  1. Well, that made me smile. But yes, I have no problem whatsoever with people holding tightly to their personal faith and beliefs, as long as it doesn't include hurting, limiting or killing others and animals for example, but when it comes to a religion as an institution, that is where the problems start. People in religion way too often just repeat and blindly believe in what other people told them they should say and believe in, with no regards to how much harm it does in the world. Sad thing is that it's often even good people who do such things, without realising they are just being used by others (and those are flesh and blood humans, no gods). And that is great because it is an ideal you can hold no matter what god or entity you believe in (or what god or entity you do not believe in just as well), but religion as mentioned before makes it so much harder to hold this ideal without compromises.
  2. Probably RD. She's not motherly type at all, but seeing her personality, being raised by her would probably lead to me being even worse cocky bastard than I am now. That would be awesome.
  3. The funny thing is, some people would say you are just jumping the train to hell for thinking like this. Tho what I always say, if the God is what or who is he supposed to be, then he made me the way I am and knows precisely how and why I came to every decision in my life, moreover he knew my decisions even before he made me, so he couldn't possibly send me to hell for doubting him or his book. If he would, then that would pretty much make him the ultimate and the most evil villain in all existence. Then I could be grilled for an eternity knowing I am better than he is.
  4. My image for the future... Option 1: Boom. Nuclear one. Option 2: Boom. Chemical or viral. Option 3: Boom. Whole new kind of bomb we don't know yet. Option 4: Pandemia. Most die of this or that illnes. Option 5: Hunger and clean water is a rarity, humanity destroys itself over the remaining resources. Conclusion: Not much to speak of then. Be it the next day or in 1000 years, I have a firm belief we will destroy ourselves. Unless the nature will be faster, but I think it won't. Some humans will survive in tribal-like culture, stuck with mix of technology from stone and space age.
  5. While I find that to be cool, I'm rather surprised the people in church accepted it. I'd say this would end very badly in most churches. Well, you know, when there is eternal pain, burning and torture at stake, I'm not sure "it's open to interpretation" is such a good thing. But I guess that's a whole different topic. Have to wonder when the majority oh humanity figures that one out. Or rather - if ever. Can't say it looks like we're getting close, more like the other way around.
  6. Yeah, serpents are the obvious ones, but there were other animals too, even tho they didn't do anything very remarkable. The God's donkey didn't either at that. Anyway, how old is the pastor? I know many started to make things more interesting than just standing there and citing Bible in gloomy voice tone, but I didn't see anyone this innovative and cheerful. I've seen quite a few too, you could say visiting different churches and seeing how they lead it there is kind of a pet project of mine. All those passages about tolerance and love seem a bit sketchy to me, in fact, you could even say they say to not be respectful, tolerant or loving of many thing, people and opinions. Especially when it comes to schisms inside the religion or other religion. I phrased it in a bit weird way, but what I actually meant is that we all can be nice and civil regardless of what Bible or any other document for that matter says about it. Gee, that sounds so wrong when I say it.
  7. Well, I can see where those people are coming from, I mean, talking animals were generally considered devil's handiwork or even the devil himself, later in christian history, it was connected to witchcraft. Tho God had "talking ass" (you know, as in donkey), which I guess is close to horses, which in turn is close to ponies. But I apart from that pretty much all talking animals were a big no-no as far as I'm aware. Anyway, you have brony minister/priest/pastor? That doesn't sound too bad. I think that is the one thing no classical religion says, BUT we could agree it's nice thing to do in our human to human interaction here and now.
  8. I actually like my name. It's pretty international, so no problems wherever you go, it's not exactly rare, but not very common either, which is fine and as a bonus it has a nice, erm, synergy with my surname. I'm almost tempted to say that my full name is cool. Also, it's meaning can be "ever powerful" which isn't too shabby either. I prolly wouldn't change it, even tho I would most likely not pick this one if I were to name myself. Also "if you could change your name..." - you actually can (in most countries at least), it just takes administrative fees and a lot of paperwork. Unless you want some sort of joke-name, then it may be denied.
