Does Luna really call Celestia "Tia"?

Nah, pure fandom thing since times immemorial. According to the Journal of the Two Sisters, Luna at least used to call her "Cellie" (I write it as Celly, but it's pronounced the same way   :-P )

Well, after watching every episode of MLP-FIM. I don't ever hear Luna calling Celestia 'Tia'. Maybe in fanfics and other non-canon material, but officially in canon, Nope.

She doesn't, but she should! Seriously, how cute would that be? The best scenario to introduce this in would be a slice of life episode with Celestia and Luna doing sisterly bonding. Then again, I've always wanted that to happen as well yet it has not happened. :\

I think she does call her Tia on occasion, or at least she did when they were little. But that is fanon.

I agree. Especially since "tia" means "aunt" in spanish. :-P Even though I know it's a name, in the back of my mind I'm thinking "Auntie!".

It's a fandom thing that has become a common theme though in the show, Luna refers to Celestia as "my sister" most of the time with the occasional use of her actual name.

I hate the fandom nickname given to her. It's stupid, and "Celie" (as coined canon by the Journal of the Two Sisters) sounds a lot better. As far as the show goes, however- as many others have brought out, Luna doesn't have an affectionate nickame for her. "My Sister", or her full name is only spoken

I sure wish Luna would call her sister Tia.  I've always loved that nickname.  Didn't really care for Celie, as she called her in the Journal of the Two Sisters.
