I usually end up having to spit food out if I have to chew it for too long, it's a weird thing I have, it just makes me feel like throwing up, so I pretty much inhale my food.

Im a pretty slow eater. Like, my friends love to point this out every time i eat with them after they scarf down their food.

The only time i eat fast is when im stupidly hungry. And when im not distracted by something else, which is rare.

Reporting back from lunch, just had a big ol' plate of pasta and a tall glass of chocolate milk.  Clocked in at 5 minutes 5 seconds.  I also had a fortune cookie that I didn't include in the time, but it might have added thirty seconds.

I usually eat the absolute fastest in my house, and I also have a bigger throat and no gag reflex so I don't choke and can't puke. As a result I can eat entire mouthfuls of mouth in a single swallow or two.

I put it depends because if it's a food that tastes really good or really bad than I'll eat really slowly (either to preserve the taste or to get as little exposure as I can) and finish last.

I eat relatively fast. Especially when it's fresh tasty food. If it's like soup and bread I won't really eat too fast. Let's say I had 2 tacos, freshly made with lettuce and cheese... and salsa.. *comps both down* that's what would happen ohmy.png

I think I eat most things pretty fast, like snacks or less warm meals. If something's too hot or really big though, then I'll probably take my time on it, but still try to get it finished as fast as I can, probably. tongue.png

 

 

If I love what I'm eating, I eat rather quickly. I even have a habit of not eating my sandwiches all in once piece. :x If I think what's in front of me is disgusting, I'll devour it slowly, painfully attempting to finish it. :/

I guess thats a pretty common way to eat, i eat everything generally the same speed though, as far as food types, its more based on hunger for me. 

 

my eating speed depends on everything!

 

if the food is not so tasty, or average, I usually eat slow. Unless I was starving, then, if I was starving to the point of eating an entire cow, I pig myself to my plate and finish pritty quick and probably repeat again.

 

If I am just decently hungry and the food is like delicious, I eat rather fast but not so fast, just average speed.

Makes sense, you have a dependent pattern ;p. It all makes sense regardless.

 

I used to eat pretty fast.

 

Mostly because I would take large chunks out of meat and poultry and swallow without chewing.

 

It became a problem.

 

So now I make sure to masticate a few dozen times before I swallow.

 

Slow eater, yaaay!

I chew my food alot because I don't wanna choke on it, i'm scared to alot of times ;p.

 

Especially meat, not to mention i don't wanna accidentally swallow a bone.

 

ten minutes... fifteen? I don't know, it depends really. But usually I'm fast... I don't waste time on chewing. Chew chew and swallow, chew chew and swallow, just like that.

Well, you don't have to know an exact time, that depends on the food and amount afterall ;p.

 

But yeah. 

 

It really depends what I'm eating or if I'm hungry or not. If I'm in a bad or cranky mood I eat really slow, (dunno why img-1894946-1-tongue.png) and also what really bothers me is that when I'm hungry I eat super fast and then beg for more and until then, I get massive stomach aches.

Whether i eat slow or fast in a bad mood depends ;p, sometimes i eat fast in a bad mood to be alone. 

 

I sometimes eat to much, because i'm not sure if i'm hungry or not, but i usually don't. Especially being a slow eater. So the food has time to settle.

I think I might be a mutant.

 

I'm flat stomached, not very tall, but you couldn't say - really - that I'm stocky, or fat at all.

But I weigh almost 200 pounds.

My mouth is arguably small, about 4" wide, not big by any standards.

but I can eat a slice of bread like a soda cracker, with my freakishly pointy teeth. And I drink like a whale.

The first part is probably my bones. But I don't get the rest.

I don't stop eating, and I can eat a box of triscuits in a half a minute.

But I never gain any weight.

I'm confused.

 

Shouldn't my stomach burst after 2 pounds?

Although i guess it is a bit odd. Maybe all your fat is around elsewhere, or in your arms or muscles or something.

 

I drink either not enough or a whole ton, some days I hardly drink anything, and other days I drink so much that I'll go to the bathroom to pee like 1-2 an hour for a bit ;p.

 

I don't gain weight really no matter what i eat either, although i only weigh like 120 pounds or so. Which is either average or a bit underweight for someone 5'9ish like me.

 

And technically your stomach doesn't burst really, you'd get sick before that technically speaking, although you stomach is somewhat like a balloon, so it expands if it needs to normally, like your bladder. 

 

but neither will pop like a balloon, they'll empty before that ;p.

Hm, strange. You must have a big gag reflex then. 

 

If i chew my food to long i might get bored, and not be hungry anymore, or just assume its to tough to eat then spit it out.

wow, no gag reflexes? So you never gag or anything? That could be dangerous almost, depending. Since gag reflexes are technically a way your body protects you.

 

I guess it can help in some ways though ;p.

How fast i eat really depends

I eat really quickly if i was alone so i can get back to whatever

but if i were to be with friends i would be eating somewhat slower rate

and if i was to eat with entertainment on then i would have my spoon mid way between me and the bowl until the show or whatever is over

It depends on alot of different factors including but not limited to; what I am eating, my mood, how tired or well rested I am, how busy I am and how hungry I am. One trend that is fairly consistent for the most part though is I tend to eat much more quickly at work than I do at home even on the days where I have a full hour for lunch. My appetite shoots through the roof on my 6AM (formerly 7AM) shifts in particular which in addition to getting massive adrenaline rushes causes me to really scarf down my food. When I have dinner later that night though in part because I am so drained I tend to eat very slowly but still have the appetite of 5 people.

