I'm not going to voice my opinion on this one, but I would hope some of the members to at least get through the group stages. We need some variation here, it'll be fun if this wasn't like the last cup. It tires me out quickly if it's the same ones again.

D and G look pretty tough, like in real life. Group E is probably the toughest though. (unlike in real life)

 

I'd say C is the group of life.

Wow, five people legitimately think Trixie can win it all, eh?  On the other hand, nobody expects Shining Armor to go the distance. 

 

I'll be very surprised if a non-Mane 6 pony wins the cup.

Mayor Mare, Dinky Doo, Lyra, and Bulk Biceps are all unlikely to get past the group stages. Dinky and Mayor only made it this far because their competition was really weak and Lyra and Bulk Biceps, while popular enough background ponies, aren't popular enough to go the distance. Of the four, I think Lyra has the best chance of pulling an upset or two.

My picks for the past few characters? All of them I say will end in the group stages except for Octavia who will probably make it to the quarterfinals.

 

Also, I extended the deadline for both Trophy and Mascot submissions to March 20th. I hope you guys have lots of mascots and trophy designs by then!

I don't understand what this is about. 

This is the World Cup. We've just finished World Cup Qualifying, and the 32 qualifiers have been chosen. We will then proceed to the World Cup Draw in May 12th where all the characters will be picked into 8 groups of 4, like the FIFA World Cup Draw. We'll then start the World Cup in June 12th.
