  1. I think it also depends on how likable an villain is. In cases like Discord where I actually like him better as a villain, it was disappointing to see him reformed. Diamond Tiara on the other hand, desperately needed a reformation. And she got one, since the show crew is so aware of its fanbase and what they want...which by the way is very admirable. Have they overused this reformation thing? No, not really, nor do I dislike the idea of an reformation. I can see why it bothers people (or should that be ponies) but for the most part, I'm cool with it.
  2. My three favourites are Winter Wrap Up, The Cutie Mark Crusaders Song and The Smile Song. Winter Wrap Up...well, it's the first big group musical number in the show and still the greatest. Interesting to note that this is pretty much the only reason people remember that episode. Also, the song is catchy as a cold. The CMC song...oh, dear, this might seem like a totally bizarre choice and it probably is. Well, I find it hopelessly hilarious myself. The instrumentation is absolutely amazing even though it's almost a copy of (I Just) Died In Your Arms by Cutting Crew. The Smile Song...you could say that this is Winter Wrap Up 2 with it coming from an episode that is pretty much only remembered for the song. I like it because it's really catchy and we get our biggest look at Pinkie's character at the point.
  3. Wow...my predictions were all wrong. Well, I did get to see Twilight's old friends again, even though it wasn't in the way I expected. In fact, none of this was like I expected it. Except Starlight getting reformed because I could see that coming a mile away. But...wow, just wow. I was actually left somewhat speechless. In the end, Starlight kinda reforms herself. Sure, it's Twilight who triggers the change but it was Starlight's own choice. Starlight being reformed itself? I've never been bothered by any redemption yet except Diamond Tiara and this was no exception. Starlight probably won't become a main mane character but maybe a secondary character like Spike. This episode and its plot/concept (which was executed wonderfully) was amazing which I always believed since every season finale has been great so far. Only Magical Mystery Cure was slightly iffy at first but I eventually got used to it. Now...what's in it for season six? I'm honestly very interested to find out. Here's to another great season!
  4. Well...I don't know...what was the point of Amending Fences if it's never gonna be brought up again? That would make it a filler episode and a unnecessary one as well. Of course, it's still my favourite episode of the show. What I mean is that Twilight making amends with her Canterlot friends should be an important plot point in season five's (nearly invisible) story arc. If that wasn't made as a plot point, then what's the point of the episode? Fan service? Could probably be the answer, but I would be so disappointed if that was the case. For this very reason, I asked M.A Larson himself on Twitter if Twilight's old friends would appear again. He just said: "We'll see..." Now that doesn't tell me anything. I think he was being vague and that they're gonna appear at some point again and have something planned for them. It could also mean that he hadn't been planning anything. But I then read the Netflix description for part two of the season finale. Well, it says that Twilight and her friends continue to fight Starlight's attempts to alter the past. Of course, this is almost 99% sure to be the main Mane Five...but there might be the very tiny chance that it might be Twilight's Canterlot friends. Amending Fences came and went without being brought up in a later episode. Even "What About Discord?" in which Twilight was supposed to have returned from a trip to Canterlot. This gave me the tiny hope that Twilight had went there to visit her friends there. So...I'm confused about that. Now, about the season finale itself. Well, me, personally, think it's gonna end just like any other MLP season...on a happy note. The show can't get possibly get any darker. The season finale should always end happily! Well, if that's the case, then consider me uninterested. But, maybe the journey to the destination will be better. After all, a lot can happen and we actually don't know how the season finale is gonna end. I would really want the show to try something different for their season finale. Like end it on a cliffhanger, like someone else said in this thread. I would go on but I don't have the information I need. I'll continue later.
  5. Moondancer and Minuette. Nopony else even comes close except maybe Starlight Glimmer.
  6. It's music - I absolutely adore listening to music. Oh and I love to write stories too.
  7. Yes, dyziomon...I am interested in archeology...but just a little. It's not something I actively read about but it's fun when I read about it.
  8. Hello, dyziomon! I'm also sorta new here... Well..hope you enjoy it here! I've been having a great time on here so far and I hope you can share my sentiments...or should that be sediments? Hehe...
