I read some of PP blog to focus on the manifesto to see that the focus is on JJ and Molestia. A rather big person in fame among the fandom. It makes me think there are ulterior motives here and that's just me.

 

I've observed that the internet can be a volatile enviroment where something like a cyberspace mob could be riled up with ease.

 

And I'm seeing that here, it appears most of her stupidity is coming from the less "reasonable" of her supporters goading her into it. It looks like she would be peacefully disagreeing with it if they weren't around. This whole mess really seems a case of mob mentality and hysteria making a work look far worse than it actually is(such as when then that guy called Mass Effect a hyper-detailed rape-simulator)

Yeah, I looked again with a clear head and I stand by my point. The general reactions of her and her supporters to everything is just sad. She's re-blogging(and thus agreeing with) people that resort to the same kind of petty flaming and insults the people being thrown up as "examples of why they're right" are using(sometimes to a worse level, one guy only said something stupid because her and one of her followers goaded him into it after he tried to be as nice as he could(abet, with a bad choice of words).

 

She even went ahead and publicly agreed with a post bashing JJ at one point(for drawing the same body for over and again with just changes in hair and such, sounds kind like a familiar artsyle, come to think of it....)

 

Some of the supporters are even admitting that they don't like the way direction it's going(I guess there's even one splinter group trying to get JJ banned from Bronycon). That's pretty said when you're so extremist that the people your on the side of don't even like you  

 

I hold no ill-will against her, I honestly think she had her heart in the right place, but a chain of bad decisions beginning with going about it wrong and reacting immaturely to criticism has done blowed up in her face. She wouldn't have near this level of problems if her and her followers reacted calmly to people and ignored the idiots.

 

I'll re-instate, the movement should've been centered around "Up with the real Celestia" or something instead of bashing a specific artists interpretation they didn't like. Shit, I'm a well rounded person once I get the immature giggles of my system, I would've been down with some cool wise-ruler Celestia.

That DWM campaign is a disgrace. Having some musicianswho are MLR mods stand up and join in this "witch hunt" to target John Joseco just makes me very sad and frankly really upset tbh. Artists targetting other artists. How hypocritical is that? When i see Circuitfry throw together a song and put in inflammatory language (first disabling commenting, then limiting a small amount of comments for approval, and then eventually pulling the video) and then DerpyGrooves call for a petition to BAN John from being able to speak at Bronycon for his third year I really have to question what my fellow moderators are trying to do in leading this call to arms. Do they not understand the problems with their arguments and the conflict they are directly causing? Do I want to sit besides people whose actions i despise and cause the community harm?

I've been looking into this Down with Molestia campaign, and it seems it isn't just a small amount of people who are part of it, there are actually quite a lot bronies backing it. Why? I'm sorry but I really don't don't understand. It's just a joke Tumblr, who the hell cares? Have people really got nothing better to do these days other than rant about something that doesn't affect them and draw animal charity style protest art?

If I was John Joseco I would thank them because thanks to them I would get more attention and probably get more viewers. I think much of the reason the brony fandom is so huge the virulence of the haters has given it so much attention that people watch just to see what all the fuss is about.

The DWM demands seem to just keep getting more ridiculous. They want the "offensive" content taken off. Then they want his blog taken off. They want him banned from Brony Conventions. Even a couple of the posts want to drag Lauren Faust and Hasbro into this whole thing. If DWM pushes too far, JJ could come back with legal actions.

I could care less, the only reason Molestia exists is because it sounds so close to Celestia  It's kind of like Cupcakes it's all in good fun, There is people that get mad at cupcakes too but it's not implicating that the fandom enjoys Pony murder. I'm going to level here, I'm trying very hard to my nice and respectful of these people, but that sympathy I had for them is swirling further down the crapper with each shred of this hateful bullshit I see. I was hesitant to throw my support on Harmonics blog at first, but now I look up on it there on that list with pride because I see what I'm standing against. I can begin to describe this hateful arrogance of calling another humand being "scum that gets off on mocking rape victims"(I can think of a internet persona far more worthy of that attack, and he's sure in the hell not a brony), "the face of rape culture" and trying to get him banned from the con. Since nearly the beginning he's been one of our most popular artists. Hell, he gave us the beloved fannon of Luna as a gamer). When I look at these people I just see them wanted to stab the man in the back it serves their purpose of making themselves feel like they've done something important. I can't believe this is anything but wanting to fight because he's been there two years running on the panel, and as others have stated: He's a respected artist outside the blog as well, to do so much as remove him from the panel because he does one thing you find sketchy is bullshit. As one person said on the discussion for the petition, some of the people that work on the show have done...:

 

Tara Strong has done VA work in some VERY adult media(in fact, still does, Lolipop Chainsaw was made while the show was being worked on)

One of the writers for S4 worked on Beavis and Butthead

Another wrote softcore for for one of the skinflick channels

John DeLancie was in Assassin's Creed(and M-Rated game with some really controversial ideological themes)

 

Also, I know it's not germane to anything, but the person that made the original post about the petition has porn on his blog I find that funny. 

 

Also, also, they brag the movement has 50K followers based on the main blog, I wonder how many just follows to keep on eye on the stupidity.

Slightly off-topic, but I’ve spoken with the girl who voices Molestia in the youtube adaptations. She’s a pretty decent person from what I can tell. If you’re going to ban someone who writes the jokes, then you’d have to also ban the person who reads them, right? That would be a shame.

 

 

Judging by her snaking at atheism, I assume the person behind all this is Christian, which is cool and all, so am I. That leads me to ask, "where the hell were you during "love thy neighbor" and "thou shall be judged as they judged others"

 

In the end, I only pray these people realize how stupid this is and we put it all behind us. 

Oh, and someone on there said they should ban ShadyVox because he dicked around and recorded adult VA content that time, I get news for them, many of the VAs for MLP have been on TV-MA shows...

 

I just have make a closing statement(it's late and I'm pissed, I ramble when pissed). The sit there and manipulate rape victims to help further your agenda, whatever it may be, by appealing to their fears and inner struggle over what happened is the real scumbag move here.  

 

I'll say it again, I hope this whole mess dies in flames and we put it all behind us like rational human beings.

Uh, I never got into Molestia and I never liked her or the blog from the start and most people who don't like Molestia aren't jumping on the bandwagon, many have read the blog and legitimately don't like it. I feel after the Down with molestia blog got popular, people jumped on the bandwagon.

I know, and as much I personally didn't like it, the attack on him for it was stupid because some of the show's real VAs have done work on M-Rated games and TV-MA shows. By that logic you'd have to boot them from the con as well.

Honestly, I don't care right or left about Molestia.  But I've met with the person who voices her on a couple of occasions, as well as the blog owner.  They're very nice people and don't deserve everything that they are getting right now.  The people who hate the Molestia train just hate it because of it's darker factors.  Since people were raised to hate dark things, this happens as a result.  Extremists are all they are.

Well I have a few possible reasons

 

1.) They simply just don't like there favorite princess being depicted in such a way

 

2.) They don't like the thought of rape in general

 

3.) They think she's to mainstream and are just avoiding liking it because they are afraid to jump on the bandwagon

 

I personally think three is the reason in lots of cases, you'll always have a group when something gets popular just hate it for whatever reason. But in truth they only hate it because it's popular, hence why you have people leaving the fandom now saying that because it's big it, "Isn't the same anymore."

Youtube would have removed it already. It's shocking and I didn't laugh about it. Instead I just focused on the creator's intentions or maybe ShadyVox was trying to ruffle their feathers. That's just me.
