Of the "Ask Pony" Tumblr blogs, "Ask Princess Molestia" is one of the very few I follow. Not only is it consistently updating, but it never stops being funny. The name itself is a very big oxymoron, as Molly actually knows her boundaries. Plus, she and Gamer Luna (with appearances from other characters like Derpy and Twilight) provide very funny antics.

As for Down with Molestia, if whatever this blog or "movement" is was going to provide good intentions, then instead of targeting an oxymoronic fanon blog and starting an unneeded Social Justice fan-war, do something genuinely beneficial. Sexual exploitation isn't funny at all, and I cringe whenever I hear a rape joke. But trying to take down a rule-abiding R34 blog (which people tried to do before with no success) isn't going to do it. Be involved in charities and programs to help those who were sexually assaulted and raped.

I find the very concept of Molestia to be hilariously funny. The tumbler is always good for a wee chuckle.

I find the whole "it makes us look bad" complaint to be pathetic. We are hated because MLP should not be liked by anyone who isn't a little girl (so say the haters). They can claim anything they like as proof, but even if all the grimdarks and clopping stopped, they'd still find a reason to hate us.

The Down with Molestia blog is just daft. Pointless and daft.

I like a Facebook page called I hate Lady Gaga. We get a lot of hate messages and threats from Gaga fans. Yeah, I may look like a hypocrite, but I don't think Gaga cares about my membership in that group and we (as a group) don't troll her fans or evangelize others. She's not going to stop because of us. Neither will the Molestia blog.

If you hate something, fine. Avoid it and don't be afraid to tell others that mention it. But understand that this big world we live in has lots of people in it that have tastes different from your own.

Just as you have your views, they have theirs.

Grow the hell up and accept it.

"Autistic pony-fucking wristcutters,"

The hilarious thing is two of those accurately describe me though the second one is only half true as I wouldn't do that with well and actual horse yet they still get it completely wrong. I have never cut my wrists but I am Autistic though I have advanced to the point where most people can't tell.

Be involved in charities and programs to help those who were sexually assaulted and raped.

But that would require actually taking responsibility and finding someone to blame for everything is so much easier than doing something actually constructive.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Honestly, this might be surprising to some of you who know me considering I'm a conservative Christian, but I think John Joseco's "Ask Molestia/Gamer Luna" Tumblr is downright hilarious.  Yeah, it can get quite NSFW, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for younger bronies, but you just have to remember not to take it too seriously.  It's all just supposed to be in good fun, at least his tumblr is.

Basically, I think that anyone who does take Molestia too seriously, whether they're for or against her, needs to tone it down a few notches.  Those who are way too ardently in favor of her can get just a bit creepy, especially in some of the art they produce, and those who on the other hand think that John Joseco's blog is just the worst thing ever just need to chill a little bit and stop being so prudish.

I have never understood the "*insert thing I don't like* makes us look bad" argument because ironically it actually makes us look a lot worse than that the things that argument is complaining about does by making us look like we have some kind of hive mind mentality. And come on man, this is not the same as the Derpy fans being upset because that had implications that went far above and beyond just the show. I bet your wouldn't like it if people claimed to speak for you yet completely ignored your own opinions, I sure as hell didn't and still don't.

I understand and respect your perspective on the argument. Lol at the hive reference btw. But I personally think it does indeed make us and by "us," I mean the majority of bronies look bad. . Why do I think that? Well just look at the media and social pop culture that greatly influences us to make generalizations and quick judgments very easily, without even knowing the full basis of which we are making our judgement on.

We already get enough judgement and many stereotypes are made regarding us bronies. None of which is obviously true. I'm just merely speaking in general that that's how most of society works when it comes to this general kind of stuff. We get judged very easily and it doesn't help when some of us like to overreact and make big commotions about the things that are pointless to rage about when it's not going to go away no matter what.(Save Derpy and DWM for ex.) Others can look at that and easily generalize us as being very uncivil and kind of ignorant.

I'm only saying that's how others can view us. Though I usually don't care about what others think, the fact that we take things so far just makes me want to facehoof so hard. lol

And come on man, this is not the same as the Derpy fans being upset because that had implications that went far above and beyond just the show.

I'm just saying it's similar. Not that huge of a similarity but similar in the sense that it's another showcase of the way most bronies tend to overreact.

Overall, this is all just my opinion and perspective.

I entirely respect your opinion on the matter and everyone else's and hope that you respect mine.