  9. There's actually a lot of episodes this season that I didn't like. So...it's basically just another regular season. Here they are (complete with comments)! They are not ranked in how much I dislike them, by the way. Just in the season order. 1: Tanks For The Memories (Rainbow bugged me in this episode with her behaviour. Fluttershy was amazing, though even if she barely got any screen time in the episode) 2: Appleloosa's Most Wanted (Meh...just meh) 3: Make New Friends but Keep Discord (Sorry...just a heads-up. I don't like Discord this season) 4: The Lost Treasure Of Griffonstone (Just didn't find it all that interesting...but that's my opinion) 5: Slice Of Life (Oooh...this might need more explanation since the episode is hilarious, it's absurdly hilarious. But there's nothing at stake in the episode, at least no high ones. I don't really agree with Lyra's portrayal personally, but that's just me. I found Derpy to be meh, Sweetie Drops...no. The characters weren't that interesting, apart from Doctor Whooves. He was great. I believe Amending Fences would have been a much better 100th episode) 6: Princess Spike (This is mostly due to Spike being screwed over and forced to take blame for it as well) 7: Do Princesses Dream Of Magical Sheep? (No, they don't. And it even further cemented my dislike towards Luna) 8: Brotherhooves Social (Urgh...this episode was painful to sit through) 9: Crusaders of the Lost Mark (I'm not gonna win many friends with this one...this is my least favourite episode of the season) 10: What About Discord? (This episode paints Twilight as the antanogist when she's completely in the right. Also, Discord is horribly unfunny) 11: The Hooffields and McColts (Ugh...after rewatching a couple of times, this episode became painful to sit through) And the rest? They're great! Aside from these eleven episodes, season 5 is doing incredible. It's better than season 1 at least, and just ahead of season 3. It's about equal with season 2 right now. Season 4 is still my favourite season.
  10. My main problem with The Smile Song (I think that's the official song title?) is that it almost has no bearing on the episode where it comes from. It comes out of nowhere and is never brought up again. But hang on...maybe Pinkie wasn't supposed to be a main character and just a pony that the writers decided to give the spotlight for one episode. A Friend In Deed would then be the episode that introduced Pinkie. What better way to show off her personality than with a catchy, upbeat song? Actually, there are a lot of ways but whatever. My point is, that the song came too late in the show's run. Yes, it's a season two song, that technically makes it an early song but I think this should have been one of the very first songs. We got Pinkie's Laughter Song in the second episode of season 1. This would then fully complete her personality to the viewers. Therefore, A Friend In Deed should have been one of the first episodes of the show. Of course, it wasn't and I doubt the writers even thought of this. Anyway...about the song itself, I think it's the best song of season two, bar none. Actually, this could be one of the best moments in the entire show. No other song in the show has taught me so much about something without sounding expositional. Yes, I didn't like Rules Of Rarity. Well, scratch that, there's a other song that taught me something without sounding expositional. And that would be Flim & Flam's Cider Song. That song tells me exactly who they are and what they are in Ponyville for...without making me lose my interest. Like B.B.B.F.F. Wow...I do take this show way too seriously.
  11. The only names I could come up with was Midknight, Midnight Night or Moonlit Knight but I don't know if that'll really work. Maybe Knightwing? Or Knightmare...oh, wait. I'm useless at coming up with names for things.
  12. Oh, in the real world? Well, I can safely write off Lyra then. I think she would spend more time gawking at the human world than actually spending time with her date. Maybe I should also exclude Twilight from the list. If she gets into the library, well, we won't be getting out of that library for a while. Minuette, perhaps? She is my favourite pony, of course but hmm...I'm not actually sure. Sure, I know she'll stay positive and happy the entire time because that's part of her personality but will she actually listen to what I'm going to say or will she just babble on her own? As for Pinkie...well, no. Rarity, I could maybe enjoy chatting with, although, she'll probably have a heart attack as soon as she gets a look at what I usually wear. Rainbow Dash? Pass. Applejack? Well...I don't know anything we have in common. Fluttershy is a social disaster (ironic considering her cutie mark) and in my hometown, she would probably get pushed around by the local teenagers. Huh...none of my choices work. I'll have to think harder on this one.
  13. One of the reasons I loved Amending Fences so much was because it made one of my headcanons canon. What was the headcanon? Well...that Twilight had friends in Canterlot and that Moon Dancer was hurt by Twilight not coming to her party. Yes, I pretty much predicted this episode one year ago. It's weird. My other headcanons have not yet made canon. Wanna hear one of them? It's one about Rainbow Dash. So, what is it? Well...I thought that maybe Rainbow could have had problems with her family which could be the reason why she dropped flight school, and following that, Rainbow moved to Ponyville on her birthday. That's just my headcanon. And my headcanons...aren't that good and not supported well.
