  1. Seeing how we are people who have nothing much in common apart from one hobby... It would either be a country as any other or more likely would fail just as any other attempt to artificially create a nation. Tho it would prolly be funnier, nicer and with smaller bodycount at the end.
  2. Does one really need a celebrity or any other kind of "superior" to look up to, try to look and act as, to idolise? It would seem to me that if kids of any gender should look up to anyone, it should be parents and in turn, parents should encourage them to be themselves, and individual, real person.
  3. Well, you may be looking at it from a from perspective. Is someone really close to you just because they share a bigger portion of your genes than people you see on the streets? I would say no. And as such, if you are shy, there is no real reason why you shouldn't or wouldn't be around blood relatives you don't see very often. Not to mention family reunions, especially with relatives you don't see a whole lot tend to be rather awkward in nature. (And that is exactly because people presume you should be close, even tho you really aren't.)
  4. Well, you know how some people can spend days in euphoria just sitting there, looking at a stamp collection, where you take a look and say "huh, a stamp, how great is that <super sarcasm voice tone>". I suspect it is something similar. Alternatively - age and/or culture/family people grew in. Some "older" people simply can't bring themselves to enjoy certain new technologies, even tho they know they could enjoy for example story of game X, they just can't get themselves to actually play it. For me, that would be tablets and smartphones. I know there are few (just a few tho) good games there, but I'll rather watch a paint dry than play them. I'm not even sure why. Love handhelds tho. The scary group is the people who think games are harmfull or not a "legit" hobby / enjoyment. That is about ignorance, mostly and can be dangerous at times.
  5. Well, I absolutely enjoy homes, both the way you progress from a small dirty house to a great palace and building them, so I really hope that aspect is there and perhaps bigger and better. Second, I had the most fun playing one (immortal) character progressing trough the ages, rather than a big family, so I sure hope that still works. Third ... It works better than Sims 3. Try reinstalling Sims 3, that can take you a whole day, be pure torture and there is no guarantee it will all work after that. Unimportant: Please don't make DLCs like "Lady Gagas glorious train" or some such, it makes me hate myself for playing the game.
  6. Honestly, I simply can't think of one major flaw. It seems like Xbox One is the ultimate package of smaller flaws and bad decisions. In fact after spending two hours laughing at their fist "introduction" of the console and the fall of Microsoft's stock right after that, I pretty much knew I won't be getting that, ever. It just looks like a glorified Tv controller (and it is watching you more than you are watching it *gasp*), to be frank.
  7. PS Vita rocks. It's so much better than 3DS as a console and it has many games that are pure destilate of awesome. People who say otherwise just didn't realise the "let's hate Vita" train isn't hip anymore. You don't get wiser with age. In fact you are still the same ass you were you're whole life, maybe even worse since your brain is slowly giving up.
  8. Well, sometimes it can't be helped, but unless the avatar is something particularly extreme or very cool, I try not to. Hmm, unless people use their photo as an avatar, then I do judge, silently. Generally tho, I just spend a second thinking "That's nice." / "How generic." / "Oh how splendidly ugly." and that's it.
  9. There is 80-something years old mostly-deaf lady, a family that speaks a language I didn't identify in 3 years and a really loud and obnoxious family that has a dog that pees around the apartment building living next to, under and above me. We are not friends or know each other and it won't change if I can help it, I like to keep it private.
  10. Well, I wrote what you quoted a long, long time ago, but I definitely meant "minor" characters. I don't really call those real background ponies with any name, because they are for all intents and purposes just part of the set at any give time. So take it as "...more lines than other secondary characters with multiple appearance in the show..."... Or maybe tertiary characters? Luna and Celestia could very well be called secondary, which would upset the balance... That aside, I think you know what I meant, no?
  11. Being very, very slowly dissolved by a weak acid. Of course there are many bad things... Like being tortured for a year and then dying of hunger. Skinned alive. There are so many things that are so very terrible that I can't choose. For the best way - dying in sleep? Other than that, something fast, bullet to the head, jumping off 50-story building... something like that.
  12. I'm not sure whether the first post was meant to be sarcastic or not. Smoking is generally not badass. Tho there are some situations where lighting a cigarrette is badass. Personally I do smoke and have no regrets about it. Nothing beats the feeling of having a cup of good coffee with a good smoke. Alternatively, good tea and a water pipe. Those are the combos some will never try. Possible health risks kinda of suck, and even tho they are extremely overblown by the media quite often, they definitely do exist. But then again, so do the health risks of eating too much, eating too little, eating certain types of food, not eating certain types of food, sporting too much, not sporting enough, ... But we all have to die, so taking a (statistically) little risk of dying from something you love is not that bad, yes?
  13. Nope. Just as religions aren't fandoms. By the definition. In the sense "something that shapes you as a person", perhaps, varies from person to person, but then I'd have a slight problem with the premise that religion is the main thing shaping people (or used to be). If anything it was people sculpting minds of other people to fit their image and and then then the image of their religion as they understand it. Of course with the amount of informations floating around nowdays, that doesn't work so well anymore, and that's why religions are changing and perhaps on the decline a bit just as well. Yeah I'm such a mood-spoiler, right? But I think it's a bit sad that on the first look fandoms and religion can look similar. It's sad because those two things shouldn't be alike at all, not even on the surface, because it would just mean both failed, in a way. And it happened, actually. You could use the similarities to point out something about religion, but I don't want tostart that thing now, unless someone asks nicely.
  14. Okay kids, don't get creeped out... About 6000 hours in Guild Wars. About 1000 hours in Guild Wars 2. About 3000 hours in Lineage II. About 1500 in Fallout 3 & NV. About 700 in Skyrim. About 500 in Persona 3&4 (Vita). About 200 in Saint's Row. (most recent) Actually, it would be a hell lot worse if I remembered everything. Which I don't. Let's just say it would surely be over 20000. And you know what? I regret nothing!
  15. Behold, for I have returned.

