My childhood was practically Cartoon Network. Soooo many awesome shows, such as PPG, Scooby Doo, Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy, etc

As for Nickelodeon and Fox Kids, I only ever watched one show from each: Rugrats and Sonic X. Loved both of them, but Sonic X tended to clashes with other shows (and was right after school, so I had to rush to get there fast enough. Luckily my school was right around the corner to my house). Rugrats was awesome, and I recently started to watch it again. I have fond memories of going to the cinema to watch the movies as they were released :3

EDIT: Oh yah, and Disney. Didn't watch many of their series (Lilo & Stitch and Buzz Lightyear were the only two I think), but I loved alot of their old movies, in particular Tarzan, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beuty. For some reason I didn't care much for Snow White, no idea why, it's not bad or anything, I just can't watch it without getting bored :S

What a thread about 90's cartoons and no one mentionned Pokémon!? What kind of heresy is this!?

There are also a few others I watched. Here are some on top of my head: Johnny Bravo, Scooby Doo, The Jetsons, Inspector Gadget, The Flintstones, Dexter's Laboratory, Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, Ned's Newt, Garfield, Sonic the Hedgehog and Digimon.

The 90's were the best :3

No MTV? What about Cartoon Sushi and Aeon Flux? :(

Oh well. Mostly Nick and Fox Kids for me, since I didn't get CN at my house until I was 15 or so.

It's too bad this is a toon thread, because BIG BAD BEETLEBORGS.

I'm not sure if I can vote in the poll until I remember exactly what cartoons were released in the 90's.

But I'm going to say right now that Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) deserves to be on EVERYONE'S list of best cartoons from that time period.

Yeah, can someone explain if Sonic was syndicated on KidsWb or Fox? Cause I honestly don't remember a Sonic cartoon during the 90's.

There were actually THREE Sonic cartoons in the 90's! The one I was talking about was "SatAM", though. It aired on Saturday mornings (hence the term SatAM) on ABC from September 18, 1993 – December 10, 1994.

Another, not as good Sonic cartoon was Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. It's extremely nonsensical, even to the point of making looney toons look sane in comparison. It aired during the weekdays on ABC from September 6, 1993 – October 26, 1996.

There's also a third cartoon,

, which came out in 1999 and ended the next year... the less said about that, the better. Click the hyperlink if you really need to know more. Edited by Legendary Emerald

I was aware of there being a second Sonic animated series, just never knew it aired on ABC. Guess that explains why I never saw it before.

I love Sonic! I have the (SatAM) series on DVD. I wish they would have gone for a third season.

Disney- Oh Disney Afternoon how I miss thee. Running home from school everyday just to see it. Then when their saturday morning lineup chanced on ABC to 1 Saturday Morning, it wasn't as good as DA but I still enjoyed it.

CBS Saturday Morning- I fondly remember watching Garfield and Friends when it was still part of this block. They even had other shows too which very few people seem to remember. Remember that claymation show Bump in the Night? Or the Beetlejuice cartoon? No? I thought so. I think I remember Ducktales and the animated series for The Little Mermaid airing on this channel at one time.

Nick- 90's nick ROCKED, even the kiddie Nick Jr shows where fun! (Eureka's Castle and Blue's Clues (with Steve) anyone?) After 2000? Not so much. The only post 2000 Nick show I ever liked was My Life as a Teenage Robot.

Cartoonetwork- I'm more familiar with the pre Cartoon-cartoon era of cartoonetwork. The time when they showed mostly classic Hanna-Barbera shows and they where just getting off the ground with their own material (2 Stupid Dogs and Swat Kats come to mind). I remember when Dexter, Johnny, PPG where nothing more than mere pilots collected on the show "What a Cartoon", and later got their own shows. I also remember Toonami's early days when Moltar from Space Ghost was the host. I loved Tenchi Muyo and Sailor Moon later became my gateway drug into the world of anime.

Kids WB- Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Road Rovers, Tazmania, and many more...i'm surprised not more people have mentioned the awsomeness of Kids WB yet.

Fox Kids (later renamed FoxBox then 4Kids)- I had issues getting this. Out of my 2 local Fox TV networks, only one of them had Fox Kids and sadly it was the one with the worst reception on our antenna, so I didn't get to watch it as much as I wanted. And the shows I do remember are mostly pre Power Rangers/Digimon era. (I remember liking Bobby's World and Eek the Cat) The last show I ever saw on this block was Mon Colle Knights and to this day i'm still kicking myself for not recording episodes when I had the chance.

Other- Once upon a time local tv networks showed syndicated cartoons on their stations as "filler" for early morning/afternoon time slots for kids. Shows like Captain Planet, Samurai Pizza Cats, Inspector Gadget, the Dennis the Menace cartoon, an early 90's Woody the Woodpecker cartoon, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog being such shows. They even had classic shows like Underdog and Rocky and Bullwinkle. Its kinda saddening you don't see that anymore.

So in resolution, favorite block? Tough call. I watched everything/anything animated as a kid (I even watched shows I hated when nothing else was on), I had favorite shows but no one favorite channel. Then around '98 I started getting more selective with what I watched. So going by which blocks/channel's had the most shows I found myself excited over/liked watching/least likely to change the channel, i'd say either early Kid's Wb or Nick or the Disney Afternoon lineup. Favorite shows? I had way too many as a kid, but my top two favorites then that still remain beloved favorites today are Darkwing Duck and Rocko's Modern life.

Fox Kids, if only because it had Batman: The Animated Series.

That was Kids WB people, they had all the cartoons based on DC comics, Fox Kids had all the Marvel stuff. Unless you people live outside the US and they aired the DC cartoons on Fox Kids there?

EDIT: I suddenly recall Kids WB having an X-Men cartoon in the early 2000's, so perhaps my memory is wrong...but I still could've sworn the Batman, Superman, and other DC comics cartoons where Kids WB.

Yeah, can someone explain if Sonic was syndicated on KidsWb or Fox? Cause I honestly don't remember a Sonic cartoon during the 90's.

There was two Sonic shows at the same time. Adventures of Sonic and Sonic SatAM, both by DiC, one very cartoony/one plot driven and serious, and both in odd timeslots. Adventures was syndicated and was shown on a variety of networks mostly early morn, SatAM I never saw but I do know it was on neither network. I heard it was on the same time was Power Rangers and so it was conflicting with ratings which lead to its cancellation. My best guess is CBS or ABC.

I heard there was a third in the very late 90's, Sonic Underground, but I know nothing of it other than the fact that it bombed and was a total stinker.

I am a Disney Brat: I loved Chip and Dale, Goof Troop, Gummi Bears, Tale Spin, But I also loved, cartoon network: Cow and Chicken, Dexter Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Johnny Bravo.

And then there was Nick: Angry Beavers, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy,

And then everything else.............Even though I chose Disney I think I liked every single cartoon in the 90's early 2000's

Out of all the cartoons I experienced as a kid, Disney had the most consistently good lineup that I enjoyed.

Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Quack Pack, Gargoyles, Hercules, Aladdin, even The Little Mermaid was actually not bad.

I mean all the channels had awesome cartoons but Disney, they had a real renaissance there. (though I think Ducktales and Rescue Rangers started in the late 80s...)

Cartoon network. All of their daytime shows and Toonami were awesome.

Nickelodeon, I remember turning my TV on that channel and watching all day! I still remember what channel number it was.... 24 XD

Weird. It's 25 where I'm from. Disney was 24 I believe.
