My business practice would be "Buy local apples, sell cider in next town, buy apples there, sell cider in next town, etc." so I'd be able to market "imported" cider, and then pay back my infringement into the local economy by buying local fare. And travel in a big national loop so that you continue back to cities you've been before- thus both your name gets around, and spread the popularity of other cities' apples and ciders.

 

Certainly a lot better than having an unstable business premise that assumes local ponies would let you "borrow" apples.

 

I'd call my wonderlux invention the "Supreme Cider Sampler 1000".

Hmph. I'd prefer not to fight at all, if I could avoid it. I don't like resorting to violence, because I am what I have termed a realistic pacifist. That is to say, I do everything I can to avoid violence, explore every alternative available...but if it comes down to it, I can and WILL fight, and I am perfectly able to defend myself. Thus the realistic aspect: I recognize that at times violence is necessary and unavoidable, but I do my best to avoid resorting to it in cases where it's not needed.

 

That said, I don't believe I'd want to try to fight any of the four options listed here.

 

Nightmare Moon could wipe me out in a heartbeat with her magic, or possibly just overpower and gore me with her horn.

 

Discord could probably crush me emotionally without breaking a sweat, and like Nightmare Moon he is both physically and magically more powerful than I am.

 

A cockatrice MIGHT be fightable, except I would either have to avoid ever looking at the cockatrice, or use some other method of looking at the cockatrice that protects me from its stoning gaze. I would also have to deal a sufficient knock out/death blow under those circumstances, which would probably be too difficult without some sort of specific weapon available, such as explosives.

 

I wouldn't even want to think about trying to tackle a full grown dragon. That's just insane.

 

So I suppose I would need to pick a different opponent. Trixie would be easily defeatable. Her magic is naught but illusion and worthless trickery. While she's wasting her time trying to bedazzle me with puffs of smoke or tie me up with an enchanted rope, I could probably knock her out in one hit, especially since she's so tiny. Standing only three and a half feet tall will make you rather easy to take down for an almost six foot human, as I am both taller and heavier than she is.

 

Like Blue I could possibly defeat the Flim Flam brothers in a contest of business, though in my case I'd prefer to invent technologies that the ponies lack...granted the list of those technologies is decreasing as more episodes are made, but I'm sure I could still hit upon a suitable invention.

 

I can't think of too many other characters that I could defeat that I would actually have a reason to fight...Gilda would rip me to shreds...there's no reason for me to combat any of the Mane Six or Princess Celestia, or their families...and any of the foals would be like kicking a baby: cruel and horrible.

 

So that's about it on my list.

You seem to under estimate Trixie. Sure, you may be bigger and heavier then she is, but she would probably be faster. Plus, remember the old phrase 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall'? While Trixie's main talent is the art of illusions, that doesn't mean it's her ONLY talent. Trixie probably knows plenty of spells that could hurt ya. After all, we've seen her manipulate small lightning, and who likes electricity? Its painful, I know. Plus, illusions are pretty deadly on their own right. If you can't trust your eyes, which Trixie is the real Trixie, whats a weapon and whats safe, whats floor and whats lava, then you're pretty screwed over in a fight.

 

And the fact you under estimate rope stuns me. NEVER underestimate the almighty rope!
