Man, I wish I could have lucid dreams. Usually when I realize I'm dreaming, I freak out and wake myself up. :o

The one time I had a lucid dream, I did that. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased.

I know how to do so. Message me anytime if you need help with it.

I've been doing MLP LDs since Season 1 Episode 1.

I killed pinkie pie cuz she's annoying as hell.

I am a Grand Master at achieving lucidity--as I am able to do so within 1 minute or less.

I have started experimenting with lucid dreaming about a month ago.  I have had great success, but I haven't done anything MLP related yet.  I've flown a couple of time, once to escape a zombie horde.  My last lucid dream was very interesting.  I often dream about tsunamis engulfing me.  It's a recurring nightmare.  Don't know why, I love swimming in the ocean.  Anyway, this time, I became lucid and gained control while running from the tsunami, and I turned and stopped the wave in place and held it with telekinesis.  I woke up pretty quickly, but it was definitely a success.

In another dream, I attempted to decay/heal the buildings around me with the Amulet of Uroborus from God of War Ascension.  Before I could really do it, though, I was woken up by a thunder clap irl.  F*ckin storms.

Attempting something MLP related is definitely on my to-do list for the near future.

Sounds awesome! I've lucid dreamed before. The way I lucid dream is I listen to a certain song.

One time, I lucid dreamed about me having a pet changeling! I was listening to my piano cover of "This Day Aria" and thought about it. I was sleeping in the car. I feel something warm on my lap and knew it was a sleeping changeling. I then begin to rub and stroke it while sleeping. However, when I tried to rub around it's wings, the wings twitched, my thumb twitched and I woke.

There are plenty of ways to lucid dream. Everyone is different. Some methods will work better on some people than others.

With that said, there are many good resources. For example LD4All.

^^^ truth right there.

Infact, there is also another method that is very popular to achieve lucidity if you really wanna dig gold out of it.

It's called Astral Projection (Not the trance band) but the method is complex. However, it has a very positive result if you are willing to experiment it. It will make your lucid dreams feel more comfortable to you.

I have tried it, and i love it.

That method didn't work well with me.

I used Astral Projection and WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming).

The Dream Diary is complex and is only suggested for people who have an excellent memory.

Hey TwiDash, do you think you could give me some pointers on lucid dreaming? I'm good at remembering dreams and I've had a few semi-lucid dreams before.

WILD is not too hard lol. It's the easiest form of lucid dreaming xD. You just lay down on your back in your bed for 15 minutes. Done. Easy.

No, if I do that, I just can't get to sleep.

MILD is by far the easiest for me.

But, like I said, it's different for everyone.

Hey, Twidash, I used the counting method (1-60, 1-60, over and over while thinking about what to dream), but nothing happened. I had complete silence and no light so my dream wasn't all warped or something, but all I got was no dream. What did I do wrong?

Twidash is not here, lol. But I am, so if you don't mind, I'll try to answer your question.

It seems to me that you're trying to use the WILD technique. The main problem is most likely that you're thinking too hard which prevents you from falling asleep.

After which, you get tired and you fall asleep and miss the opportunity for the lucid dream to start. It's like waiting at a bus stop for the bus to arrive and then falling asleep and missing the bus.

So, the key is to remain absolutely still and focus on counting. If your mind starts to drift away , then try to focus again on the counting.

If you really can't manage it, then you can always use MILD.

What's the MILD strategy?

What's the MILD strategy?

This is my favorite one. MILD stands for Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream as opposed to WILD which stands from Wake Induced Lucid Dream.

The difference is that in WILD, you go straight from the conscious state to the Lucid Dream. From MILD, you start off with a normal dream and turn it into a Lucid Dream.

The first thing is to do a reality check when you're awake. Do this at least a dozen times per day to get this into your head. Everytime you do a reality check, ask yourself the following question  :

Am I dreaming ?

The reality check should confirm that you are not. The key to a reality check is that it fails in real life but almost always works in a dream

(in the movie, Inception, the main characters use reality checks).

Now, that you have a habit of doing reality checks, you need to make sure that you do that in the dream as well. As you fall asleep, you need to remember that you are dreaming. Just repeat a short sentence in your head over and over such that "Next time I am dreaming, I am going to remember that I'm dreaming".

Keep repeating this sentence until you're sure it is set in your head. The last thing that is in your mind before you fall asleep should be this sentence.

If all works well, when you fall into a dream, your dream character will automatically perform a reality check (which will work ) and thus recognize that all this is just a dream, hence induce lucidity.

This method was created by Pr Stephen Laberge and is proven to be reliable. It worked for me at least and this is what I use.
