Mine was Pokemon Emerald. The first pokemon game I managed to beat all by myself WITHOUT help of a guidebook / WITHOUT looking up youtube was Pokemon Diamond.  I achieved the unthinkable by beating the game with only my starter. I wanted to prove to my friends that I could

The first generation I played was the third generation.  But my first game wasn't Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald.  The very first game and the one that got me into the franchise was Pokemon Leaf Green.

Pokemon Red was my first Pokemon game. That was back in the late summer of 1999. I can not believe it's actually been 20 years.

I started in Kanto with Pokemon Red and the amount of Pokemon main series games i haven't played can be counted on one hand: Blue. Gold, Crystal, Sword and Shield. I'm getting a Switch Lite for Christmas so i scratch the latter two off soon.

Pokemon Ruby was my first pokemon game. I was so young back then I couldn't even understand what was really going on, I don't even know how I beat the game back then. I was so used to collecting the cards and playing with my classmates that I thought Pokemon Ruby would use TCG rules. It was until Pokemon Y that I actually invested time into the series and actually knew what I was doing.

The one with the yellow rat in it. But that belonged to my bro, and I thought that the only thing you can do on it is play with Pikachu lol. The first Pokemon game I owned is Ruby.

Oh dear, there are basically three beginnings for me, but to put it simply...

The first game I played was Blue, which I borrowed from my brother, the first one I owned personally was Platinum, but the first one I truly got invested in was Black.

I generally say that I began with Generation 4, all things considered. :darling:

Pokemon Platinum was my first game. Honestly, it could've been Diamond or Pearl since I didn't play it for very long the first time. I didn't play the ones before then because I never had a Game Boy (neither did my older brother).

My first Pokemon game was the original Pokemon Red. I got a Gameboy Color for Christmas and then got Pokemon Red for Easter months later as a reward for good grades.

Technically speaking Fire Red was the first one I owned and played, but I grew up on Diamond/Pearl and they were the games that really pulled me into the series as a whole, and so I prefer to think of those ones as my first Pokemon games, at least in spirit.

Pokémon Red Version. I can't remember all the details, since it's so long ago. But I know how fascinated I was! It was the best thing ever~ Watching the show, playing the games for myself. Catching the Pokémon with those small ball. It was so amazing you can have them with you, I loved the small ball icons in battles. Going out in summer with the thick Game Boy machine. They even sold Pokémon lolipops and other sweets, they were so yummy~! I can't deny the influence thise franchise had on me, I still have an Ash and Pikachu painting hanging in the...toilet. :D Or a few random Generation 1 stickers on the door. Lapras. <3
