How do bronies compare to other fandoms?

Just opinions:

~ BOTDF

~ Cloppers

~That new Shrek fandom

~ Onision

~ All the stupid crap from TV and the Radio nowadays (not all of it most of it)

~ Some "EMO" fandoms (the fact they don't even use the EMO abbreviation CORRECTLY and for what it truly means says it all ._. it's supposed to stand for Emotive Hardcore a MUSIC GENRE from the 80s that died out)

~ SWAG

~ Justin Bieber

~ Some directioners (I actually understand the boy band itself are nice and lovely people but their fandom is insane)

~ Some band fandoms

~ PewdiePie

~ The Hunger Games

~ Harry Potter

~ Extreme Anime fanatics (excuse me for just liking SOME of the art work there's no need to insult me because I just simply do not like the shows besides Yu Gi Oh and some softcore Hentai stuff)

~ "Hardcore" potheads

~ Anti-Fandoms

~ Some of the LBGT community. Ok I support your rights, MANY other people do as well perhaps MANY churches support your rights too. Now that being said, there's no need for you people to try to make everyone be exactly like you since we're all different and we ALL should have equal rights so WE straight people should have our right to remain straight if we want to and it is not fair that you accuse ALL straight people as horrible just because of CERTAIN idiots just how we are not supposed to accuse you because of SOME idiots, want respect? earn it and stop acting like you're the best thing in the world because of something you were BORN with

~ SUPER anti-religion people (to the point they wanna commit genocide just because someone has a belief)

~ and this is based on just experience but a lot of Metalheads are too (let's point out I in fact have a Metalhead best friend)

~ Some Bubbline shippers in the Adventure Time fandom (which it's my favorite fandom it's just that no offense those shippers tend to be too rude and try to shove their beliefs, opinions, and preferences down our throats)

~ And lastly half of this fandom as crude as I sound, The show itself is great I like MLP but you have some SERIOUS disturbing people on this fandom, starting with the "know-it-alls" which in fact don't even put an effort to actually learn, then with the ones that push the gore down your throat not respecting the fact you don't want to see that, the excessive cloppers, the ones that crave attention so yet decide to start out random fights for no reason, you name it. On the other hand I have met very cool respectable bronies but 50% of this fandom seems to sink, it's like no one has the right to say anything in a constructive manner and most people decide to judge something based on first impression without giving it an actual chance, if that was the case I would hate Dr. Who right? but no I can't do that since I didn't give it a chance and I don't know much about the subject. These fandoms I just listed above perhaps are things I was even a member of (most of them), and the ones I wasn't were usually the perverted ones.

So far that's all I've got I'm not so annoyed by them to the point of punching them though but this are just what I personally consider the most annoying

You do realize that saying "cloppers" is referring to this fandom. It's not a different fandom, it's part of MLP, regardless if you think so or not. It's like saying "jedi fans" arn't part of the Star Wars fandom.

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

I never knew about Juggalo's until just now when I searched it up... and they are pretty bad! I'm going to have to say them. Idk of really any Fanbases as of now (except CoD and League, etc..) I wouldn't say that our Fandom is particularly bad, it's just alot of times all people see out of Fandom's are the bad sides. I think ours is great because of the moral we set (Friendship, kindness, etc..) to each other. Ex. Convention's where everypony is singing and dancing together, sure it's a little weird but it sure shows how humanity has become detached from one another! I mean if you even try to say "hi" to someone walking by you, they think you're some kind of lunatic or something. That shows how everyone in this Fandom is nice to people who try to talk to you randomly :) (Whew really went of topic there :D)

Yeah, some sections of the fandom are so violent that the FBI had Juggalo's marked on the books as a gang at one point, not even kidding.

Easy. Sonic.

In my personal and highly biased opinion, I think crossovers are the most poisonous, detestable, nonsensical things ever, and I see Sonic crossed over with more completely irrelevant franchises than any other fandom. Except maybe this one. Ponies seem to find there way into everything too. Guess I hate myself by extension.

Oh, and the community around APB: Reloaded is worse than COD. It's probably the most objectively terrible group I know. And trust me, I know. I've been a piece of it for three long years. *strokes long beard*

To bad, and I love weird crossovers and the CO section on FF.Net is like my crack. I recall finding a really good X-Files/Highlander story once.

Might I then suggest staying away from the community while still enjoying a good comic here and there?

Also what I was getting at is don't let the worse of any fandom ruin your enjoyment of the subject.

That's what I do with furry stuff, I enjoy the art, comics, stories, ect but I don't really belong to any furry websites aside from FA(which I'm really not social on)

I'm not too aware of what goes on in other fandoms.  But from experience, furries are pretty flippen dramatic.  I haven't seen too much drama within the brony community, but I guess I might not be looking too hard.

Nah.We queen fans are super sophisticated, unlike Belibers.

Also, what the fuck is a "music band"? You can't have a band without music.

Oh,BTW I am not getting into this argument.

Anyways I'd say yugioh fans (and yes I am one of them).... They can be REAL uppity, and stupid sometimes..... Especially when it come to competitive play

Console fanboys can be pretty awful at times (then again, they're fanboys, so it shouldn't be all that surprising). My least favorite are Sony fanboys because they defend a company that uses underhanded tactics to nickle and dime them, they use double standards when comparing their own consoles and games to Nintendo's and Microsoft's, and they have such a strong feeling of entitlement that they attack other people over it. Other fanboys in gaming are bad, but I cannot stand those Sony fanboys.

I am a member of the Star Trek fanbase,,, though admittingly not a huge fan. Friends of mine are very much into Star Trek, even having a membership in Utah's 7th Fleet so I joined in. This is a fan organization structured as a Federation Fleet, my crew ship in Tooele being the U.S.S. White Buffalo. In this group we go up in rank, complete group activities, gain social and leadership skills, have fun, and every so often have the whole fleet meet up at the Admiral's Banquets where awards can be given out to crew members and captains for completing different requirements.

