I'm both curious and excited for this episode! I can't help but wonder if RD is under some kind of mind control, especially since she's always been the most hostile and distrusting towards Discord....but I hope that's not the case. It'd be great to see the rest of the Mane 6 finally bond with him. But I do wonder what would cause it to happen in just three days time. Whatever the case I love anything with Discord! Unfortunately I'm gonna be at an event Saturday morning so I'll hafta catch it online later (which will be more enjoyable than livestream anyway, mine always glitches and lags - not to mention commercials)

They already make us doubt discord, because his snake comment is very symbolic. Snakes can't be trusted, because they are the reason Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden, destroying the reputation of snakes for all eternity.   But i digress...

 

So either Discord used hypnosis/mind-control on the mane 6, or something happend that they are suddenly good friends.

I'm honestly surprised at the abundance of people who immediately distrust Discord (I don't mean just here. I've seen it elsewhere too).

 

When I read the summary about Twilight thinking Discord is up to something, I immediately thought, "This is going to be another episode where Twilight suspects something is happening that isn't really happening." After the Tirek incident, I doubt Discord would do anything to Mane Six, plus he seems to be above hypnotism at this point.

I'm really hoping this ends with Twilight actually being wrong and the mane 6 sans Fluttershy actually do end up getting along with him

 

I'd be a nice change of pace from seeing Discord driving everyone nuts(as much as I enjoy that)

 

Also in a sense, I can totally see Dash and Discord getting along together just for their love of pranks

Before seeing the preview, I wasn't really sure how this episode would turn out. After seeing the preview, I can't wait to see the new episode Saturday. This episode looks like it's going to be very promising and really funny.

Okay first things first WORST. TRAILER. TIME. RELEASE. EVER! Seriously I started work as soon as this came out. 

 

Anyways as to the clip itself, another one without background music.  While I don't pay attention to it as much as in other shows, it's absence is noticeable from the get go. 

 

Now it does appear that while Discord and Rainbow Dash being friends is odd, nothing about this suggests mind control outside it's oddness, at least to me. Not to say it can't go that way but if so it's not going to be obvious. 

 

So I think this will go down one of three ways:

 

Option A: No Brainwashing. Discord didn't do anything, actually made friends with the Mane 6 and Twilight learns a lesson about not jumping to conclusions/trusting your friends/Not randomly accusing people just because you don't like something about them.

 

Option B: Brainwashing. Discord did do something to the Mane 6 and Twilight fixes it. We learn that Discord does want to be friends with them but they're being so hostile to him, but Twilight teaches him a lesson about how friendship is about give and take and opening yourself up to other.

 

Option C: Brainwashing by a third party, aka Fluttershy.  Fluttershy sees that Discord wants to befriend the Mane 6 but they aren't giving him a chance so Fluttershy whips up a potion (Maybe with Zecora cause Celestia knows she needs the screen time) that changes everyone else's perceptions on Discord. Twilight comes in and puts an end to it and we get the combined lesson of Options A and B, except Fluttershy in B or something similar.  

 

Now no matter what at the end of this all the Mane 6 are going to be all buddy buddy with Discord, 

The main reason being that they're going to reform Starlight Glimmer and pretty much instantly forgive her, so having a villain who did pretty much the same thing as Starlight but still holding a grudge against them makes them hypocritical (also a bit pony-centric)  so it's got to go and they need to make up with Discord

 

 

That being said I would love it if they did one of the following instead:

 

Option C v2: Fluttershy does brainwash the others, but instead as a birthday present, giving Discord an overly frustrated Twilight as well as messing with the Mane 6's head but in her own way as to not truly hurt anyone. Discord loves it and the two talk about how much fun it was while the rest of the Mane 6 are just stunned. 

 

Option D; The Bet. The entire set up is a bet to see how long Twilight would go without snapping at Discord. Basically Discord says Twilight's not all that trusting and the rest of the Mane 6 (sans Fluttershy because she's not participating) say he's wrong, so Discord comes up with this bet and has everyone else in on the plan because they have something to gain by Twilight not blowing her lid in a set amount of time.  

 

 

I would just love to see the last two since they appeal to my sense of humor more, but it's unlikely because there's no moral message at the end of it.
