  1. I see nothing wrong with trying to / wanting to make money from whatever it is you do and I don't think it diminishes the value of your work either. If we could live for free and feast on mana falling down from the sky, it would be different, but then again, it is not the case. I think Alexander is slightly crazy and wrong not because of is paycheck, but because of his views.
  2. Went to a prom in a huge, historic theatre building, had a mandatory dance, mandatory "Blah blah" from the shool director, more "blah blah" from school teachers and then we swiftly left along with few of the cool teachers, went to a music club and got horribly drunk while badmouthing bad teachers, arriving home midday the next day, moaning about hangover and inherent coolness of getting drunk in fancy clothes. All in all, not bad. Ah, the nostalgy.
  3. Yeah, there are many "books" even if shorter and purely digital, unpublished form or rather cryptic and hiden tomes noone know that are truly bad and hold very little value, BUT it's a bit different case as it often is either a practice of writing skill, unskilled authors trying to share ideas and stories or simply a person getting their thoughts in order and then slapping it somewhere. It's fair to criticize them in a constructive way, but I wouldn't ever go into calling the bad as such, it would be very much like badmouthing tiny indie game developers for not having Crysis 3 graphical fidelity. I pick 50 shades because it is oddly and in rather unfortunate way combining different worlds, it is a -bestseller-, very much so, at the same time, it has all the problems (mostly related writing skill I would say) fanfiction tends to have and last, but not least (and this is purely subjective) the story, concept and aim of the book(s) are just horribly bad. The author's use of metaphors, let's call it, was almost physically hurting me at times. "The glorios pulsing sausage of love paddling the silky canoe of desire" style. Oh please. Not to mention I found the "He slapped her a little on the backside - SO HARDCORE!" made me feel like I stole a diary of some lonely puritan girl who read something about SM and didn't quite get it. I know, I'm being harsh, but then again, it is a bestseller and was marketed as something it most definitely is not, so I do consider it fair.
  4. There is no limit as to how bad book can be, but I'll assume you are thinking more along the "mainstream" releases. In that case, 50 shades of Grey. Horrible writting style, horrible story, horible concept, childish, naive... It's hard to name anything that is good about the book. I still regret reading it, even if it was just to see what the hype is about. I mean come on, it's not even interesting when it comes to the sexual ideas, it's like invading the mind of 12 years old. Bleh.
  5. I keep giving my drawings away, seems to make people happy and makes my wallet happy too. Not sure if it's the best tho. Best thing I received was "handmade" sword, but then again, the friend who made that is an actual artistic blacksmith, so I guess it's not really something you can make on your lap while watching a TV. But it definitely is the best.
  6. Well I don't know, maybe I just have more "faith in humanity" left than I actually thought, I didn't really consider there are people who do honestly, truly (so, not as a joke or a namecalling of sorts) believe they can (1) know sexuality of any person by knowing one show they watch and (2) they could then turn that into offense, because either one of those points would call their intellect to question, let alone executing both of those at once, that would just make one... I don't know, too weakminded to really be considered self-conscious...? Either way, I didn't really see many people who seemed like they thought about it, just went in, said "ur gay lolz rolflomao lol!!!!!1!OMG" so I'd still say it's almost exclusively those trollish people who keep calling everything gay, for a reason nooone will ever find. I do overthink pretty much everything, but looking at this topic, we may get to Zionists and Illuminati yet.... but I think we are really just talking about encountering "a stupid".
  7. I think you're kinda misplacing "exhausting" and "painful". Casting spells is supposed to be rather hard and take a lot of energy, but just because something is truly exhausting, doesn't mean it hurts. If you watch someone lift something really heavy, the face expression isn't much different from pain, sure, yet it does not hurt. Actually, I don't think I have to explain that part, I would guess you did something hard sometime in your life.
  8. I feel a little bit bad to say this after you wrote such a long theory on this, but... Nope. The reason Bronies are called gay is because the people who actually harbor hatred for bronies are the kind of people who call everything "gay", as they often see it as funny or a cool offensive word, even more so when the thing in question is rather cute.
  9. Before: Colorful, super-cute, probably pretty stupid. After: Colorful, super-cute, actually rather clever. I never really was very close-minded to such things and it was that famous at the time I started to watch, it was just that the history taught me most of the cartoons are rather dull / annoying / obnoxious even if they look fun. Turned out only thing dull / annoying / obnoxious about this one was Spike. Just joking, don't release the hounds.
  10. Not the most obvious choice I guess, but PS Vita, I really love that thing. Plus being able to play all the old PS1/2 games is cool. And, *drumroll* Persona 4 Golden.
  11. It's not the greatest thing ever, but it's pretty good. And free. Free calling with or without video option, text IM as good as any included, both can be done with pretty much any number of people you wish, everything very easy to get, install and use. Good sound quality, also. Downside definitely is relatively higher strain on the connection of the users, but with half-decent connection, it's hardly ever noticeable. As for security and NSA and such... Well, I wouldn't use it for super-important talks or planning of assassination, but other than that, I don't really think it's any more insecure than majority of of programs of this kind. You can also call actual phone numbers for very low costs, but haven't tried that personally.
  12. Sure, because I'm very manly man and openly do only manly things like fishing, being manly, weight lifting, manliness training and drinking beer in dirty underwear while being manly. I always only wear black and blue colors, as they are the manly ones, never shave my face the right way so I always have manly "5 o'clock shadow" and use smirk paper to wipe my ass. You must be at least that manly, or you are no man at all, u homo girl lul. Seriously tho, no shame, even pride (I'm not proud I managed watch series, it's just the community effect) and as I've said time and time again, I see no reason to feel any bad. Unless you fit into the category described above, then you might have a problem. Don't let the ancient and ever-so-wrong gender stereotypes rule you.
  13. Well, when a person writes and uses things like u, u2, rolfmao, lol, 4, cuz and many, many others without a good reason (let's say short text messages or a chat in a hectic game session for example), it makes me raise an eyebrow and consider them a "lesser" person or a stupid kid, which in turn causes me to either be slightly aggressive towards them or completely disregard whatever they are trying to communicate. Can't help it, just happens. Other than that, it's probably the way how some people use the word literally. "That guy literally exploded with rage!" Yeah... I really doubt that. Unless there is some new disease that makes people explode in a splash of blood and guts when they get angry. Yes, you can use it as an intensifier as many great authors of the ages past used it, the problem is those people don't mean that, they simply think it makes them look smarter, even tho it does the opposite. Things like exploding rage, jumping out of skin, mouth on fire and many others are figurative speech, you don't have to specify that, but if you put literally there, then you are suggesting it is NOT figurative, which is just amazing.
  14. When I know I am right and someone else is wrong, I will not let it slide until the other person acknowledges it, even if it means irreversibly ruining the relationship. Just as well as I tend to stick with my other principles no matter the situation, which already caused a lot of havoc in my life. Someone could say this kind of "integrity" is a good trait, but it really isn't, I just can't let go of it without feeling like I'm violating myself at the same time.
  15. Well, I'm not a huge fan of FPS or rather "modern-military-shooter" genre, so I don't like it very much and I think we can objectively say it's quite redundant, like, say, FIFA games, gets a new release every year, tho it's pretty much the same thing over and over. If you enjoy the multiplayer, I'd say it might be worth it, but if not and you take a look at the very, very short, linear and simple SP and the pricetag, it's pretty terrible ratio of fun / money. Personal opinion: Let it finally die and come with something new and innovative, rather than doing copy-paste for yet another decade.
  16. Light brown with bits of blue, green and yellow-ish. Yes, I'm serious, I have it all. I'd like to think I have nice and somewhat unusual eyes, tho I remember a friend once told me that my eye color is what you'll get when you chew milk chocolate with cheeseburger and then spit it out. I decided to take it as a compliment at the time.
  17. I wouldn't really mind, but I'd say it's not really that likely. South Park tends to go after things people tend to view as controversial or untouchable (religion, politics, social values, Hitler...), bronies aren't really that, seeing how even the worst trash of the society feels it's ok to make fun of bronies.
  18. Oh, the football guy. I actually forgot about him completely. I swear, it's a long time since I watched it. But yeah, that was actually a developed character and it seemed like he's going to stick around as permanent secondary character. But if you want to get emotional, go watch Attack on Titan, I promise you won't regret it. And even if the "deep feeling" were just unique to me, the action and animation is still worth it. (Really, why are you still reading, go watch, nao.)
  19. Tykie? Wasn't it Tyki? Tyki Mikk, Noah of pleasure? And nice character he's resposibile for... Yaeegar? Suman? (I really liked both of them. Suman especially for some reason) It's quite some time since I watched D-Gray.man, should watch it again. But as far as I'm concerned, Attack on Titan is much more hardcore in that respect. I don't know if it's just me, but the anime really succeeds in making me very emotional about what's going on in a very short time. If you watch a story with 100 episodes about a few people, then it's natural you kind of bond with them, but AoT makes me really, really care in a very short time. Also has the ability to invoke this "Yes, this is the epic moment!*great anticipation*" feeling and then, in a few seconds make me go "Oh noooo... *very sad*" as some character I really loved gets murdered in some very ugly, graphic and very final way (since many heroes in anime "die" but then come back) and everything fails. They even go very far with those things. It's not enough to just horribly kill the beloved character, they have to have a scene where friend finds the body and... Well, let's say they did something pretty nasty instead of a nice, sad funeral scene.
  20. Chrome is good and the Chrome pony is really cute. But I think I actually voted for it because I like the browser. The ponies are all pretty cool. But the IE... Come on, why would you do that, now I feel bad about thinking about IE as I do.
  21. I think I got hit only twice in my childhood, in both cases it was a slap from my mother after I back-talked so much that she, for the lack of better term, snapped. Other than that, my punishments were mostly limited to PC, internet and games. And boy oh boy, was the internet restriction hard to violate back in the time when it was billed per minute. Those were the times, ha, downloading 5mb was "kind of a big deal" and floppy discs were "the shit".
  22. Loud music, lot of coffee and nicotine, healthy pauses with PC games and/or anime/manga. Tho, having a full-time job, part time job and a university... I feel this year will be rather interesting for me.
  23. That's what bugged you when thinking about realism? Additionally, was it supposed to be realistic in any shape or form? I would say nope. I'd say they just tried to make it very clear for people to see who is who.
  24. I honestly cannot remember single time I cried. Not even when I was a kid. Sometimes I really think that part of my face is broken, because the most that ever happened is that my eyes get a little more wet (but no tears) and I really feel like I should be crying. Now that I think about it, you know how some unexpected or really big pain makes people shed a tear or two? Doesn't work for me either. I guess I'm that dry. But recently, I watched Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) and *SPOILER...* ...the way that anime presents you a nice and cool character, then makes you you like them and then in some moment that looks like "the heroes finally triumph"... suddenly and without any warning kills them in some very innovative, hardcore and unexpected way. I'm not sure about the reason why, but especially the part where Levi's squad gets killed got me and when Petra was, well... (s)mashed, got me as down as I can really get.
  25. I don't find the meme annoying, but I do find him and the story concept annoying. When I watched the "touch" scene I was like "Oh, no, you wouldn't do -that- scene. Oh. Oh no, come on. *hands touch, blush* Oh for crying out loud, now just make him play guitar and go to prom with Twilly *Flash plays guitar and goes to prom with Twilly* FFFF....".