I normally eat slower when alone, because i'm normally watching youtube while eating or something ;p.

 

I do eat slower around people generally, normally because i'm talking.

 

If i'm watching something i'm slower to, because i'm paying attention half to that. But i don't not eat, and sometimes i eat faster to get done and be able to focus.

And i guess at work your normally feeling rushed in case something comes up. 

 

I get really hungry coming towards lunch at school, but normally don't eat a ton anyways. I do sometimes eat pretty fast, we don't eat till like 12:30 at school.

 

My appetite varies depending on the day, some-days my teenage hunger kicks in and i feel like i could eat a cow, and other days i don't feel like eating anything.

If it's something that I really enjoy, I'll try to eat as slow as I can so I can savor it, but If I'm really hungry, I tend to scarf it down. On the other hand, if I'm eating something that doesn't taste good, I'll "play with my food," so to speak. I'll eat real slow and kick things aside on my plate. Overall, it really just depends on my hunger level and what I'm eating.

How fast depends on my appetite and how much I like the food.

 

If I'm not hungry but I like the food, my speed will be in the middle.

If I'm hungry and I like the food, I'll eat quite fast.

If I'm hungry but I don't like the food, and I have to eat it, I think it'd be in the middle.

If I'm not hungry, I don't like the food and I have to eat it, it'd be really slow.

I only tend to feel rushed on my shifts where I get a half hour for lunch (11AM shifts), but my adrenaline rushes on the shifts I get an hour for lunch are much more intense because they are longer shifts and more is expected of me on those shifts. Being a dairy clerk is a tough job, especially if you are the opening dairy like I am on my 6AM shifts twice a week.

 

I get really hungry coming towards lunch at school, but normally don't eat a ton anyways. I do sometimes eat pretty fast, we don't eat till like 12:30 at school.

When I went to high school the students were divided into 2 groups for lunch, one group took the earlier lunch and the other took the later lunch after the first groups was finished. I was in the first group so I got my lunch sometimes between 11:00 and 11:30 (I don't remember the exact time but I am pretty sure it is sometime between there. On my 6AM shifts I get my lunch at 9:30AM or sometimes 10:30AM which really contributes to me building up a monster sized appetite by dinner time.

 

 

My appetite varies depending on the day, some-days my teenage hunger kicks in and i feel like i could eat a cow, and other days i don't feel like eating anything.

My appetite has always been huge from an early age, but I also have a nasty habit of overeating when I am upset, stressed out or bored which these days is quite often for the first two but not nearly as much for the third.

Oh thank Celestia, I thought I was alone in this. I end up just inhaling food just about (also 4'' is pretty big for a mouth IMO) and never getting too much heavier or bigger. I have a small beer gut, but I'm 5'6 and weigh 200 lbs my self. How did I not see this post before.

Incredibly fast. When I'm starved, two footlongs from Subway can be gone in under ten minutes. I've always been a black hole when it comes to food. Yet somehow I'm still super skinny. Yay metabolism.

Yeah, ours is to, i have the late lunch this year, and the early lunch is at like 10:30 or something ;p. 

 

And yeah, i don't really like eating to early, because i'm either not hungry, or get hungry to much throughout the day.

 

Oh, yeah. I don't really eat alot when i'm stressed or anything, although i do sometimes eat more sweets then normal, but not actual food.

Damn you people with your high metabolisms, you don't know how lucky you are. If I eat too much food (and I do) I get fat, it's not fair!

Well, i guess its nice to have. But on the same token it doesn't mean i'm that much healthier, i still take in all the fats and other things, so I can still be incredibly unhealthy and skinny.

 

Plus being underweight actually has more health risks then being overweight. 

 

I eat alot more sugars and fats then i probably should, and while i don't gain weight really, i still might die before i'm like 30 from all the freaking fats.

Why do we even have to eat? Why can't we just become part plant and use photosynthesis to feed our cells? Why even have a digestive system? If only...

 

I usually eat somewhat quickly, but when it comes to candy, ice cream, or cream puffs, I will eat them before you can blink 5 times.

It depends. I generally eat slowly as I prefer to savour my meal and enjoy the flavours rather than just eat as fast as possible. However should the situation warrant it and I'm in a hurry chewing is a step I can skip :P

I'm so... so... soooo... soooooo veeeeeery, very, very slow when it comes to eating. You might be surprised at how slowly I eat. I always feel bad when I go to a restaurant because I feel like I keep everyone waiting with my slow eating. I'm actually slow with most aspects of my life. It's because I have high anxiety. Rushing spikes my anxiety, so I hate to rush and like to take things slowly. Including my eating. If you give me a half hour for lunch, I'll probably use all 30 minutes of it. Like I said, I hate to rush and I like to take my time.

It depends. But overall, I'm usually kind of a quick eater. I tend to eat my desserts a lot faster than my dinners. Sometimes, if the dinner is really good or fancy-like, I'll take my time to savor the glorious taste. :3

 

But usually, I'm kind of a fast eater. :P

I eat like a mouse. Everyone in my family can finish their dinner in about 10-20 minutes, it takes me approximately 40 minutes to finish mine.
