Always did envy my dad for his long, straight hair and have always held that hair exemplifies your personality & thought process... Now that I'm on my own... I have sworn to grow it out continuously. Like, floor length eventually. Yes, as a male. It's so floofy n' soft! It's like a constant face hug! Sure, its grown down to my mouth now and my face does get itchy, but it hasn't outweighed how much I love having a fluffy cloud of a head! 1 Beatings & Salivations Everybeing! Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread! Thuja 3,659 March 6, 2020 Share March 6, 2020 (edited) I like my hair long, it's around mid-back length now since I started growing it out a few years ago. I think I should get it trimmed at some point, I ended up taking some damage off of a few strands that probably went up about 2 inches. A trim is long over-due at this point lol. I'd like to braid it at some point too but my hair is difficult to deal with on the best days, so I just leave it be. Also, kinda annoying when people misgender me when looking at my back. Even with a dang beard I STILL get called "she" or "ma'am". I wish people didn't equate hair length with what gender you are, some cultures prefer people of any gender or sex to have long hair. But the nice thing is some people have to have conversations with their kids "Yes, men can have long hair too" and you see this little kid's head explode over that. I remember this one little girl got excited over it and asked her parent/guardian if she could have short hair if boys could have long hair. I don't really care either way, I just decided I wanna go back to long hair. Though it is a lot more maintenance to a longer hair not just growing it you actually do have to take good care of it. While I personally prefer having longer hair there is always the challenges of when you are going for a trim rarely do they listen haha. When I mean a trim I do mean a trim but hey is fine shortening on the side from time to time you know. So while I personally love I enjoy doing skin and haircare routines some might not. BlankFlank777 199 May 2, 2020 Share May 2, 2020 My parents always made me keep my hair short till I was in highschool cause of their religiousness, but they eventually stopped fighting me growing my hair out. I've let people convince me to cut it short again many times since then, but since I last got it cut (I have no clue when that was), I decided I'm done cutting it unless I need to for health reasons. I always miss my long hair after I cut it. There are a lot of advantages to having short hair but I feel more myself when my hair is long. I think that's partly because growing my hair out was one of the first ways I openly defied my parents when I was starting to think for myself and that's helped make me who I am. And now I think of my long hair as a symbol of my divergence in general, my individuality, my integrity, my freedom, my connection to nature, my health, and everything. I usually get it cut really short, though I do let it get a bit long after a while. It's about down low enough to be around my shoulder blades now! Longer when it's wet as I do have very curly hair. It's more Wavy as of late though. It has gotten irritating though to have my dry, wispy forelock right over my eyes. But I don't want to cut it short and just have a Mega-Mullet. But I do aim to have it long enough to just waterfall off my back. Long hair has always looked so pretty and cool! ...that, and I do have my Mother's hair type and face shape so I would have to go quite a bit longer than her's to look notably different, heh! And, uh, it does help that here in 2020... I kinda don't want to go out to get a haircut. I don't see how that's done while in Social Distancing. If it weren't for the pandemic and the fact that cutting your hair is an unnecessary thing really, I would've cut mine already to keep it short. As it stands, it's already touching my shoulders.
