(I feel like making this thread due to WheatleyCore's status update, so thank you for the idea ^.^)

So have you ever, in your life, had an imaginary friend?

________________________________________________________

I personally have. When I was 5 I had an imaginary friend named Kayla. She was my best friend up until I started to create real friends in Primary School. After I made friends, I just forgot about her. ;-;

EDIT: Added tulpae to the poll.

You're welcome for the idea. xD

But as you already know, I have never had an imaginary friend. I could never imagine it real. I can talk to myself, which I do quite a lot...but imaginary friends? No, not really.

Well I was homeschooled for most of my life before 8th grade, so I had some times where I was lonely especially when younger when I didn't have any friends.

Of course I had my brother so eh.

I think I may have pretended to have one sort of a few times. But it wasn't one of those offical ones who you have a name for and consistently do stuff with. It was just kinda, I decided to have a imaginary friend today, then not have him exist forever, then have another imaginary friend when I wanted to.

I did and still do talk to myself sometimes though.

I cannot recall having an imaginary friend, but that doesn't mean I didn't have one, of course. Perhaps I was just too little to remember.

I know I played video games since a very young age, so having no one to play with (single child (sort of), no kids in the neighbourhood) didn't really leave me bored. I can't recall if I felt "lonely," but looking back, I remember being quite happy, so I'm assuming I wasn't in need of an imaginary friend at all.

Oh, I had some. I used to go to an adventure with them while my real friends weren't around, but none of them lasted for more than a day or it's just me who can't remember. My real friends and I were kinda separated because our schedules were very different.

That was just for about three years, I guess. I wasted my childhood on playing games, and because I moved to a new place filled by assholes, I had no interest of making friends at all and spent most of my time at home alone, even until now.

Yes, I had several, some even lasting during primary school. I would mostly play with them when my real friends weren't around, going on epic adventures and the like. Now I have Phoenix and Nathaniel (tuppers).

Uh...I have no idea what to put here.

Black=Ano

Blue=Phe

Grey=Nathaniel

Probably, though in something of a roundabout way. I've had this idea in my head since I was a young'un that somehow the characters from the media I liked were monitoring me. I've never been able to shake this idea, though primarily this is because it's harmless.

I'll be perfectly honest. I feel like Twilight and Rainbow are watching me right now. It gets kind of annoying at times, but normally it just slowly drifts to the back of my mind.

As for actual imaginary friends, I had a stuffed animal named Bun-Bun that I would sleep with. Oddly, however, I don't remember considering it alive. I don't remember much of my childhood so perhaps it's a lapse in memory, but I believe I've only viewed it as something to hold at night.

EDIT: I can assure you that I'm perfectly healthy mentally. You can stop backing away now.

Not for real. Like I mentioned on Wheatley's status, I only ever pretended to have an imaginary friend (if that makes any sense) because I was irritated that my little sister would constantly talk about her own. So whenever she would tell me one of her out-there stories about her imaginary friend, I'd say things like "Oh, yeah? Well MY imaginary friend, Chip, has been to the moon before. Much cooler than your friend." Yeah...wasn't exactly mature of me, but that's how much her having an imaginary friend irritated me, I guess.

Although if this counts at all, I've always talked to myself. In a sense, I guess that could mean I'm my own imaginary friend...or something. :wacko:

Absolutely. Jack. I didn't really talk to him but I referred to him when talking to others. I just said hi to him again the other day. Didn't want him turning into the Boogeyman. (Guess that reference!)

Nope, have never had an imaginary friend. I have a rich imagination so I could have easily created one during my childhood. Maybe I have simply forgotten it, but no I doubt I have. Never had to, but instead I might have created personalities for things and sort of made them feel alive. Not imaginary friends really, but more like a stuffed animal that has everything a normal animal would have except it would only be a stuffed animal. Because of my allergies, I couldn't be around animals and at the time I felt bad over it. So stuffed animals were my way to go, but it quickly changed to things like computers, cars, phones and stuff. So I care more about stuff then normal people do, I sort of care more for stuff then I care for people. Except when it comes to my family, but when it comes to people I don't really feel connected with people the same way I do with cars or computers. It's just harder for me, for some weird reason.

I kind of have a tulpa, but I didn't finish her. So she comes and goes, Rainbow Dash only appears when I'm driving alone. Since I didn't finish her, she doesn't talk. She just nods her head and smiles. Cute but a little creepy, I need to finish creating her.

So I choose "sort of".

I've had three imaginary friends when I was younger. Tiny, Binky, and Martin were their names. A bit of a story behind each of their names. I got the name "Tiny" from the boss Tiny from the Crash Bandicoot games. The name Binky was from that show "Arthur". The fat kid. Finally, the name Martin I got from my first ever bully in Kindergarten. She always picked on me, so I named an imaginary friend after her for some reason.

I had an imaginary friend named Wabouwb about 8 years ago when I was in 3rd grade. The b in Wabouwb is silent. I don't remember whether or not I actually "interacted" with him a whole lot, but I do remember telling other people about him. I remember sitting at a table with some other kids and telling them about my imaginary friend named Wabouwb that lived in my kitchen ceiling.

My dad tells me a funny story involving Wabouwb that I don't have a clear memory of. He said that me and other kids in 3rd grade were talking about Wabouwb so much that the teacher said that if she heard one more "Wabouwb," then there wouldn't be any recess. :P

I had one. I forgot his name. Tim? Bob? Definitely not Dave. He was male for sure.

Though, I did have one because I used to believe that every kid needed an imaginary friend, so I forced myself to have one, no matter how simple he was.

It actually used to be funny having an imaginary friend, and the lack of reactions my parents had when I mentioned him because they knew I was just a kid.

No. But my cousin did. In fact, to this day she claims she can still "see her" when she drives past her old house, of which her "imaginary friend" couldn't leave. Also her parents (my aunt/uncle) claimed the house was haunted. They smelled popcorn in the middle of the night, saw "people" sometimes in their closet at 3am, and heard noises in the living room again in the middle of the night. Imaginary friend, or ghost? I don't know, but yep. I never had an imaginary friend.

Do the voices in my head count? I never had an imaginary friend per se. I would always create characters that lived in other worlds and imagine that I was one of the characters so all the other characters were my friends.  Kind of a round about imaginary friend.

Of course I did! I actually had two, Emily and Elizabeth. My brother was often away playing with older kids, so I had those two to keep me company. Whenver my mother would take a picture with her finger over the lens, I would grab it and squeal, "Look! It's Emily!" or whatever. My mother was fantastic at humoring me, and she'd always put the pictures up on the refrigerator. I had a birthday for them, too, and got three slices of cake. :D

Yeah, I was kind of odd...

Yep! I had an imaginary friend as a kid. His name was Crooz, and he was, by far, the single most awesome person, with a cool red outfit and a sweet car. 10/10 would imagine again.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

I had an imaginary friend until my mom thought I was talking to a demon, they've gotten out of the superstition pit now and we look back and laugh at that.

Well...

When I was young I remember I once tried to create an imaginary friend. However, I never really understood their purpose and scrapped the idea. His name was Jerry.

Several. Because I didn't really get maternal support when I was smaller, I created imaginary motherly figures for myself.

Two of them were vampires, I recall, the other being a sorceress. Yeah, I'm pretty crazy. :umad:
