RIP Twilight Sparkle's Library (October 10th, 2010-May 10th, 2014)

Ponyville will never be the same without that library. I nearly cried manly tears when I saw it blown up by that big. DUMB. MEANIE!

 

Probably the rainbow chest has Twilight's library, package deal with the castle.

After watching what happened to the library last night, the first thought that immediately went through my mind was:

 

"Oh my goodness. All her books, all her study notes, all her family heirlooms and even Spike's hoard. All gone in a blink of an eye. Most of the stuff inside cannot be replaced even with restoration spells. The whole place is a write off after that attack."

 

I know some people are not going to agree with me on this post, but although some things can be replaced such as furniture and book shelving, there isn't anything that can't be done to replace the valuable items that she took for granted, and for that I actually feel sad for her seeing her possessions go up in a cloud of smoke just like that.

Well, now she doesn't have to worry about where to keep them.

I'd have no worries about swapping a library for a crystal castle. Which likely has an even bigger library. Now, twilight wont have to worry about having no room for her books and can travel lighter to the Rainbow Falls Traders Exchange.

It was a damn fine library.

 

But look at the bright side, I bet she's read every book that was in it around 200 times, and she kept saying how she was running out of room for all her books in Trade Ya! But still, 'tis a sad day in the land of pony. I was actually pretty bummed when I seen Twilight's home destroyed. I can remember looking at the TV and reaching my arm out softly saying "not her home..!"

It's sad to see the library that has entertained us bronies since season 1 go. I guess it's time to move on though. The show was always meant to be changing.

Yup. Sad to see that place go up in flames. It was symbolic for older times and so many past memories, but her getting a palace and all was in the books, saw it coming. Everything about Twilight keeps changing, but that's life. I cannot imagine they dont tackle this in the first episodes right away. Losing your home and everything in it that hold precious memories and nostalgia can leave quite an emotional scar. Even though it was replaced so soon, it's not the same. In a season of 26 episodes, i'm sure there's some place they can put it in there. Many people can relate to this. Well... I think i'm going to watch the sleepover episode as a tribute.

 

Knowing Twilight, i'm sure some portion of it will be transformed to a library, plenty of books that reside in the castle ruins in everfree forest can use a new home and i'm pretty sure that's where they'll end up. Living spaces still need to be filled up with all kinds of stuff. Some have speculated the treehouse library might be restored with magic, but i don't think they will. It seems like an easy copout and goes against a decision that was hard to make for the writers/animators, most likely. But hey, it's magic. Either Discord or Twilight could be capable of restoring everything since it's limits are endless. But i don't see it happening. It can ruin the moment and meaning of "moving on" in life.

 

Now, some may have pointed this out, but the way (camera position) the library was destroyed was very similiar to how Alderaan in Star Wars got blown up. I'm sure someone somewhere will make a spoof about it.

I was literally sitting on my bed with a hand over my mouth, eyes wide. I couldn't believe it. That poor tree.
 
But ya know, symbolism and all. Leaving past life. Which I'm okay with, as long as she turns at least half of her castle into a library.

I'm not joking when I say this was one of the saddest moments in the series.

 

Had to happen.. Else how would we know they were playing for keeps? Just be grateful it was just the library and not one of the mane 6 or supporting cast like in serenity...

Also, I hadn't really thought to be sad about it until I started reading everyone's sentimental accounts of all the history that took place there. And now I am sad about it. Thanks for that.

There's the bowling alley, that's the corner store, round the corner's the best restaurant in town and that up there is the CRYSTAL PALACE OF ALICORN PRINCESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE.
