This was not something we thought we’d hear at today’s Toy Fair 2018 Hasbro Investor Preview.

Hasbro specifically stated that a new team at Paramount will reset the Transformers Live Action Movie Series following the release of Bumblebee: The Movie.

Sure enough, the company has removed Transformers 6 (sequel to Transformers: The Last Knight) from the upcoming list of movies. [Guess we are stuck with a cliffhanger, eh?]

Additionally, there is no Transformers Live Action Movie listed for the foreseeable future (2021). Whatever that may come, will only come (on or) after the aforementioned year.

Furthermore, the new agreement with Paramount will have Hasbro having greater control of the movies including greenlighting the movie projects. $100-$125 Million will be spent by Hasbro for Film and TV content in 2018.

Bumblebee: The Movie trailer or sizzle reel made its debut to the investors at the event. Unfortunately we were not able to see it.

Admittedly I was curious to see how Bayformers would have handled Unicron considering the Last Knight left that cliffhanger there, but goddamn it's about time, this series went on for 4 movies more than it deserved

I'd rather wait a while before Hasbro decides to reboot the franchise, give people a breather.

Good.

Although does this mean that animated Transformers movie that was announced a while ago is canceled now?  Because if I were to recall it was supposed to be a prequel to the first Bayformers movie.  Because I was a little curious to see what it would be like.

I'm glad this is happening. You can tell by The Last Knight that they were really running out of ideas because of how ridiculous it turned out.

I would want something more in the vain of Transformers Prime when they reboot it.

That was 5 movies too late, but better late then never. Bay is a disaster and his Transformers movies had absolutely no character or charm, something I highly assume the original Transformers series had. Sounds like they will be taking their time too. Thank you movie gods for striking down this evil, the Bay curse.

About damn time. Bayformers was a complete disgrace to Transformers. Yes, it made a load of dough, but the stories and action are crap. BTW, Bay, trying to titillate the audience with fanservice makes the films even shallower.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

That's good. No more explosions and less competition for other potential movies in the future.

It's true that these Bayformers movie got a lot of money in the box office, but after the first movie, it got repetitive very quickly to the point the 5th movie doesn't make any lick of sense anymore.

Hoping that the Transformers franchise will recover from this soon enough to make more potential good series (hopefully animated).

I remember being pretty young when the first Bayformers movie came out. I freaking LOST muh mind I was so excited. And when I went to see it, I loved it.

But, well... I got older.

I still don’t hate the first one. It’s stupid of course, but it still makes me giggle. But every subsequent one... I think I only got to 3 before I got turned off completely. It just seemed to get dumber and tackier with every film, and I just stopped caring. After all, I could get my Transformer fix in tons of other ways.

I knew the Transformers movie franchise was going down a steep hill when The Last Knight was announced. The main human characters did little-to-nothing but scream, final battles mostly took place in cities and the running time of these movies were considered too long,

I hope this reboot can completely solve those problems. Heck, I'll be darned if they brought back the original animated Transformers theme and the transitions with it. That will certainly be awesome as long as the story is easy to understand.

It's finally over. I have waited 9 years for this moment, but it's finally over.

Maybe after 3-4 years of a break, Hasbro may give the license to somebody more competent and then Transformers could actually become good again.

How about Denis Villeneuve, since he had such a breakthrough with Blade Runner 2049? He could probably give the movie some good storytelling, while also some good action.

That's still happening, but after that, it's done.

I actually enjoyed the first one when it came out despite some of its flaws and odd creative liberties. I remember being excited that it was a financial success because it meant that the sequels could explore some cool territory with the saga.

...

Like you each sequel slowly chipped away any desire to watch. I still haven't seen the last two.

Yeah, the first movie is usually considered the best of the bunch though ymmv on whether it can actually be considered good lol

I only watched the first of the 'Bayverse' films, and it was alright as popcorn fodder... the sequels kept trying to expand lore than the running times to where it wasn't even enjoyable as popcorn fodder for me. To see the Transformer series handled with more caring hands will be a relief to many, although as a Beast Wars fan who hasn't seen Transformers reach that storytelling peak since, I'm still not holding my hopes up too high.

I was kinda glad we need to get the movies we did for the Transformers,   it opened up the Transformers to all new fans!  Just he went way to big with the booms and kept changing the origins of the Transformers!

The first movie was stupid fun. Nothing spectacular, but you can still get enjoyment at parts. But good thing I didn't bothered to watch the rest, and seems I've saved myself of some shit :D . The only good thing I can find in the other movies is Dashie's cameo :dash:

I think the movie made people finally realize how really crappy these movies really are, and lead to it's unplug

It has that "weird, but original" charm to it.

Sadly, Revenge Of The Fallen just devolved everything into this:

The worst part about the Bay films is how they treated the Transformers as just giant robots meant to kill each other and not like actual characters, which coincidentally was the same mentally that nearly killed the franchise in the late 80s