Honestly I don't like the 'Big Three' (Trollestia, Molestia, and worst of all Tyrant Celestia) when it come to how fans portray Princess Celestia. Though because I understand the origin of Molestia, that of a shape shifting sex crazed demoness that took Celestia's form, I more neutral towards this meme. I have even found the Ask Princess Molestia tumblr amusing.

Tyrant Celestia and the whole Solar Empire and Lunar Republic on the other hand I am extremely against, as it goes against everything established on who Princess Celestia is and how the royal sisters have made up. Celestia and Luna have been apart for 1000 years, give them a break and allow them to be together again.

I don't know much about Molestia except a few comics from the ask tumblr. But I don't think they should take it down.

Heh. It's funny. I bet another brony group is going to create another blog like "down with tiarawhy" or "down with pokehidden"

But that would require actually taking responsibility and finding someone to blame for everything is so much easier than doing something actually constructive.

This here is why the dumbassery called Down with Molestia is just really stupid. Instead of actually being beneficial to society, they're trying to go after an oxymoronic R34 blog (oxymoronic because Molestia has moral lines despite her NSFW hilarity) that doesn't violate Tumblr policy. However, personally going after those who are for Molestia is against policy.

Is sexual exploitation in humor sick? Damn right it is. APM, however, uses clever, off-color humor that doesn't cross that thin line. (Also, the Molestia comics have been somewhat tame, using most saucy perspectives and double-meaning sex humor.) Those who support Down with Molestia, if they truly want people to be aware that sexual exploitation isn't funny, need to do a few things:

  1. Be productive in charities and fields.
  2. Don't sell DWM items regardless of cause. Don't like Molestia however you want, but passively demonizing popular Molestia bronies like John Joseco himself (who's a really kind-hearted person who understands brony fandom culture and has very good relations with professionals and bronies young and old) in the form of DWM merchandise is low and counterproductive.
  3. Don't bombard bronies like John Joseco and MEMJ0123 (who voices Molestia on YouTube and is a big fan of Celestia's canon portrayal herself) with hate mail. Instead of helping the cause, attacking two leading bronies who helped continue to popularize Princess Molestia and her personality makes the protest look worthless and a waste of everyone's time.

Don't be reactive. Close down the worthless campaign and be proactive. Pixelkitties suggested it, and the DWM campaigners need to follow suit.

@,

B-But I like Tiarawhy and Pokéhidden...

Why do I like everything everyone dislikes? It must be a fact of life; if someone dislikes it, I like it.

On topic, I still do find APM's tumblr hilarious and despite not having a tumblr, I do watch it for updates. I just decided, because of this thread, to put a link to #BringDownCake (It's APM poking fun at DWM) in my sig. It's a thing now for me.

I'm okay with the Molestia stuff, but I'm not a big fan of it. I agree with the other posts, the Molestia hate is just childish and plain stupid. It's just a sexual thing that the bronies came up with, it's not going to stop if you keep hateing it. The same thing goes with pony porn.

Seriously, the Ask Princess Molestia blog is just a bunch of harmless (and funny) dirty jokes. And not even child molestation jokes. It's only the name that makes people think of that.

As several people have said, spend your effort fighting against the real bad guys and helping victims. The vast majority of adult pony art is perfectly fine fantasy, IMO. And the Molestia blog is quite tame in comparison to most of it.

I'm reminded of this fanfic I read the other day, where Twilight gets trapped in human world, discovers clop art, goes on a crusade against the internet, and eventually comes to terms with the fact that it's hopeless, and really not hurting anything anyway http://www.fimfiction.net/story/124025/twilight-the-internet-is-for-porn

Clock in your opinions while I draw DWM art.

You do that, dude! People like you make the world a better place! I'm sure if you manage to take down the Molestia-Tumblr all the raping in the world will stop.

...

See, this is why I don't like modern feminists either. If Anita Sarkeesian makes ten new videos about how videogames portray women in a wrong way, thats good for her, she found something to pass time and can scam poeple over Indigogo, Kickstarter or what ever the fuck she used to "fund" her videos.

But does she make the world a better place? No.

She just wastes her time on stupid shit like telling the world why a harmless video games opresses women while she could be on the street protesting, so that women get the same wages as men. Or that men get the same time in jail in men if they broke the law, if she would be for equal rights.

Same fucking thing here.

Why do people always get their panties in a twist if they hear a rape/racist joke? If they don't want to laugh about it because they think the topic is to dark to make jokes about it, that's totally okay. But they shouldn't get mad about it because it will hurt nobody.

Racists hate black people/asian people/whomevertheyhate because they are dumb or brainwashed, not because they heard a stupid joke.

