Both pictures  are very similar to each other. I am almost sure it is not pure coincidence.

In today pictures it is Rainbow who needs protection:

"Complete and total surrender" and somehow  I am not surprised.

Maybe Rainbow is more brave and stronger than our yellow mare but she is much more determined. Who is not sure about it - he will change his mind reading that book: "The Guardian" 

Sometimes even only pure awareness that caring friend is next to you, can help a lot.

Fluttershy doing something...? The artist was pretty vague on the subject, so I assume it's open to interpretation. What do I think? I believe that she's floating on water, spreading her wings as she lets the ocean carry her.

Yeah, our Wonderful Mare is  really uberpony. She usual is quiet, shy pony so other ponies who don't know Her can think that She is weak and powerless, but without reason, She simply doesn't need to show Her hidden powers. But when it is necessary, when Her friends are in troubles uberpony is always ready, being braver, faster, stronger than Rainbow Dash.

Sadly, I've come across several situations where Flutters is not given credit where it's due.  One example that stands out the most was WatchPony.com's video of the Top 10 Cutest Fluttershy Moments.  One of the entries on the list was from Magic Duel where she wore Rarity's "Dangerous Mission" outfit.  When talking about the entry, he mentioned that the Mane 6 (minus Twilight who'd been banished) were looking for information in the library to defeat Trixie.  He then erroneously said that Spike was the one to find information about the Alicorn Amulet, completely ignoring the fact it clearly showed Fluttershy holding the book open to that spot trying to get everypony's attention long before Spike pointed it out.  But that's just one of numerous occasions where Flutters has been given the shaft.
