Tank the Tortoise: Will he ever return?

The apperance of tank the tortoise was the very first episode i watched, and it's deffinantly my favorite. But why? Why was he never brought back?! I laughed so much during that episode, probably more than any other. Tank is just so funny! And his little helicoptor thing is great. Any idea why he just never returned?

Well, it just happens, the same way nor winona nor owlicious were heard from besides that episode and the one time they appeared before.

 

Maybe he'll reappear at some point, just like them, specailly since apparently they are beggining to bring in continuity nods

Well, there is a purpose to background characters... It entices the environment to see them roaming around, this allows the audience to realize that they are still in a familiar environment. I mean, if you just had the mane six(or whoever the episode is focusing on) showing off in the episode with no one in the background, the show would seem really empty! I am sure we will see Tank in the background at some point, if not as the focus of an episode.

Having a pet appear just for one episode like that kills the meaning of having a pet for Rainbow Dash in the first place. At least show us that Rainbow Dash didn't just ignore Tank after that day. Just a thought.

Alot of the pets don't seem to really appear that often except for Winona and Opal. Maybe they are only there if they are needed.

I wonder how Dash keeps him. If the unicorns and earth ponies can't stand on clouds, I would suppose he couldn't, either. I can't imagine constantly flying would really suit him. He would need to sleep and rest periodically. I guess he can maybe stand on some of Dash's furniture? How does the furniture not fall through the clouds? If he can stand on the furniture, why doesn't Cloudsdale have auditorium seating for unicorn and earthponies, and a flighted shuttle service for their big events?

I'm sure he'll appear in an episode for a few seconds in the background of a scene or something. As somepony already said, the pets themselves don't appear much anyway. Since when have we seen Twilight's owl, for example? Or Winona? I don't think we've seen the last of him though, or that he's a one-off. I just doubt he'll be the focus of an episode anytime soon.

Last time we saw Winona was "The Last Roudup" It wasn't that long ago. Granted it was only for a few seconds at the ending when AJ wApplejack was coming back to Ponyville. But, they really do need to put Twilight's owl, Tank, and the others in other episodes.

Even if it's for just a few seconds in the background, I would like to see Tank again. He was oddly missing in Read It and Weep...odd because I would have figured Dashie would have at least asked somepony to watch after him while she's in the hospital...that and he could have been sitting there next to her bed in the ending scene too.

 

This show is fantastic for the most part in regards to its continuity, so Tank missing the way he has been is rather odd.

Maybe she thought about it, and felt that dash would think that is wasn't awesome enough for someone to go give them a card in the hospital, or maybe she thought she was only going to disturb her (I could have thought those things, specially the second).
