web When Do You Dislike YouTube Videos?

I tend to be much more reserved in disliking Youtube videos than liking them.

For creative works (music, animation, etc.) I avoid disliking very small videos (100 views or less) because I know how disheartening receiving dislikes can be for someone just starting out. I don't mind disliking videos of creative works with more views; the more the views, the less hesitant I am to give a video a dislike if I don't like it.

 

I don't have a problem with disliking opinion videos that I disagree with, though.

Personally, never. I don't really give that many likes either, only for content creators that I like to support, or, of course, on videos I really liked.

 

But if I were to interact more with YouTube, then I'd give them if I disliked the content (obviously ). If the video was violating YouTube's rules or was offensive, then I'd report it instead.

well as a small fish so to speak making my own content a dislike can be a bit disheartening, but it makes me more determined to make a better video in the future so I see them as honest feed back a bit like "you can do better mate" but they are there for a reason and should be used if you dislike the content,

I usually find myself disliking poorly constructed videos (to my taste). I rarely find myself actively watching content that I personally disagree with or which I have no interest in.

I dislike only when video is:

Meant to offend somebody (Hate videos)

When name or picture (or both) lies what video contains.

I rarely ever give likes or dislikes to YouTube videos because I always forget to.

 

But when I do remember to dislike one, it's usually to give feedback to someone I'm subscribed to so they can improve their channel's content. When that happens I also follow with a comment explaining why I didn't like it.

And, of course, also when I feel offended by the video somehow, or when it offends someone else.

I don't really do dislikes on YouTube anymore. Mostly If I see a video that's either bad, or just plain trolling, I would just click away from it.

I've disliked about... 2 videos maybe? I've liked over 2000 though. I would only dislike a video if it in some way is abusive or recist. Most of the time I hust leave the video if I find it boring etc.

I never dislike the videos, even if I really don't like what I can see sometimes. (Video with hate etc).

I just ignore. A dislike won't change anything I think..

I've never disliked a video so far.

If anyone critizise the lack of quality by my own videos.

I'll listen, and if I find it justified i will apologize

and make it better the next time.

But simply dislikes don't help to to improve the work of anyone.

I tend not to dislike many YouTube videos, purely because I know how unpromising it is to spot a few on videos you worked hard on, although if the content is offensive I will click that thumbs-down button. So videos that are racist, sexist, homophobic, or inappropriate, I will sometimes leave a dislike, but usually I just ignore it and watch a different one.

I rarely ever use the like/dislike function on YouTube, in fact I tend not to ever scroll down beyond the actual player itself. If it's a video I dislike or am just simply uninterested in, I'm probably gonna close out of it faster than I am clicking a thumb down button

 

Likewise, I don't really bother giving thumbs up either. If it's a decently made video it's probably going to have a fair amount of up votes anyway, so people will already see that it's good. Don't need my vote to make any real difference there I would think.

I find myself disliking a video if:

• The person is collaborating with someone

What's wrong with collaborating with someone? Or is that a typo?

Even if I find a video to be poorly produced, I still like it if the information helped me out. If it's so poorly made that I can't get anything out of it, I usually just stop watching.

I only dislike videos if the creator really rubs me the wrong way with things they say or do in the video. I generally don't finish watching videos I don't like and don't bother disliking them, but some people (always invoking Poe's Law) get me riled up enough to overcome my common sense and dislike the video and leave a fuming comment. It's a trait I'm getting better at overcoming, though, so I hardly ever dislike videos anymore.

I generally don't dislike videos. There are some situations where I dislike a video but those are few and far between.

One more question, do you think it's okay to dislike a video of a bad vocal cover of someone who's not a singer?

I've run across a few of those. While I admire the bravery (or perhaps stupidity ) of the people who upload them, they sound awful. I avoid disliking those so I don't look like an ass.

 

Do you think this is necessary to avoid?

I never dislike videos unless its something offensive. I just go to the next video, now that I think about it I haven't used the like/dislike system in my life! o.O
