and dunes of New Vegas, it is somewhat depressing to view buildings, vehicles, pipelines and homes rotting to the ground in radioactive decay. These things are signs of a thriving economy, a once-stable planet--however loosely the term "stable" can be used. It makes you think, "What was it all for, if it was just going to be blown away like this?" But then you remember that no one truly wanted it this way. Deep, deep down, no organism wants its home and its resources to be blasted to smithereens, no matter what anarchists and pessimists may tell you. But there are good people, like Three Dog and the Brotherhood of Steel, who will always be around to help. Just remember that: There will never, ever exist a time where evil is without good, dark without light, and vice versa. It is the cosmic balance of everything.
  8. NCH Video Converter is really good. It even takes some special formats, like DVD formats from older camcorders. I believe it's free for 14 days, but I had it longer than that and it never charged me money or prompted me to download by stopping my usage of it.
  9. Why has this question never been asked before? Of course. It all makes perfect sense. Forrest would definitely be a brony, and he would probably tell some people at the bus stop bench about it. This in turn would start a chain reaction of people discovering the magic of friendship and MLP, and Forrest's mentioning of ponies would propel the series into mainstream popularity. Like it is now... You know, someone could almost make it a fanfiction origin story.
  10. Tell her to call an ambulance. If she refuses, because that would mean people who could stop her would show up, tell her she's not as crazy as we were led to believe, and that she has no right to continue going on as a psychopath. Watch as her entire mindset crumbles before her when she realizes she hasn't done anything right since day one, and start telling the internet about her death as she performs the ancient Japanese ritual suicide of seppuku. Then, tell Discord that even though he is the god of chaos, he has actually formulated a plan, and that is to keep things in the natural order of chaos. A plan means structure, structure means order. Discord is a disappointment, since he now contradicts himself. Repeat the telling-the-internet-accompanied-by-seppuku part.
  11. Aha, illegal fireworks, yes. Well Snappy New Year from here in California, the Pacific Coast Timezone, which seems to be the latest timezone of them all. Have a sexy time in 2013, everybody.

Now that's just illogical, illegal idiots doing ill-mannered things in Illinois.

Aren't illegal fireworks the best? Nothing good is legal in Illinois.

    4. Feather Spiral

      Feather Spiral

      Allitteration rocks, illitteration sucks.

Also illegal doesn't mean bad. But it IS illogical to use fireworks and shooting in the air, not just ill-mannered and illicit but also ill-advised, because of the risk to everyone.

  12. Ponies. Plain and simple. I learned how to dance Gangnam Style. It isn't always about how much you get done, or how fast. That is, the grade does not determine the intelligence. We are too smart for our own good. The world is bigger and more beautiful than we think. I used to wonder what friendship could be, until you all shared its magic with me.

  14. Has the series or media of which you are a fan made a significant impact in your life? Is it a hobby or interest that instantly comes to mind and that you could/would actively talk about with others who share that interest? Do you have much merchandise or related media of the interest? Have you joined a forums site/written a fanfiction/created an art piece/done any other sort of fan labor work related to that media? Do you actively participate or engage in activity related to that media with other fans of that media? If you said yes to any of these, you may consider yourself a part of the fandom. For further reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fandom Honestly, there isn't too much difference between being a fan and being part of the fandom. MLP Forums is a part of the MLP fandom, a group of geeks playing Dungeons and Dragons down in the basement is part of the D&D fandom. It varies.
  15. Fireworks. FIREWORKS. FIREWORKS. Did someone say fireworks? They say you shouldn't let me around fireworks. I say they're full of it. And you say you'll go off of whatever I say. So let's get crackin'! Firecrackin', to be specific.
  16. You're my favorite princess, Lightning Dust. You always have been. I don't need royalty to tell me who my love and admiration goes towards.
  17. Alright, New Year's Eve, fecking cold, got some fireworks here... Neighbors got to go to work tomorrow? I don't think so >:D

