Which pony least lives up to her element?

In my opinion Rarity does do things that looks like she contradicts her element because it usually involves prioritizing her own self interest above anyone else. In addition to this, generosity is misunderstood by people. Just cause you like to give your friends a lot of stuff doesn't mean you're generous. Generosity involves sacrifice to oneself and the only time Rarity ever did that was cutting off her tail for the serpent's mustache. She didn't even know her tail would grow back instantly after getting the elements at the time. You could say there was also that time she was making dresses for her friends but I only saw that the other 5 ponies were being ungrateful jerks to her.

 

I think its interesting that the writers could use Spike as a counter balance to her in terms of generosity/greed. Especially since greed biologically influences dragons on the show. I bet there's going to be a future episode where Rarity expresses true generosity and Spike might be the recipient of that act.

lol, it's kind of an on and off thing. she can be sort of selfish/greedy, but she can be generous too. she's rarity, she does what she wants

I have the feeling Rarity is going to be thrown under the bus a lot here, but she's really the only one I can think of, from using Spike's feelings to get the ruby from him to grabbing the bouquet that Cadence threw. I'll give you the dresses she made for the rest of the Mane 6, but many other times she acts in a less than generous manner.

While Rarity is one of my fav ponies I have to agree, she is most of the time, sometimes it seems she more so represent the Element of Disharmony : Greed or selfishness. not full blown but yeah

Hmm... I don't know as regards rarity -- The way I see her do things, she gives away so many dresses to her friends and the elite that it is a wonder she hasn't gone bankrupt. She is like an artist who will push to extend her art at the expense of bits. You do NOT see her ever obsess about bits like say applejack does. All in all I would say that from making birds nests to charity, she does her element just fine.

Yeah, RD slips up quite a bit in her loyalty, but "generous" is clearly the wrong word to describe Rarity, at least most of the time. (Though she does have her heart-warming moments.)

Well a poll like this might change from time to time -- if the old poll is truly old (lets say season 1 old) then you would possibly have a much different opinion than you would now after the 2 full seasons.

 

In my opinion though NONE of the six really abuses their element. The only one I would have to even think about would be Twilight -- and that because the magic element of friendship is harder to pin down than the others -- In essence she would fail whenever she obsesses and puts other trivialities ahead of her friends.

I honestly voted for Rainbow Dash. Applejack just seems more loyal than her, and Rainbow can be a bit of a jerk at times to her friends. Not saying she isn't loyal or a good pony, she just doesn't appear to be outwardly loyal.

Rainbowdash so may times rainbow dash has abadoned or thrown her freinds off the bus many times I can think atleast 2-3times suspiscoiusly 2 of those are about apple jack I would say rarity but shes made dresses and eventually went to the sister hooves episode and got muddy but other than the one glinda episode rainbow dash ive never seen rainbow dash show loyalty that isnt in a elements of harmony related 2 part episode

Rarity has been shown multiple times to not be very generous. Also, Rainbow Dash is often narcissistic and goes off on her own.

I'd say Rarity for completely shoving off Twilight's birthday party, the bouquet in A canterlot wedding and also the time she gave absolutely no reason for refusing to babysit the baby cakes, that's generous. While all the mane 6 had flaws with their element, Rarity seems to have them regularly.

I don't understand why people believe Rarity is not generous - sure, she can be greedy at times, but I'm sure even the most generous people are somewhat greedy. Living proof of Rarity's element is exemplified in her episode "Suited for Success", during which she shows immense generosity towards her friends.

Rainbow Dash. I can see how the writers for the show just put her as the element of loyalty to cover up all of her many flaws. Just my biased opinion though, i'm sure that if Dash wasn't my least favorite of the mane six i would definitely not be saying this.
