Littering

No. But I've seen people miss a trash can and walk away. If you can't be 100% litter-free - at least try to be.

You want to know how Disneyland is kept so clean? Trashcans are strategically placed within 30 feet of each other so that people don't have to walk far to throw their trash away. Because of this people are compelled to throw their trash away and set a good example for others to do the same. My stepsister calls it the "Disneyland Effect: When you set a good example, others will follow!" How fitting, seeing how Walt wanted his company and its works to be enjoyed by people of all ages, backgrounds, and origins.

A Dragon as big as his love for Disney and has his head in the clouds literally and figuratively

A good majority of my family does it... it urks me because I feel there is nothing I can do about it. Litterbugs in general just annoy me, I always grin when I see them get a fine for it.

Not personally, and yes I am that guy who will say something when I see it, especially if it's near a trashcan. I also hate it when people toss garbage out of their car windows. :/

I don't know anybody personally who does it, but I see people all the time who toss stuff out their car windows. Disgusts me every time. Especially when there's a trash can nearby. I'm a little more forgiving if it's something like popcorn inside a movie theater, but if it's a beer can on the sidewalk I'm always annoyed. On a college campus it's really frustrating because they strategically put a bunch of trash cans and big recycling bins out in plain sight, yet you still see people tossing their unwanted crap. Ugh.

I don't pay enough attention to the people around me to know, but it does annoy me whenever I find litter, and especially when they clearly were too lazy to walk ten feet to the trashcan. When I see litter I'm pretty much guaranteed to pick it up.

I have to agree with those saying how annoying littering can be.

I mean come on people, is it really that hard to throw your trash into the can that is like right next to you?

I'm completely against it and it is worse than most people think it is. I do metal detecting as a hobby and the amount of trash under the ground is much more than than above the ground. There are full soda cans, rusty nails and all sorts of junk just inches beneath our feet. It really shows just how much junk there is under the ground, since people litter all the time and most of the time nobody can be bothered to pick them up, so they just sink. What I find doesn't even include anything non-metallic.

It's just a disgusting habit, and no better than when a dog takes a dumper in the yard, only people should have the intelligence to know better. Trash cans are everywhere for a reason; it isn't hard to put trash where it belongs. People who litter should be tied up in a big Flex garbage bag and left on the curb for the men with the noisy truck to haul away.

I don't know anyone specifically that does it, but it seriously pisses me off if I see anyone doing it. It is so pointless and does nothing but make a town feel worse. It shows how much a person simply doesn't care.

I try my best to never litter but I'm not as strict as my friend. There was this time when we were in Vienna on holiday and I opened a chocolate bar and some of the foil ripped off in the wind and blew down the road without me noticing. My friend noticed though and refused to walk another step until I ran all the way down the road and picked it up. Vienna is a nice city though so I suppose she was just trying to keep it that way.

I don't litter, even though it's mostly fine in my country, there is like -1 control over it. From what I've seen my friends don't do it either, though I wouldn't control them much if they did.

I remember there was an well known spot near a river called the Dunes where a bunch of college kids liked it as a hang out, and the party goers especially took to it.

The waterfront was left seriously trashed on multiple ocassions. Officials finally closed the place down, because they were tired of it being littered with everything under the sun. A year later, after much lamenting of the loss of an awesome hangout spot, the Dunes were repoened and strictly enforced. The amount of litter being thrown around was dang near to zero, and people finally seemed to grasp the concept of "pack out what you pack in."

Areas that are already clean seem to stay clean. I had two friends a while back that casually crushed and threw their beer cans along a sandy area where people commonly walked barefoot, and when I spoke up, they were like "lol calm down, the place is already a dump anyway." Why make it worse? I had a rusty fishhook tear through my skirt that same day, which someone left wrapped in line around a nearby tree! :wau:

My personal peeve is seeing litter on the water or far out into remote natural areas. Like... You hiked 20 miles into the wilderness to leave your Nature Valley granola bar wrapper impaled on a branch? Really?!? :unamused:

This pretty much sums up my view on the subject. When I was younger I went to pick up plastic and stuff I found in the woods during break in school haha

Littering is a Crime just as much as Keep Off The Grass. I don't think most people care. XD

Also, I pick other people's trash because I'm silly like that :P.

Littering can be really annoying and it messes up the overal feel of a place but I simply don't care much because there is nothing I can do.
I usually just pocket my paper until I can get rid off it. I never fancied messing up a place.

I despise littering with a passion. I'm not even sure why, I just think it's infuriating that some people can't be bothered with the least of troubles and instead push their problems on others.

I don't know anyone who personally litters, but I can't stand people that throw trash on the side of the road. Every once in a while, I'll find a candy wrapper near the road.

Some of the other back roads tho, you'll see beer bottles and skoal cans laying in the grass. :unamused:

I'm totally against littering. I also wish something could be done about all the cigarette butts I see lying around at train stations and such. The only time I actually wanted to litter was when I was 3 years old and thought it was cool to leave trash on the ground or something. I had some strange ideas back then. :mlp_huh:
