What is your favourite insect?

I like praying mantises. I mean yeah, the females eat the male alive after mating, but I like their unique appearance and colouration. Plus, they aren't aggressive or immediately annoying to us.

A dead one.

Bugs are icky. Ever since I saw Temple of Doom when I was a kid, they've freaked me right the hell out.

Violin Mantis

Cause I think they are really unique in they're design and they're also very small. So they are sort of like tiny little spies.

Then there is the Comet Moth :)

My favorite insect would be the cicada, the loud buzzing insect in trees. A very high-pitched sound that is said could damage your ears if listened to a long time. I used to catch them as a kid, they were really smart and I had to plan and stalk them. Whenever I got close and they stopped chirping, I would stop and stand still. When they started chirping again I would move closer and climb the trees, trying to pin-point it's location. Sometimes it would fly away and I would fail the mission, and sometimes I would catch it, and it would scream out really loud saying "Let me go human, how dare you bother me!". I've caught hundreds of them before, and I noticed after you catch one, they calm down and sit on your finger. Also, if you put one on your thumb and let it sit there, it will try to stick you with it's long needle tongue (they have tongues for extracting juice from trees), it really hurts and I always wondered if it sucked my blood out, so maybe my DNA would be a part of them. That was a long time ago though.

Ohohoh, this is where my animal knowledge shines like the sun!
My favourite insect would be an Arachnid, but more specifically the Thelyphonida more commonly known as Giant Whip Scorpion, a cave dweller mostly and nightmare of nature, pure badassery and fear factor is off the charts, it's evolved body is like an alien since it is neither a Scorpion or Spider, it's in the Arachnid family under the title of Vinegaroons, before I ramble on more here is an image of this beast heheh.

Theres a lot of cool insects so it's tricky. I actually quite like woodlouse cuz they have very cool battle armor.

I also quite like snails they are actually pretty cute and make interesting expressions when they eat. If you aren't scared of slimy creatures haha but the slime is actually pretty good for your skin.

Those moths look pretty cute tho.

I guess it would be a ladybug, it looks nice. Dragonflies look cool as well. I can also tolerate a housefly, that is, I do not immediately grab the newspaper when I see it (unlike, say, when I see a wasp, a clothes-moth or a mosquito). Oh, just remembered - a Colorado beetle also looks kinda nice, but obviously is a pest...
