Niue has an interesting take on the Union Jack canton flag. Usually it's predominantly a shade of blue, but they've completely gone in the opposite direction.

yes it is back in the 1860's it was a country and that was what the civil war was about

For me it's got to be the Canadian Red Ensign - it just exudes class and looks beautiful when flying.  Not only does it contain the already-flawless Union Flag in its canton, but the shield denotes the proud heritage of its settlers.   Many Canadians still fly this flag out of protest against the Maple Leaf, considering this to be their true flag - and I couldn't agree more.  It represents a country proud of its heritage and looks amazing!

and yep I love it. its just so pretty and simple. Iceland's is a close second. Just the 3 colours in a cross look so appealing to the eye.

I'm probably forgetting some very nice flags, but I listed the first two that came to my mind.

Argentina: I love the sun design, and the rest of the flag also looks good. But it's mostly because of the sun.

Estonia: Of all the tricolor flags, I find it the most appealing combination of colors.

Well yes, but even then, a 'Jack' is the name for the flag flown at a ship's head; the one at the rear is called an ensign. 

But to be honest, as a Brit, it never really bugged me when people call it the Union Jack.  I'm sure others would disagree though haha.

I love Australia's flag because I come from there and appreciate the meaning behind it, also proud to be Aussie!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this one yet, but, I also love the Filipino flag, again because of the meaning behind it, but also its colours, design, the fact that I have friends from there, and I'm currently in a long distance relationship with someone from there...