Rapists rape woman because they want sex mot because they heard a stupid joke

So for the love of Celestia, if you don't like something and want to boycott it, stop and ask yourself: "Does this harm anybody?" If the answer is no then LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!!!

Oh, but I'm sure you can! The DWM movement is just now taking off, so join while you can. Even the smallest contribution helps. OuO

You know how you can actually help? You can be useful and donate something to organisations who actually help. Here you go:

http://www.womenshelters.org/

https://www.childwelfare.gov/

Everything DWM art will acomplish is waisting your time and maybe ruin the fun for the people who like the Molestia Tumblr if you somehow manage to take it down.

For stupid people (and most of the media) we're 30yo-fat-virgin-horsefucking-pedophiles. If we make a too big fuss about the whole thing we also will be rapists in the eyes of those people.

Intelligent people will still cut straight to the bullshit and don't judge us by the actions of single persons. Nothing will change.

This is my advice for those anyone which is part of the whole "Down With Molestia" movement.

1371457112293_by_accellerant-d6ilrg9.gif

Why are you taking something such as this so seriously?

If others are clearly enjoying it why do you feel so strong to oppose what they take pleasure in?

Nobody's shoving Molestia into your faces, so what if you don't like it?

It's just as easy to pretend you never saw said content which you don't like and just move on with your life.

You can't stop this kind of content from being circulated, stop pretending this inane idea will make the world a better place.

If you really want to make the world a better place then you should listen to EVERYONE'S SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO!

Some individuals put A LOT of time into their Molestia content, respect their wishes to continue what they enjoy.

Learn to slow down, laugh, think on the other side of the spectrum and just go to another site.

                  Sincerely yours,

Accellerant - Proud supporter of Molestia and all content which is parodied. princesscelestiaplz.png?1

~If you take this site seriously, then you really do belong to the moon~

I'm actually don't like Molestia, but that doesn't mean to start a riot. Ya, its dirty, and a little disgusting, but like I said, you don't have to start a rampage. Taking down the Tumblr, like I said, I hate Molestia, but that'll mean your taking down Gamer Luna to.

And think about it, your thinking of the negative side, your side only. If you take it down, people would get mad, and I'm talking about the Fans!

Just, think about it, ok?

The problem with Molestia is that it is literally making fun of rape and sexual assault. That is pretty bucking insulting to survivors and it just shows how far rape culture goes when you can just write it off as a joke. So if that is how you want to dismiss the molestia blog, please, please take the time to read this. It was actually written in response to a comic on Penny Arcade, but I feel it fits in rather well with my thoughts on Molestia, and rape jokes in general.

Now I don't think the blog should be taken down. I think JJ should make a post apologising for offending people with rape jokes, and promise to stop with them. I don't care if it remains NSFW or anything, but in all honesty if you treat rape as a joke, you're a massive tool.

That article is taking it waaaaay out of proportion. Seriously, I had to struggle finishing reading that because it makes me so angry and sick.

Yea, rape is fucking sick. They should be beat up, locked up in a cell for life and sterilized. But me, a rapist's comrade? Don't make me laugh, or was that article itself meant as a joke? The poster hardly understands how endogenous morphine forms opinion within a person, he's just blabbering some stuff he read and heard and thinks he's all such an "expert" on it.

Like with all jokes, jokes are funny because an activity or situation is made humorous or entertaining. This isn't just rape. There's dark humor, jokes about murder, poking fun at a race, making fun of each other's countries, jokes about suicide. There's no end to the amount of jokes that make fun of something. Plus, don't forget the satires, which balance completely on the border of jokes and insults. Yet people, the same ones that despise other jokes, are completely fine with satires. Heck, you probably joke with your friends about some activity you don't like, ranging from sports to music. I guess since you don't like football and make jokes about it that makes you the next person who's going to kill a football fan?

So what I'm really trying to say is, whatever you find acceptable or not, there'll always be another person that will find what you find acceptable completely wrong. Of course we know rape is completely wrong. But really, am I the comrade of a rapist for liking a joke? Oh, I guess, using the same bogus hocuspocus theory,  we're all comrades of murderers, rapists, neo-nazis and thieves.

Just because the rapist's opinion gets validated doesn't mean *I* was the one who helped him in his act. In fact, the rapist got the idea of committing the crime from somewhere else, not from me. Thoughts of rape sprout from a series of events and opinions, not from jokes.