  9. I'd say Mare Do Well (but that might be my RD bias talking). If your friend becomes too proud of what they do (even if they do really well) - destroy them, humiliate them - until there is no pride left and they stop doing what they were proud of and preferably do it in such a way that they won't find out it's you, so you can mock them about it later. There are many quite bad things in the show in this respect, but this one really stuck with me, because it was told in such a sneaky way and presented as the good thing to do - and before all, it doesn't depend on the MLP universe as most of the other "hug everyone" morals. You know, in Equestia you can talk and befriend the villains, because they won't pull out AK-47 out and shoot you in the face. But in the Mare-do-well story that wasn't the case.
  10. I guess "glad" since I'm not sure it's really something to be proud of per se. It's not like really liking something or having an opinion is such an achievement. Since I always was and will be sucker for cute stuff, watching the show just makes me happy. And when there is something blue and rainbowy (Yes, that's a word now) it's even better. But I think the strength of MLP is really in the community and all the amazing art, music, writing and other things it produces. If it was the show only, well, that just wouldn't be "it".
  11. It really depends on what is defined as celebrity... World-wide celebrities, I think I haven't spoke with any in person. I never tried to meet any either. I'm not very interested to be honest, thing is, most of people I consider celebrities and heroes are totally unknown to majority. When it comes to "national-level" celebrities, one of the top opera singers is my long-lost relative and one of recently popular actors is a person I know since childhood. I also literally bumped into the prime minister while shopping, which led to awkward "Do I know you? ... Oh, right... " moment. Other than that, I meet a lot of politicians in work very often, but that isn't really great, since I happen to seriously dislike almost all of them. Oh, right, and I met with and spoke for quite a while with Seth Andrews and TB, if anyone knows who those guys are.
  12. I didn't really expect anything, wasn't even planning to watch it at first. I'd just say it's not bad. It's certainly not great tho. A lot of it doesn't make much sense as far as the story goes and it had this "teen romantic comedy" vibe I really don't like very much. I think I would actually say "Hey, that was fun." if there wasn't this " Oh my gosh, I met the boy of my dreams, my hair is ruined AND the prom is tomorrow!" theme.
  13. Well, since you said MMO, rather than MMORPG ... Warframe. Third person sci-fi action with a bit of RPG. That game is a bit hit or miss and is currently in beta, but it's absolutely free (unless you decide to shop in the cash shop, which has almost nothing you couldn't get by just playing) so it won't cost you anything to give it a shot. I'll not describe it any further, since you can simply find and download it to test it out or read on it. I'm currently really absorbed by this game. I honestly never felt such an enjoyment in any action or shooter game. There is something magical about space-faring mecha-ninjas, sprint-sliding, running on walls and jumping high into the air, shooting with double-pistols and then slicing someone in two halves with a huge axe as you land.
  14. Made me chuckle a bit I have to admit. Love or hate social and casual games, they are games, if you enjoy them, play them, that is what they are for. It doesn't make you any better or lesser person or gamer, really. What is a real game and real gamer anyway? It's all about what you like. Strictly personal. I could say classic RPGs are the real games and playing FPS makes you a kid, but that would be just nonsense, we have so many genres so everyone can find what they like.
  15. I'm bi, as I've said in the "other" topic. And I still think you are just forcibly limiting yourself if you say you swing strictly one way. If you tell me you've never ever seen a person of the same sex as you are whom you found to be attractive, I'd say you are not telling the whole truth. It's just about whether you actually embrace it or shove it deep down, lock the doors and earse all mentions of it. Also, worthy of note, I never had a single problem with my sexuality, even tho I never was hiding it. Everyone who wanted to know (Mmaybe even some people who didn't ), knows, nobody minds. Maybe I have so acceptable surroundings... or maybe I'm just that charming. From what I've collected and seen first hand, it's not pride as you mean it, it is more of a "You can kick me down for who I am, but I will stand up and continue being who I am" and as such, proud to be the person they are, perhaps even wear it as a badge. It's different than being proud of something per se, at least in my eyes. As for the grouping, yeah, never (well, usually) leads to a good thing, but on the other hand, people, as in humans are stupid. You can end up being viewed as a part of "likeminded community" even tho you aren't, never did anything to act as if you were and the community doesn't actually exist. I mean... come on, there are people who think black people are all a community where everyone knows everyone else and move as one (admittedly, people who think that are usually old and senile, but still). So why not bag all LGBT together.
