Wellll... (really long story incoming)

Last March, all of my friends and I were obsessed with Minecraft. I saw a YTP of MLP on Youtube, where I first noticed the character of Discord. Interested in spite of myself, i started watching clips from the show. Realizing that I would soon become obsessed and that my obsession with MLP would eclipse that of Minecraft, I decided to suppress my interests.

Fast forward three months. All of my friends have moved on from Minecraft but me; on the server that my friend ran, I was usually the only one online. After building a giant labyrinth filled with death traps, i began to realize how empty the game made me feel. With a sigh of defeat in admission of my impending despair, I reluctantly allowed myself to become a brony.

Fast forward ANY FREAKING AMOUNT OF TIME YOU WANT! XD Now, every night is the best night of my life. Not only did MLP end my depression, it also showed me new ways to be creative---at first i made cool MLP-inspired compositions, and now I'm writing fanfics, which I'm apparently pretty good at! (check the link in my signature if you want to find out :P). MLP introduced me to all you guys, the most friendly, accepting, happy community on the planet, which I will always feel gratitude for.

Also, as I became a bigger and bigger brony, I stayed up later and later each night watching Youtube--whether it be the show or cool brony-created content. Then one day I saw on Yahoo News that there would be a meteor shower in my area, and I thought 'what the heck, why not watch it? That night was (even though almost every night since last June would count XP) the greatest night of my life; I discovered that my unique interest (my cutie mark, if you will) was a passion for the beauty of the night sky.

And if you actually read all of that, you are now my favorite person. XD /)

Well, I'm a girl so there's no big thing about that, but the thing is, I really didn't see any problem with me watching MLP. I am a HUGE animation fan, and voice actor fan (Tara Strong was practically my childhood), and I've never had any issues with watching something meant for a slightly younger audience. I saw some clips online, found out it was the newest version of My Little Pony, and had already decided I should watch it. But before I actually did, I was reading comments on YouTube and found out there were these people called "bronies", and I knew I had to be a part of it, 'cause I'd finally found other people who were happy to watch something regardless of the target audience.

I like cuteness. So eventually, when I watched MLP by sheer coincidence (Looking for a place to sleep on anime con, MLP projection room was the only one with free and comfortable chairs), I really fell in love with it. And later, well, the community around MLP is much nicer than most around, so why not go inside?

The first I saw of the show was a clip of Twilight meeting Fluttershy. I thought it was cute, but I didn't have an interest in watching it, and it was only when I found out about the massive fandom that I gave it a go. At first I was put off by all the cuteness. It was like a sugar overload, but once I got over that, I saw how amazing MLP is, and was already hooked.

Like so many others in the fandom, I kept hearing about the show from my online friends. It was around March of last year when it eventually got to me, so I watched a few episodes to shut them up...and after a weekend long episode binge, here I am.

So original, am I right?

My young nieces got me into it. It used to just be constant, childish noise in the background, but now it's something that we can all share and enjoy with one another. :)

It really starts back in 2011. I was scrolling through channels, and I crossed the Hub. Nothing new, I usually pass it, but there was something playing that I didn't hear of before; My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This was early in 2011, so MLP was still relatively "new," but I caught the episode "Stare Master" about halfway through. I knew My Little Pony was a "show for girls," but I don't judge a series on it's age demographic. I gave Jem a chance, why not ponies?

It turned out I liked My Little Pony, but I didn't jump on the brony wagon yet. I watched a few episodes here and there, mainly the first two episodes and "Call of the Cutie," yet I didn't stick around long. Went back to my regularly programmed Transformers: Prime after a while.

So a year later, I caught a few more episodes of My Little Pony. Namely "A Friend in Deed" and...I think it was "Dragon Quest?" I said to myself: Damn this show is good. Yet, for some reason, after watching a handful of episodes, I still didn't become a brony.

And it wasn't until I was watching some Dr. Smoov in August of 2012. He did a parody of Epic Meal Time called "Epic Mega Time" where they made the "Ultimate Energon Cube." And in the suggestions was "Epic Cupcake Time." Curiosity hit me, and after Dr. Smoov was over I checked out Epic Cupcake Time. It was hilarious, so I watched "Epic Pie Time." Then "Epic Wub Time." Then every video of ponies Mr. Nomorethan9 ever made. Now I was becoming a fan of MLP. I started watching the show...its episodes...in order.  One by one. I finished 52 episodes within three days. Started reading fanfics, lookin' at art, watching VA panels.

I told myself (I talk to myself a lot): "Self. Face the facts, goddammit. You're a brony."

Happily one ever since!  :)

Alright kids, gather round! *Takes storybook out of nowhere* It's story time!

Kids: Yaaay!