But I guess while we're at it, whenever I make a joke about Germany, America or India that means I'm a fascist nationalist and the people who laugh with me are actually my followers! I guess that one joke I told about Canadians really did give me the idea of becoming a dictator! I guess since I'm such a dictator because of one joke, I am also (very, very) secretly a supporter of slavery, abuse and nationalization! Because hey, I made a joke about it! Or perhaps someone in the room laughing is the real dictator and I was actually (very, very) unconsciously accepting him as my new overlord!

See how retarded that sounds? Now use that, multiply it by a million and you get that article.

People complaining about a joke need to listen to this for the last fucking time, because I am completely done with this.

IT'S. A. JOKE. GET. OVER. YOURSELF. ALREADY.

Like, I hear countless suicide and self-mutilation jokes, two subjects which are very close to me. Yet, do you hear me ruining someone else's fun? No. I know that jokes are jokes and nothing more but jokes. Heck, I can even laugh at them. However, whenever someone takes it too far, I'll point out that what the person is saying, is out of line.

Oh and before I'm done, I still need to post my opinion about Molestia:

Molestia is a joke, it's pretty damn funny, I'm totally okay with it. Come at me bro, I don't care what kind of negative opinion people have about me, especially considering the ones over the internet.

But hey, why should you listen to someone who's apparently "the rapist's comrade".

Btw, comrade implies I've been with said fictional rapist through thick and thin. Which, since I don't even know any rapists, is clearly impossible. The use of the word comrade is completely wrong and it bugs me so I had to point it out.

I'm impartial on liking or disliking, I've seen a couple funny jokes come from it and I do like Gamer Luna.

Now it's time for me to put on a foot down on something though and explain why crusading against it is wrong. These people are basically saying that that them being offended is a issue that super-cedes freedom of speech. It's okay(and sometimes funny) to rant about media you don't like, but the creator still has the right to make it.

When I rant I see it as "If I think your being stupid and writing bad, I'm going to tell you all about it and tear your work apart, but I'll defend your right to create stupid shit to the bitter end."

Now I could spend all day pointing out other holes in the argument, but I'm just going to point out that that blog is actually rather tame in the grand scheme of offensive humor and far, far worse exists.

Also, as for the "making us look bad" argument, please read up on the Streisand Effect for why complaining about a fanwork you think makes us look bad is a counter-productive idea.

are you sERIOUS RIGHT NOW   YOU'RE PRACTICALLY WRITING OFF A CHARACTER WHO ACTIVELY RAPES AND SEXUALLY HARASSES OTHER PASTEL COLORED PONIES AS "A JOKE"

It was an interesting discussion, until someone virtually yelled. Just personal matter, I hate loud people.

It also is responsible for the creation of "Gamer Luna," which I adore.

Aye. I admit that, whenever I get seriously bored, I check the Ask Molestia tumblr to see some Gamer Luna arts. Don't get me wrong. A clopper friend linked me that tumblr in a Facebook chat. Molestia disturbs me (attractive, but too brash), really, but Gamer Luna is adorable beyond belief. Dat headphone. :3

This is dumb.

Ask Princess Molestia isn't cannon. Hasbro didn't include it in the show, or the merchandise. It's a fan made blog about a funny fan made character.

Why are you being like that to something you can ignore? It's no different than people that go on to COD videos and type "COD suckz im going to Batlfield" (grammatically incorrect, because its you.)

In fact, I hear, "Man, those guys must hang out in their mother's basement and fap to Molestia. What losers." Sound familiar?

Who is Molestia? ô_õ

Honestly, I couldn't care less about that... I never really got into the whole Molestia thing, and never even bothered searching for it. I understand it's a joke, and that fact alone is enough for me to just ignore it and continue to live my life normally.

I mean, come on, it's a joke! Yeah, it's crude and uses rape references 'n such, but so does millions of other forms of comedy nowadays. Getting so upset to the point of planning on taking down a blog, isn't really necessary in my opinion.

Hate on me if you wish, but I LOVE THE ASK MOLESTIA BLOG! I enjoy the art style, the antics are amusing, and both Molly & Luna and their interactions with the rest of the cast are interesting to me. I'm definitely going to stay a part of Molest fest.

Since I'm a unrepentant clopper, I enjoy Molestia. And I think that it's horribly immature that people have really found it necessary to make a counter group just because they don't like it. In my own opinion, that will always look worse than some guy drawing everyone's favorite Princess in suggestive poses, because it makes us look like a divided group of Middle Schoolers that can't handle opinions.

My thoughts? I don't mind.

Every fandom has this type around for jokes and playful banter.

From what I've seen, sure it can get a bit strong or a bit over done, but most of the times, it's just ok for the most part.

In terms, I don't mind.