    2. John

      John

Havn't seen you in a while. Welcome back.

  16. I have asked for opinions of actual christians on other christians (who are definitely a very small minority) saying one particular thing, as I was interested if they find it funny too or not, how is that offensive to "faith" goes beyond me to be honest. I mean... I don't even know what you're on about. What is so hateful about asking for an opinion on a group of people unrelated to pretty much anyone here? And since you mentioned it I'll bite, what degree in what field do you have? I don't know whether you are serious or not, but I will not go into this old "Atheists are communists!" and "People are immoral without the church!", because, I apologize, but I do not consider that to be an opinion or an argument, just a semi-offensive shoutout. I'm sorry, are you trolling me? If homosexuality becomes widely popular? Indoctrination of children into homosexuality in public schools? Ancient and still lame butthurt "pun"? Please tell me you are just joking. On a serious note, creator doesn't mean god and definitely doesn't mean the christian god. I dare say the word itself has something to do with the fact that many of the authors were deists, and if you know deism, creator can be something a little different than what you have in mind.
  17. The amount of "Am I the only one who..." topics is too damn high! On a serious note, no you're not the only one. You knew well you are not the only one. You knew it's not weird. You knew people will come and consolidate you and give you a pat on the back. That's it for the rant. About the music tho, one thing to consider is the fact that dubstep and many other modern genres are simpler (and do not mistake it for easy, just simpler) to do if you are just one person, which is the case with many of the brony artists.
  18. Probably saying "Eeeyup" as a positive answer quite often without realising it. I can't say that about "Nope" because I did that before MLP. Also saying "Yay." when something good happens. I also seem to be humming Smile, smile, smile when I'm really pissed off Edit: Oh, yeah, and the music. I now listen to some kinds of music I never liked before. In fact I still don't like them, apart from the pony sort.
  19. I never quite got why you have to either unquestionably love or deeply hate everyone in Mane 6. I definitely wouldn't say she's a hated character, but there sure is a whole lot of the "Hey, let's make a thread to smear RD for no reason!" / "Hey, look, another RD hating thread, let's defend!" stuff around. I guess distinct personality attracts that.
  20. I hate to break it to you, but "I think that..." generally indicates someone is stating their personal belief or an opinion. On the other hand if you try to validate your opinion with statistics, that's where it get awkward, especially if the statistic you use is really bad. Still wonder what it does have to do with ragequits. Did you rage quit back then, came back now and got offended by what I said? Too bad you never came around to actually got to addressing anything I said so far, could have been a fun talk. But yeah, shame on me for not spotting a troll sooner. See ya.
  21. Well, I believe it's official that they are all somewhere over 20, simply put the "young adult" category. Didn't Faust actually say that long time ago? Other than that, I always perceived AJ to be the oldest one. I'd put her close to 30 actually. Both because of how she behaves and some of the more elaborate speculations about her, her family and especially her parents. After AJ I'd probably put Rarity, mostly because she seems to be too accomplished in her field to be "just barely out of teens". After that, I really don't know, I'd put the rest in the same age category +- year or two
  22. I probably would side with her. To be honest, I found it to be rather suspicious how fast everyone dismissed her, considering the princess wasn't all that nice to them. Except for maybe Shining Armor, because it is kind of makes sense to side with your spouse on your own wedding, no matter what anyone around says. But that the Mane 6(or 5) dismissed her despite how desperate she seemed to be is just wrong, especially considering the lesson they've all "learned" in the Swarm of the century episode, you know, all this "Trust your friends even if what they say and do seems kinda crazy" stuff. Guess they didn't remember that.
  23. Well, I will just say that if you want to support your opinion with statistics, anonymous forum polls with under a thousand participants are not the best way to prove anything, apart from that it's really just your opinion. And that's actually fine, opinions are good and very subjective. Tho I still don't fully understand what does that have to do with the fact that the people who started to randomly offend and attack others who actually had nothing to do with anything just because they didn't like an episode are assholes, rather than people presenting an opinion. Because, you see, one could at least do a little bit of research before randomly stabbing around, for example, people who like something you don't aren't at fault there, I can tell you that for a fact. Oddly enough, blaming the actual crew who makes the episode is shortsighted and somewhat ignorant just as well, if you have even the slightest clue as to how the busyness they are in works.
  24. Well, it's kind of what I meant by "way too much Spike". But then again, someone likes Spike (I sure don't) and would perhaps consider episodes centered on some particular pony from the mane 6 bad. But there was nothing wrong with the episodes themselves up till the last one. And while it was terribly mashed together and rushed, it doesn't justify the reaction. I can respect or at least tolerate opinions, on the other hand, what the people in question presented was not an opinion, it was more of a stream of random curses and unfinished sentences. Similarly, the outrage about Twillycorn - not reasonable, noone can really say until the S04, only then we can decide whether it's ok, good or bad, until then it's just a terrible unsubstantial bias.
  25. You know, I'm pretty sure that if you searched hard enough, you'd actually find and image depicting just that. And I disagree. I think it is perfectly fine and fair. I guess we could objectively say that this season had way too much Spike, but I don't think the episodes were of bad quality at all and I know a lot of people would agree with me. The last episode is, of course, a bit different cup of coffee so to speak. Even so, it is not enough to make people who by themselves proclaim that they love and enjoy the show literally freak out and go into a rage more about it, spiting on the show and the community - and that's why I say they either have no integrity or didn't really like the show and community all that much to begin with.