  16. Well, I don't live with my family anymore, so that eliminates quite big chunk of this. But I do have a lunch and an afternoon of chatting on the weekends with my mother's side of the family (well, it's really just two people, so it's not this huge family lunch you might imagine) and I go to my dad who lives in a different city than me when I have the free time and we always get drunk terribly and talk about pretty much anything and everything. Which is kinda awesome, actually. And that's about it, really.
  17. I had this avatar before it was cool. *cough* For cute overload: As for the opinion, I think glasses very much can look great, badass and even sexy, you just have to pick the right glasses and wear then with pride, haha.
  18. I say Twillight, but it has no basis anywhere whatsoever, it's just something I'd personally like. *creepy smile* (Erm, haha.) On the realistic side, if it was AJ, it would even kind of make sense. You know what I mean, no explanation needed. The straight side, I accidentally clicked Soarin', but I'd like to see none, actually.
  19. Probably. I mean, I'd say yes, but if there was an actual chance to jump trough one-way portal, I don't know If I would go. Probably yes, if I could do a last few things and say a few good-byes. I mean, world where everyone does what they really like, everyone seems happy, when a problem occurs, there always is a hero who will save the day... I especially like the the idea of having a job based on your talents and what you like. Would make life much more enjoyable. And the cuteness everywhere. But while I'm at it I'd prolly go for another world. And seeing how I have things like Warhammer in mind, I would prolly die there terribly in a few weeks, but, well, it still would be worth it.
  20. I can think of so many... so, so many. There are many great animes and mangas and they tend to stir emotions a lot. AT least for me. One scene I can always think of and love for almost 15 years now is from Cowboy Bebop - Ballad of the fallen angels. If you know it, watch it again, if you don't, watch it anyway, it's not really having many spoilers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=w-jcE8kqK9k But there are many I can think of. Trigun, Clannad, Rurouni Kenshin, Code Geass, Wolf's Rain... I can't continue, because I would forget something and feel bad later.

    technology Google Glass?

It's kinda like a weird phone. I'm not really excited about it and doubt I'll buy it unless the price drops enough to fit into my "Fun funds" category. But I'm really excited about the technology, I know it has been done before, but this is the first time it is really widely available and has a big campaign behind it, so I hope we'll see more of OHMD soon thanks to it.
  22. Well, the author tries to be informative and funny and I'd say he did a bit half-assed job at both of those. Half of it isn't true or funny. I wouldn't say the author was a brony or spent a whole lot of time researching the topic, but I guess we should take it for what it is - fun article on entertainment website. And yes, personally I also classify Brony as a "fan of MLP", regardless of gender or whether they like only some part or embrace all of it. Tho I would probably add that Brony , in my opinion anyway, should be really used on a person who actually took some deeper interest than just watching a few episodes, be it art, music, forums, clopping or whatever else.
  23. Well, I just gave it a quick look and I can see whole KH soundtrack on Youtube, just as well as Sanctuary, by various posters, many versions of it... So, I don't know. Maybe someone just decided to take down their account or a video. Or maybe forgot to put up the copyright notice. Seeing what Atari and Nintendo sometimes does in the recent years, it wouldn't be that surprising, but I just don't see it now.
  24. Since I have such a superior genetic make up I didn't get only wisdom teeth, I also got fully developed, but not growing 9th teeth. It used to be all ok, I had all that stuff, but it didn't grow, but one day, my top right wisdom teeth decided to grow in the wrong direction and ruined my 7th tooth (destroyed the root) and could eventually make my nice, straight teeth go zig-zag, so I had the 7th tooth removed so they could get to the wisdom tooth, which was already pretty deep and while we were at it, we removed the 9th tooth too to avoid future complications. Which pretty much involved digging trough bone to get to it. Well, that's all nice, but the anesthetics wear off after 5 hours and then I felt like someone is constantly drilling into my skull with a huge drill while pouring hot iron on my face for two weeks. Oh and that was when I was taking almost three times more painpills than is the recommended dose. It sure was a new experience. Fracking nature.
  25. Well, huh. I don't really care, but as always with those guys, I didn't find it funny. It's just that CH never really makes fun of something "as is", they just take the worst hyperbole, strawman or stereotype and then make fun of that. It's like making a parody of a parody and that just doesn't work for me. But I guess that comes down to personal taste.
