What's there to fear? She has appeared so calm and understanding throughout the show so I don't think I'd hesitate if that was what she really wanted.  I think petting Alma's belly would be more risky as she's a rather furious cat, but that isn't quite true for Celestia.

Given her power I'd be nervous. But after some time I think I'd be calm enough to do so. I LOVE Celestia - her beauty, the motherly tone of her voice, and how genial she is when conducting herself around others. And don't get me started on her sister, too...

it wasn't long after I started watching the show did I start having dreams about them cuddling me in bed and stuff tbh.
