spoiler Starlight and Future Episodes?

Whether or not it's wanted, I believe Starlight is going to have a huge role in this season. Sort of like how Season 4's theme was being true to your element and Season 5's was Cutie Marks and the Cutie Map, I think this season will revolve around Starlight's friendship lessons. Here's why:

During the scene where Twilight was reading off some of her ideas, two stand out:

 

1. Making friends with a griffin

2. Spending time with the CMC (Admittedly, I wasn't paying full attention during this line, so she may have said something else and not CMC.)

 

We know there's a CMC episode coming up, and we know griffons will also have a role this season. Perfect time for Starlight to try out these things.

 

 

I don't expect her to appear every single episode, but I definitely think she'll have more prominence than, say Zecora or Discord.

Well, this seasons theme is "Exploring Equestria", so I imagine that's what they'll be doing, possibly continuing with the use of the map, having it call the mane six off to various places.

 

 But, I do think Starlight's friendship lessons will also probably play a big role, being that one of the lessons was making friends with a Griffon, I imagine Starlight might be accompanying them on some these trips, perhaps making her own new group of friends out of them? She's already got Sunburst back, and she seems to be pretty good pals with Spike already too.

I have no problem with her appearing more in the series itself. She was pretty much the only element of the premiere that I actually liked. I like her as a character and I still hope we'll learn why she is so incredibly powerful.

As long as her focus doesn't lead to others getting season 3 Rarity or season 5 Fluttershy treatment, I am fine with Starlight's role this season.

As much as I love characters like Zecora, Trixie, or Sunset (who still needs a cameo in FiM ), I am very much intrigued by the part that Starlight will play this season. He interactions with certain characters prove that she has plenty of potential, so I'm actuallu excited by the possibilities.

I am very excited about her appearing later on. She was the highlight of the premiere, together with Spike (which surprised me)

I wouldn't have an issue with her becoming a recurring character, but I really hope they don't try to shoehorn her into every episode.  And I hope whatever episodes she does appear in are better than Discords last two outings.  Discord has plenty to offer as a character but 'Make new friends but keep Discord' and 'What about Discord' were easily two of the weakest episodes in the cartoon so far.  I am resigned to the fact that Starlight will be making regular appearances, I just hope they do it right.

Starlight is the new sunset shimmer; Look at friendship games. Pretty much, I expect at least 2 solo episodes for starlight, a heavy role in at least one of twilight's SOL episodes, and the two parter to revolve around her character arc.

I don't want Solo episodes though! I want pair up episodes. I mean seriously you gonna introduce a new character to the main cast? Gotta take the oppertunity to establish dynamics between them and the other characters as fast as possible. 

 

 

Maybe I am just saying this because I want as many episodes as possible to have Rarity ether as the star or Co-Star but I don't freaking care. OKAY. Really my "dream season" is basically 26 Rarity episodes.

"solo episode" i more mean an episode revolving around that character like how amending fences was a twilight episode but still had Pinkie in it supporting or how Hurricane fluttershy was a fluttershy episode but still had heavy amounts of dash in it.

Well, we don't know whether Starlight has officially joined the mane six, but when a new character is introduced in a series like this, and happens to be a prominent character going forward, he or she needs to be developed, and so at first commands more of the spotlight than most established characters. That particular trope is usually temporary, as the character in question is eventually integrated into the main cast as just another one of them, and so won't command any more of the spotlight than other supporting characters from that point on. Introducing a new character often either derails a series, or refreshes it. I'm hoping with Starlight it'll be the latter, and the season 6 premiere makes me hopeful that that will be the case. There are also some cases where adding a new character just sort of adds a new character and not much else changes, but I doubt that's what will happen with FiM.

If there was another alicorn joining the Mane cast, the balance would be fully restored. 2 alicorns, 2 unicorns, 2 pegasi and 2 earth ponies.
