Ending of Toy Story 3, hands down. Closest I've ever been to crying during a movie. And I don't cry for anything. It's not that I don't get sad, I just don't cry. Not out of choice or fear of looking weak, it just doesn't happen. I used to cry, but ever since sometime in middle school, I am physically unable cry anymore. Or at least, it seems that way. I'm not sure why.

Tangled. The scene where Rapunzel's Mother and Father set off the lantern and he begins to cry. The look on their faces seems so real and I could feel their pain. It was beautiful.

 

Also, the ending to Pocahontas makes me cry. So gorgeous and the music in the background is so powerful.

The ending of Batman: Under the Redhood (the flashback scene of Jason's first night as Robin) was the saddest scene of an animated film for me. Well, the whole film is sad, but this scene was a real tear jerker for me.

Mufasa from the Lion King for me, is still unbeatable for me. It's not just his death, it's also the whole atmosphere of it that contribute to the scene.

Some of the saddest moments in animated movies that I can think of would have to be;

The entire opening montage for UP

When Joy broke down in the forgotten memories pit in Inside Out

As well as when Riley tried to run away and she was unable to feel any emotions.

Stoick's death in How To Train Your Dragon 2

When Jiro's love interest in The Wind Rises has to go to the sanitarium.

The end of Watership Down, when Hazel is old, and the Black Rabbit of Inle comes for him, and invites him to join his Owsla, leaving behind him a large and successful warren.  It's a very bittersweet ending to the film.

3: That heart wrenching montage at the beginning of Up.

4: The end of The Iron Giant.

6: When Stoik is killed by Toothless in How To Train Your Dragon 2!

7: Pretty much everything in the last 15 minutes or so of Inside Out.

8: When Ash is turned to stone (or whatever) in the first Pokémon movie. Gets me every time, so I'd say it's the saddest in my opinion!
