Male Pony in Season 4?

As said above I really don't think it's necessary as the female mane six do fine by themselves and Spike is male enough to fill the gap. That being said Spike and Shining Armour are two of my favourite characters so they do write male characters well, they just focus more on the females and that's fine since we have a bazillion other shows with an all male cast.

No offense to your idea or anything, but having a male character would stray the purpose of the show. Like Lauren Faust stated when she was airing the show, the show was meant to send a message to all girls how great a girl can be. The show takes great personalities and traits of female friends and adds conclusions, conflicts, and progression to each character so that girls everywhere can relate to it to the best ways for their own experiences. Having a 'mane' male character would unbalance the sole purpose of the mane six's girl friendships, and thus, becoming off-topic to the theme of the show itself.

Yeah, from that point of view I can see how it's good, just the way it. I also have to remember the show was meant for little girls anyway. Spike can hold his own.

Why not just give Shining Armor a larger part, and more character development? Much easier than creating a brand new character.

 

Besides, between Spike, Big Mac, and Shining, they sort of fill the male role. Plus, AJ and RD are both tomboys. The only girly one is really Rarity, and sometimes Fluttershy or Twilight Sparkle.

A reoccurring male character other than Spike who says more than Big Mac would be nice, yes. It's not something I would say I crave, but it'd be nice. The way the majority-rules female demographic the show possesses doesn't bug me since it's done very well, but, we simply haven't had a secondary male character who's had many roles while also having plenty of lines, and even character development. Again, besides Spike.

 

Just think of all the implications a new male character could bring to the show, too.

It would be cool to see a colt take center stage in the coming season but not as a love interest of the main 6 that would take away from the main message of friendship but I would love to see some background ponies or side ponies get there relationship develop to add nice side plots to the shows already big story. If any of the mane six are to get into a relationship it should be with another of the mane 6 flutterdash!!!!!!! plz hasbro make it sooooo other wise don't ever bring it up for them. Anyways, I would love to see more male characters added into the main cast. Most of the male characters are portrayed as typical good guys or typical bad guys.

I don't understand the hate for Flash Sentry. I mean I understand that people don't care for him and that people think that he is bland, but what is there to hate about the guy?

 

I would personally like for him to be in the show but he doesn't necessarily need to be Twilight's love interest. I mean sure it would be hinted at but that doesn't mean that they have to date right away. They can be friends for a while first and then let the sparks fly later.

 

Think about Robin and Starfire from the Teen Titans cartoon from 2003-2006. For a whole 65 episodes, there were lots and lots of hints and such for them liking each other. But they did not become an official couple until the movie after the series completed.

 

Flash and Twilight wouldn't need to be dating right away. But he sounds like the kind of guy who could be a regular cast member and be friends with the other ponies without it constantly being about him dating Twilight.

Yeah, I definitely hope so. Like, maybe they'd be like Luna, (not royalty per-say) as in they'd have one main episode and then they'd make important reappearances, other than just existing.

I find nothing wrong with Flash Sentry, I can't say I like him nor hate but if he were to appear in Season 4 with some character development we will see then. We are judging him before he even gets a chance to be developed, well if ever will be that is.

What dose she gain from lying to everyone, other than a "he he fooled you!" when season 4 starts? She didn't even have to bring him up at all. Nobody asked her about him so why take this time just to lie?

Actually, the last person we should trust is a stranger on the Internet trying to spread rumors.

 

Think of it this way. Meghan is more than aware of the "don't believe her lies!" meme. Which, first of all, is COMPLETELY ridiculous and rude, and secondly, if she KNOWS that people are being mean to her for telling half-truths about the show so that she doesn't reveal things that she is not supposed to reveal, then why would she blatantly lie about something?

 

I personally would like to know what "lies" Meghan said about the show. Because I am pretty sure that the worst things that she said were vague half-truths for the sake of not spoiling the show. Admitting that Flash Sentry will not be in season 4 is not a vague statement.

Rarity will seem to be fooled - but really won't be, and will reveal as much near the end.

 

Spike will decide to switch back to himself (not an easy decision for him), but will require that the spell be broken by some magic from Rarity. Unfortunately, she will have hurt her horn somehow previously in the episode. Luckily, a kiss will also reverse the spell...

 

Twilight: "Wait! It says that there's another way to transfer the reverse spell..." [shows spell to Rarity]

Rarity: [reads spell] "Oh!"

That makes sense. If that is the case then it has more to do with simply making a mistake and less of a deliberate lie.

 

Either way, in the case of Flash Sentry, her post is written very plainly and there is not really any way that her statement could be interpreted differently without trying to derive a convoluted and nonsensical meaning from it.

Ha - thanks! I've never written one piece of fan fiction before, but I'm thinking of jotting something down re: this idea, just as an exercise (and for fun). I've thought of a slightly different ending, however - it would allow for things to go "back to normal" a little more smoothly.

Shining armor is really only good for two partners Braeburn is someone who should show up like once a season soarin is there purely because thy needed some ponys for the wonder bolts and Big Macintosh is a supporting character maybe someone new though?

I'd like a new male character with a fair amount of screen time that says more than "Eeyup" and "Nope". They could just expand on Shining Armor a bit, but no one really cares about him.

 

Seriously though, I would like a new male character that interacts with the Mane 6 on a semi-regular basis. He wouldn't be a love interest to any of them, and would just be a non-close friend. He would also, of course, have character development, and be a strong, good character.

 

I, however, don't want to see him in the Mane 6, which I find to be fine as it is. I would also like him to be an "extended background character" of sorts, with speaking appearances at about the same rate Zecora or maybe the CMC have.

 

Probably won't happen like this, though.