I have been working to go up in rank and even become the science department lead, which is currently apart of the medical department because our crew is still small. Yet I currently don't have the leadership skills needed nor science department members to do such... I may not have the chance since I will be moving to Kentucky in a month's time.

----------------------------

I would consider this a positive aspect of the Star Trek fanbase, though it can also be intimidating and frustratingly time consuming, I sometimes feel that it isn't always worth it, not helped that while I like Star Trek I am not a huge fan, though it can be fun. There can be a problem of elitism sometimes, and one crew member has grown frustrated with how disorganized parts of the fleet are and I often agree that at least merit sheets need to be updated, as some can't even apply when going up in rank,

That sounds interesting, but my paranoia of meeting random new people like that and the lack of anyone I already know and trust that's into nerdy stuff to come to meet-ups with me as back-up keeps me from engaging in such fan functions of ANYTHING.

Yeah, I'm not an outcast or anything but I tend to be the "lone nerd" because my friend this is kind of nerdy is old-school so he's not interesting in fandom stuff anymore, just the media itself.

~That new Shrek fandom

I know! Who are they and why are they declaring war on every fandom in existence?

Seriously, it has to be a joke, Shrek became pretty much non-existent after the third movie and nobody outside of memes cared for him since.

~ Cloppers

They are bronies with a little more passion for ponies than a good lot of us, I seriously don't see what people are trying to achieve by attempting to separate them from bronies. We aren't the furries for crying out loud.

You know what? I truly wish bronies would set higher standards for the community they represent, it's all the time I am talking nonchalantly about ponies before some other brony will 'Paul-Revere' his way through a thread spewing spaghetti and posting links to Horse News about how I should feel ashamed for being a brony and questioning why we do things. I don't care, I don't give a shit, whatever drama is going on in the fandom, it is never a good idea to just spread it among other bronies who feel as apathetic as I do and make a big deal about it. Because it starts things, it raises public awareness and not only stirs the chamber pot, but basically splashes it on places where it doesn't belong. It creates sub-groups within a fandom who fights constantly for a unjust cause and eventually will be repeating the terrible dramatic history of the furry fandom.

Nothing good comes of it, I am aware of Bronydom's faults but it's a big deal only if we make it a big deal. I'm happy within my own little pasture of the Herd here, away from all the drama. I'm sorry with what you encountered, I myself never had problems with cloppers and gore fans (There's so freaking many of us, we are bound to like ponies a little differently from one another). With that being said, please stop villainizing 'minorities' and generalizing this fandom.

Sophisticated?  Please.  I've had plenty of encounters with Queen fans that wanted to force the music down my throat until I choked to death.

Have you never heard of a band of thieves?  ...or a rubber band?

We aren't the furries for crying out loud.

Technically, you're thinking of Yiffies.

Bronies are rediculously similar to anime fandoms.

The only real difference is that even split between the zealous fans and the open-minded fans

That and the fact that the artwork has spliced itself into every form of media and fictional universe.

Not really.  A furry is just someone who's in touch with an animal persona.  A yiffy is a type of furry that embraces the sexual drive aspect of animals.  It's like a rectangle and a square; squares are a type of rectangle, but not all rectangles can be (accurately) called squares.

Any and all fandoms on YouTube, whether that would be RWJ, Shane D, PewDiePie, CraftNation, iJustine.. I can keep going.

The Minecraft fanbase, at least the majority of it is filled with little kids, elitists, scammers, griefers etc.

The Call of Duty and Battlefield fanbase. I'm getting really sick and tired of it.

The WoW fanbase. Yes, I play World of Warcraft myself, but i've just encountered too many pricks on that game, that I just had to mention it.

One D(ers), Beliebers, Jonas Brothers fans, if they still have any left ..

Any listerner to "modern" rap such as Lil Wayne, Drake, WK .. yeah, it's pretty bad.

.. and white knights, if that's even considered a fandom. God, I hate white knights.

Ignoring the source material across all fandoms, and focusing on generalities only (analyzing a group like we do an individual is a waste of precious time) there IS one other fandom that does expouse the same virtues that Bronydom does, with similarities in age demographic (if not gender demographic) ... and both owe a lot of their success to You Tube.

Might I ask... Why does it matter? Every fandom has a aspect that makes them unique, we shouldn't have to worry how we compare to other fandoms and focus on the aspects that make us unique as a fandom. All worrying about other fandoms does is make people paranoid and believe they need to prove themselves or act ''superior'' in order to feel like their fandom matters. Its better to be proud of our fandom as it currently is then worrying if it is better or worst than other fandoms, because whether it is or isn't is subjective to the people on the outside viewing in.

Yes, it's the same thing minus one aspect. And yiffies are sadly not a minority among them.

I'm focused on cloppers and gore because they are bronies as much as the next pony lover! You came here for a debate and a argument is what you are gonna get. I don't care about grammar Nazis because they aren't worth disagreeing for, that's not a problem, it's a fact.

If you truly love this community for what its for, you wouldn't bash and shun selected sub-groups within Bronydom. I absolutely love how you speak honesty by treating cloppers and gore fans like they are the scum of this community rather than accept the consequences and admit that's a part of Bronydom.

AND as for the clop and gore want to know why I damn mentioned it?! Well guess what!? I like clop! I like gore! I have standards and I don't shove it in the faces of others, I am very discreet about it! I know you have rights and I am fully aware that most bronies don't want to see it, me and every clopper I met knows that. But you don't care, you generalize everything, make up percentages, and shove your over-opinionated 'fact' down the throats of others, probably seeing red the entire time you typed this probably because you simply don't like them!