  18. Oh, sweet! Did you ever read/write fanfiction for it? My fanfiction account is figgitywookie6; I wrote the mature "Looks Good In Black" fanfics. I also wrote a bunch of others that I took down rather quickly because they were very short, embarrassingly crappy romance fics
  19. Well, what really signed me on as a full member of the Internet (and as a fanfiction writer) was that '07-'08 Nickelodeon show, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera. Yep, not really into it anymore...at all... But I did write some funny fanfics for it, and I enjoyed my life so much when I was into it. And then I got into anime. Ever since ponies, I haven't really watched as much anime, but if I had to choose a couple that I was really into, it would probably be...hmm...Strawberry Panic! and Elfen Lied (yuri and gore; can you say "fanboy"?) Not particularly long series, but satisfactory for me nonetheless. As you can tell, I'm not really into big, majorly established fandoms (I like it that way). Except My Little Pony, of course. This seems to be my current and only fandom, has been since January of 2012, and it's definitely a big one. I think the reason I've stuck with it for so long is because I'm older now, the show is still going, the fanbase is still growing, and the premise of it all is just so...interesting. Plus, I've met real people in real life who enjoy it as well, and, you know, that helps a lot. Here are some...I guess you could say "minor" fandom-ish interests of mine: Star Wars - I like the movies and Chewbacca/Wookiees are somewhat idols in my life Green Day - I don't know if music can be considered a fandom, but as my favorite band, they made two of my favorite albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, the latter of which I plan on writing an entire story around Warriors - This was my main book series since 4th grade, and the longest continuing series I've read. I stopped after Omen of the Stars: Sign of the Moon, and I want to get back into reading it, but it will be so discombobulating to do so @_@ Naruto - Followed it valiantly with my brother back when it originally broadcasted on Toonami, when I was younger. Fell behind, didn't see some of the movies, lost track, lost interest, and haven't attempted to rewatch (have you seen how f***ing long that series and Shippuden are?!) Fallout - I've only played Fallout 3, but I have been playing it for so long, and I still am not finished with it because I really take my time in that game, that it has to be one of the most satisfying video games I have ever played. I also have read Fallout: Equestria (haven't finished it, NO SPOILERS), and that is probably the most satisfying fanfiction...anything I have ever read. Plus, my friend and I talk about it and New Vegas a lot, and I have the honor of being a character in the NV fanfiction story he is writing. Lucky me Halo/Red vs. Blue - Loved Halo ever since my brother and I got our Xbox 360 and Halo 3 back in Christmas 2007. I watched the Red vs. Blue series when I was younger, and very very recently--we're talking within the past few days here--I rewatched more of the series. It really is a funny and ingenious show. Caboose, Grif, and Lopez are my favorites.
  20. Dude this video's kind of old... Ah, well. An oldie but a goodie! Yes, a very inspiring video indeed, and one of the most thoroughly researched brony projects out there. Kind of makes one stand back and marvel at the magnitude of the fandom, even when the events of the world make it seem like nothing. Heck, there are so many bronies from all over the globe talking about current events, trending media, and gossip, this fandom practically offers news coverage of the events of the world!
  21. Only about 8% of Americans ever keep their New Year's Resolutions. Why should I promise myself something when I'll just end up breaking that promise? I'd never learn to trust myself again. ...Well, more so than now. So my resolution is to not make any resolutions. Hey hey, look at that, I already broke it. Mission accomplished. Now that that's out of the way, on with the New Year!
  22. Your avatar picture... What happened to your horn? You didn't cut it off, did you?! In some crazy metallurgical attempt to discover a new alchemical property that would push the industrial evolution of ponykind into a new direction?! ...If so, make sure to take plenty of naps in between. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know. Welcome to the forums, most valuable ally.
  23. Uh...I've played Fallout 3... Still am... [heads turn toward Jack] My friends talk about New Vegas... [all of the weapons available in NV but not in F3 are raised at Jack threateningly] I mean, I might go out and buy it... No, you know what? Fallout 3 is a god-solid, kick-ass game. And I don't need no fancy follow-up to prove it, especially one that makes Fallout 3 look like the normalest shit ever. OP: Any last words? Jack: Fucking do it, faggot. [open fire]
  24. Tried two new shows today-- Dragons: Riders of Berk and Littlest Pet Shop. Actually not that bad.

Yeah, I ended up recording the Hub's little Naughty or Nice Awards mini-marathon today, since it was "hosted" by Pinkie Pie and Discord, but I didn't know the episodes of the marathon would be Littlest Pet Shop. I decided to just watch it anyway. To me, it actually seems to share many of the audience-capturing techniques of MLP.

i don't rly like littlest pet shop, it seemed that since this was a success that they'd try again with something similar... but i can see why people would like it, again, no more carboard cutouts for characters
