Opinions on Smoking

I will admit I do partake in the devils lettuce. To help it burn its common that people mix in a very small layer of tobacco at the bottom to help it burn easier since weed surprisingly doesn't burn all that well. Hmm, well compared to tobacco anyway.

Occasionally if I am on a nightout, and my friend offers me an E-Cig drag or cig drag in general I will take a few drags, its calming, helps sober me up I guess? So I can see the appeal of smoking if people just need that calming feeling or a de-stresser in general. My mum has smoked cigs for years though so I've become like... Smell blind to the 'bad' smell of it, I kinda like the smell of it now I guess? That or I don't smell it at all most of the time. I won't go out of my way to smoke cigs though. It would take a very drunk me, or a very stressed me to give in but again to each their own, every human makes their own choices.

I will never smoke. I've gone my whole life without it, so why start now? The only smoking I tolerate is cigarettes, mainly because both my parents smoke, but as for vapes, e-cigs, weed, etc. I don't support in any way, shape or form.

I will never smoke because I've seen the effects of smoking firsthand. I don't want to have a collapsed lung along with a barely functioning one and develop rheumatoid arthritis so severe that the doctor who diagnoses you with it barely understood how you could even use your hands at all. Seriously they have a test for RA and my dad (who I'm talking about here) scored so high on it that I remember him saying the doctor was absolutely floored. As for the lungs, well, it's amazing he can even breathe. At this point he may as well be breathing underwater.

 

Yeah, my dad's health is quite the deterrent for me smoking any sort of tobacco, I'll say.

I used to live with my aunt who had the nastiest smoker's cough while my mom was going through med school.  Her cough is what keeps me from smoking because I don't want to go down that spiral like she did, she's been trying to quit since I was a kid and hasn't really made the effort to kick the habit.  She's shown me not to bother with smoking.  It helps that I find cigarette and cigar smoke to be obnoxious and it gives me headaches.  My current neighbours smoke, one of the reasons I don't like summer is because their smoke comes through my open bedroom window and there's not much I can do besides leave my window open or it'll get too hot in my room.  They've been smoking more lately and arguing more too, the two are probably related.

I have decided to start smoking when I turn 60. That's my goal. To me that is as idiotic as smoking in the first place.

I don’t like it.  It’s gross, it stinks, it doesn’t make you cool, and it seems like almost every smoker uses the world like it’s their g**d*** ashtray instead of disposing of the butts properly.

I don't smoke at all and i will never do it. The smell from cigars/cigarette is uncomfortable to me. 

l don't even take my aunt with my car, because she smoke too much and when it smells in the car, i don't feel too good while i'm driving.

Very similar here. I don't like smell and will never smoke at all, but I can tolerate if I have to. Nowadays ppl wouldnt start to smoke that easily in other ppl apartment etc.

Oh lord... Looks like I'm the outcast here but I do agree, smoking is very bad for you despite the fact that I do smoke. My mom, dad, brother, boyfriend, and mom's boyfriend smokes so it's kind of hard not to be exposed to it. I know I shouldn't smoke at all since I have Asthma but I try to limit my smoking to two to three cigarettes' a day. Sometimes I'll skip a day or two without smoking so it's not every single day but that doesn't make it alright either. I have no intention to make it a life-long habit so I'll probably stop around twenty-five to thirty years old.

I think it's gross, just completely and utterly disgusting. I've never tried a cigarette before and I will militantly avoid them for life - three of my grandparents smoked heavily and my dad smoked when I was younger, so I feel as though I probably have a genetic propensity.

It's annoying, because all of my neighbours are smoking. Which means I can't let in fresh air as much as I want. Or being near one who smokes, it makes your throat, nose and eyes burn and afterwards all your clothes, hair and skin will stink extremely bad. As long as it's not affecting me I don't care.

But I don't see the point in it. Cigarettes, drugs, alcohol - all this stuff is not required to be happy in life.
