However, I'm still very excited to see this opportunity for the rest of the community, and hope that some truly wonderful members fill out applications and join our staff! It is perfectly acceptable to work in more than one position in Poniverse. So, hypothetically, you could be PR staff and a moderator at the same time. However, I don't recommend doing that unless you're sure you would have plenty of time for both without stressing yourself out or reducing your free time too much. I committed to the PR team, and with grad school coming up soon, I can really only commit to one position within Poniverse. So I'll just keep trying to do my best on PR for as long as I can. So what exactly will I be doing as a moderator? Joining the team against 42 in the hardest game ever I think the application has a blurb at the end that gives some idea on what is expected. In general Mods are part referees, organizers, hall monitors, therapists, and first responders of any board. The tools at their disposal and the rules governing best Mod practices are going to change from place to place. First time for everything... It is far more than that. That task is actually one of the most basic and easy tasks we attend to. Being a moderator is very difficult. It takes a lot of time, emotion, sweat, blood, and tears. It can be emotionally painful. It can be stressful. It can be infuriating. I strongly recommend that no one gets themselves into it unless they have a good reason for doing so. I've stayed in moderation (and ended up becoming an admin) because I love this community dearly. I would have quit the staff a long time ago if I didn't. Don't get me wrong, the people in the staff are wonderful. I love working with them. But the work itself can be astoundingly draining and painful. The thing is, it's worth it if you have a true goal, a true reason for why you put up with the things moderators deal with. What keeps me going is a true love for the community and the people in it. That is where I draw my strength and perseverance from. Being a moderator here has changed who I am permanently, in both good and bad ways. It is not a decision that should be made lightly. 12 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
