It’s been a while since my last vector, and I honestly didn’t expect to make more of these. But I really needed to make at least one for this episode. It was so good. It was nice to see an episode written by someone who actually knew the characters and their story. It was nice to see an episode where other ponies loved Dash for once instead of treating her like garbage. It was nice to see Dash realizing her mistake, sorting everything out, and getting forgiven instead of acting stubbornly OOC just to give an incompetent writer an excuse to punish her again. In sum, it was nice to see an episode where Dash was a character and not the butt of an unfunny joke. On top of it, minor quirks aside, Rainbow Dash’s parents were fantastic, and getting the most touching Scootalove moment after Sleepless in Ponyville was simply amazing.

Parental Glideance may not be perfect, but after a really weak season that I’d rather forget, with a few episodes that I legitimately hate, I’m really happy to see that the show still can have some great episodes that remind me why I loved it.

Did anyone else think that Parental Glideance was one of the best RD-focused episodes in recent times, if not ever?  I'm a massive fan of hers, and look forward to every moment she's on-screen, but I thought this episode really stood out! 

The focus on her background - and her likeable parents - was so intriguing, and it felt like we were there with Scootaloo making all these discoveries!   The parents might have been flawed in their excessive support but there are multiple lessons and morals to learn from this episode, and one of them was that it's okay to let your child develop a bit of independence.    It was cool to see Rainbow and the Wonderbolts doing their everyday duties with fans like signing pictures, posing for pics and ribbon-cuttings; Rainbow's chemistry with Scootaloo seems so genuine, and it was weird to see the fan actually advising the idol (role reversal haha).

RD episodes are always great but I just loved this one, there was so much to take in and I'm curious to know what all you RD fans out there thought about this episode!!

P.S. I'm just gonna go and make a pasta and potato salad sourdough sandwich, back in a bit.

I have no pics to post but I am a Rainbow Dash fan! I even like Rainbow Dash as a breezy. My favorite episode with Dash is probably where she's trying to decide on what sort of pet she should have and ends up with Tank!:ph34r:

Well, time sure does pass. Two and a half years ago, @Princess Aurora Wolf finally succeeded in converting me into a brony, and tomorrow the two of us are finally getting married. 

 

It's kinda weird that the two of us are still doing this with all the bad stuff that's been going on in America lately.

You're absolutely right, darling. She may not have time to pull off a Sonic Rainboom like she did for S.A. and Cadance, but she'd want the best for her fans.