So, our story begins in July 2012, as a kind of young boy was bored. He kept hearing the term "Brony" thrown around on the internet, but didn't know what it meant: A brony was a male fan of My Little Pony. "What?!" He said. "How could any male like My Little Pony?!" And he became a hater, insulting Bronies nonstop. However, things began to change when his younger sister watched an episode, and his eyes were glued to the screen. "Green Isn't Your Color", the episode was curiously entitled. That night, he got onto Youtube, and watched an episode. And another. And another. And another. He was hooked.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

Well, I first heard about the show a while before it came out and found out that Lauren Faust and Rob Renzetti were working on it, so I screamed with delight and then forgot about it for a while.

I finally started watching the show when it was well into it's first season after a friend reminded me of it. I was disappointed at first but continued watching it anyway because I loved the characters and the animation. Eventually, I got into it.

Then people started calling me a Brony for some reason. JmPL5.png

On a related note, walking down the pink isle looking for ponies wearing all black, platform boots and a buck ton of black eye liner is glorious and I recommend it to everyone.

Curiosity mostly. I saw that a lot of my friends online were becoming bronies, so I decided to give it a shot, and low and behold, I became one.

Thankfully, a lot of my friends IRL were also fans

The first episode I watched was about two years ago, 'Fall Weather Friends'. I've gotta say, I was impressed, but I didn't continue watching it. Then, a year or so later, I decided to watch the pilot, just to see. Watched part one. Liked it. Forgot about it. A few months later I watched part two. Squeed with pure excitement the whole way through. Loved it. But that still didn't convert me. I converted fully when I watched Hurricane Fluttershy.  ;)

I was a fighter. But I had to give into it. I loved the show! :D But of course, I was completely ashamed of it. Until I found out one of my friends was a brony, too. *squee*

That...basically summed it all up for me, lol. Well, I wasn't that accepting at first. When I watched Roll around the clock    the first two episodes, I wasn't instantly hooked, but it was rather instant.

It's kind of hard to articulate when I exactly became a brony.

About April, my brother started watching it with the belief that it was helping him sleep(bad case of insomnia). Well, that was his excuse-- he also objectively admired the animation and the flawed characters. At first, I thought he was crazy-- then, while he was watching it, I sat down with him for a few episodes, and by about May I respected that the show wasn't horrible and for little girls.

By July, I went to Comicon and saw a lot of pony cosplays, and both my brother and cousin were making references I didn't understand. So I started at the beginning and flipped through a couple episodes.

Then in august, I joined Marching Band and met several bronies of many different grade levels, and decided that i had to finish it. So I pretty much watched the rest of it in a week, and the last episode really brought me into the fandom. Now I can't climb out!

your daily dose of unoriginality.

A couple months ago, maybe around September or October, i was in my basement with a netbook and a mild cleaning project on my truck. I needed to fill the background with some sort of sound, and i had recently added MLP to my netflix que, after hearing that it was a good show. One episode deep, i had cringed a few times, as i wasnt used to this sort of thing, but i was slowly becoming sold on the show. Fast forward a few days, and the idea of watching more episodes was lingering in my mind. I returned to my netbook and netflix and started watching, and before i knew it, i was singing along to the theme song and genuinely enjoying the show. I still didnt consider myself a brony yet, as i hadnt taken the plunge into the community or spent any more... sans a netflix subscription. Finally i joined a forum (first time in several years btw), and bought my first piece of merchandise. The rest you could say is brony history.

For the record, i hate the word "Brony", and i consider myself an Equestrist.

November, if I remember correctly. It started with "I'm going to watch this show to make fun of how stupid it is" and ended with a conversion to bronyism.

I became an official brony (meaning I accepted to myself that I loved the show) on July 2012. I mostly started to watch the show because I saw a review on it in the Internet. Wanted to see what the fuss was about (plus I was bored with my summer vacation at this point) and was hooked.

And that's how Equestria was made. :)

Maybe next time I will tell you when I became a brony.

I being a furry was on some furry image sites

And I found MLP art everywhere

So I went and looked up about the whole MLP thing

I found out about the fandom, some clips from the series, and fan made things

Eventually I thought okay I might as well give the show a try for myself and see what it's like

And I watched it, and I thought that it was a pretty good series

One of my friends called me a faggot about 99999 times a day for not watching it. So i gave it a try, didnt understand why people loved it so much, it was a nice show but nothing speical. Then, a few days later, i was doing some random chores, then i suddenly realized im addicted to that show. Watched all the episodes untill season 3 episode 10 in about 4 days.

Well, i had heard about it from a friend before, and i watched one episode, but i wasn't hooked, though i did find it a little bit interesting. A couple months later, we got netflix and my younger siblings started to watch it daily, well i got in the habit of watching with them, and i eventually got hooked and liked the show enough to call myself a brony.
