Season 4 is too overrated?

I heard the story they started for season 4 will be the entire arc. It's kind of overwhelming, but unique. I'm not very into the action-type episodes though, so lets see how it plays out.

Well, to an extent people will be excited, however, i've not really been that caught up in the S4 hype until i realized it came out on the day, and i still think the premier was good, i don't even mind alot of the stuff you mentioned frankly.

 

Of course, S4 isn't over, so to say S4 is overrated i don't know, its not over yet ;p.

 

But i'd like to think optimistically that it'll be good, because it could be the last, and i'd rather MLP ends on a good note then a bad.

 

You don't have to like the premier or any of it though, thats alright, everyones entitled to their opinions afterall.

It is not overrated, it is hyped.

 

Overrated is used to describe something that has already occurred, and people think it is the best thing since sliced bread, when in reality, it was only pretty good. Examples include games such as...Black Ops 2. Or Halo 4.

 

Hype is what is going on now. We've had 9 months of no pony, we just got some pony, the internet is on fire, more news at 11.

 

The real question you should be asking is, "Will season 4 live up to the hype?"

It's too early, wait for the season to complete before you judge it, that's like watching "The Last Airbender" film, without seeing Avatar the Last Airbender, and saying it isn't all that people said it is. I'm actually not sure what you mean when you refer to lens flare. The opening scene in the castle is the one to which you are referring, I presume; I am fairly certain they did not use lens flare. You may be referring to the lighting dynamics and shading -- fairly new techniques to MLP. I frankly hope to see it again very soon.

It's true her eyes are not derped here, but that mane style and the fact that that is a pegasus make it pretty clear it's her.

 

And even if you don't accept it as a sighting, her not being in the premiere does not mean she has been removed from the series.

This isn't Derpy, it's "Orange Box", identical to Derpy except with with a different mane and non derped eyes.

 

As for Season 4 being overrated, it's way too early to determine. There's still 24 episodes to go.

Criticizing Season 4 already even when we saw the premiere? I don't really remember them using any lens flares in the show, Derpy isn't gone anyway since we've seen her appear in a lot of episodes even after Derpygate. That's ridiculous. and honestly I don't think the premiere episodes are that overrated. I mean there's a lot of people who says it's super amazing and all that, but there's also a lot who says it's okay. It's not like the whole community says it's the best eps ever

There you go. She isn't completely gone. Derpy is an enjoyable background character who serves as the "Waldo" of My Little Pony, but even if she wasn't there, it's not a major change. I can understand a disappointment, and feel free to disagree, but Derpy is a very small part of the show and nothing to sh*t bricks about.

I'm pretty sure the writers are indicating they are going to carry some ongoing plots and themes throughout the whole season and that Discord will cause trouble yet again.

considering that season 4 has just begun there isn't much judgement to base  on it... that's like saying that the latest doctor (Doctor Who) is overrated because hes older. 

 

perhaps if we give it more time the story-line will sharpen up. i'll agree with the "no antagonist " statement. but as a note to that, its possible that the writers have noticed that they have begun each season the same way and fear becoming too predictable

I can't believe what I'm reading here, nor can I take it seriously.

We're literally only three episodes into season 4, and already you're tearing a new asshole to everything the cast and crew have done, and making all these absurd presumptions about the show, which - and I'll give you this - may or may not come to pass, but even if they do, there's literally *nothing* you or any brony anywhere can do about it, so I would suggest piping down.

I'm one of the biggest Derpy fans you'll ever come across, but you don't see me going around, raging over how they have literally dropped her out of the series, because THAT IS CLEARLY NOT THE CASE HERE. I think it was Meghan McCarthy herself who said that us Derp-heads will see our cherished little klutzball in due time. We just have to be patient.

I didn't like that movie because I watched the series first, Liked the series, didn't like the movie. (The actors in the movie, the fact that I was waiting for my favorite scene from the series only to have it not in the movie, yep, dislike.)

 

Other than that, I agree. Its not correct to assume that is overrated. Its like saying Hunger Games the movie is accurate to the book without reading the book or even like the series without reading the books. You can't simply see one thing and judge. I think that's the problem here. 

 

However, its over hyped. Celestia and Luna scene wasn't all that amazing during their fight. Kind of pissed at that really.

im just going to say this: the first two episodes are great but the way they set it up isn't exactly what I expected. yes the show has changed and should but, what i mean by the set up is that the summary/ background of the episodes aren't as interesting and as The Prime Reaper was talking about villains, i remembered Discord's part. Discord is a very sly villain and in my eyes he hasn't pulled of as many sly tricks as i thought he would have done. But besides that i can watch the rest of the episodes and only hope that it's the same as the first two for season four.