  14. That was...better than the last episode at least. I just saw the episode a few minutes ago and I haven't come up with anything really good to say about it. I could say that the episode was predictable...but it's the journey, not the destination, that matters. The journey itself was fine, some good gags here and there. Maybe I found it a little dull at times. Just maybe. Twilight's character here was great...yeesh, I'm making it so obvious that Twilight is my favourite of the Mane 6. Fluttershy's character was fine and her information dump about how the feud got started worked pretty well. I'm not sure if I'm irritated by the fact that it was basically the cute animals who saved the day...seriously, who didn't see that twist coming? Fluttershy kept saving animals the entire episode, so it had to lead up to something. Otherwise, that repeating gag would have come off as weird. The Hooffields and McColts themselves? Well...I can't say they were all that interesting to me. Personally, I expected this episode to be darker, but then I realized...oh, right, this is MLP. I think that the ending was a bit rushed, though. They changed on a dime! Maybe if they became silent for a few seconds and then changed, it wouldn't have had seemed rushed to me. That's just me, though. Anyway, decent episode, nothing special but not every episode needs to be that. I liked it.
  15. Huh. Unexpectedly disappointing. I really thought this episode would be more interesting. The concept was good and the fact that she returned from a trip from Canterlot made me very excited. You know what I mean. The latter dream was immediately crushed by Twilight sorting books in the library in her castle and not in Canterlot as the story description said. I also found Discord to be boring in this episode along with the rest of the main cast. I learned nothing new about Discord and the rest just kept on laughing. One thing I can very slightly forgive is that the jokes weren't funny at all. That's because they were meant to be unfunny. The story did keep me interested at least a little. And Twilight was great in this episode along with Spike. Spike's burn at the end of the episode was the best part of the entire thing. Otherwise, very uninteresting episode. I hope the next episode does better. It's a Twilight/Fluttershy episode. This one should be interesting. 4/10.
  16. I have to say, if Moondancer went to Ponyville instead of Twilight, I would think that she would get the Element of Magic. Because who was it who tried to break out of her shell and throw a party? That's right. And seeing how similar Twilight and Moondancer are...that would probably mean Moondancer would become the Princess of Friendship. Of course, that's just my opinion.
  17. I don't have any pony merchandise, nor do I plan to get any. Not because I don't want any...but it's because I'm afraid of what might happen if someone finds out. That would utterly suck and my life would be ruined. Wait, what? No, seriously, I'm already getting bullied in school and if THAT slips out, well, they're never gonna let me live that down. And of course, they'll mock me even harder. Geez, I live a depressing life when I join the fan forum for a show about friendship...yeah, it's kinda weird. So, I just watch the show in secret. I haven't told anyone and I don't plan to do that either. I'm too afraid...I'm worse than Fluttershy. ...I'm just gonna sing the Smile Song to myself now.
  18. I'm sure they'll be happy since obviously discontent is the worst crime you could commit in Equestia...just kidding. There will probably be some confusion at first, though.
  19. Well, as soon as I heard her name, I figured that she must be a foil for Twilight. Really, it's not hard to see it coming. At least Starlight Glimmer is a pretty cool name. Although, right now, I'm not that interested in this character to be honest. Her actions in The Cutie Map are certainly unique and the fact that she interrupts Twilight's friendship speech is a interesting choice but that's about it. What do we know about her aside from her personality of welcoming-at-first-then-suddenly-evil-and-grumpy? Not that much, actually. She obviously has something against cutie marks in which I can kinda see where she's coming from - having a specific cutie marks kinda locks you into doing what the cutie mark says. This is shown when the equal sign cutie mark prevented the Mane 6 from being their usual selves. That's interesting. Maybe there's some envy, too? Being envious of someone's talent/cutie mark shouldn't be too out of the ordinary. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon used to bully the CMC all the time about them not having cutie marks so I can't see it not being ordinary. But that's not exactly related to Starlight now, am I right? She favors equality which is the extent her personality goes to. It's not very deep. I hope they can do more with this character in the season finale since she's gonna appear in it. Wait, wait, wait! If she has a spell that can change time, that means that she can prevent Twilight from ever meeting Applejack and the others which would mean that Twilight would have either searched endlessly in Ponyville or stayed in Canterlot which could lead to Twilight forming a alternate Mane 6 with her Canterlot friends in order to get the Elements of Harmony again. Of course, that would probably not work due to it not being the main Mane 6. That problem could then lead into the next episode where she would be stuck in a situation she doesn't know how to handle. In that case, Starlight's spell would be perfect. It would change everything and I can see them leaving Season 5 on a cliffhanger because this is a very hard situation to get out off without resorting to Deus Ex Machina which most likely will be the way out. If they do that, then my point would be even stronger since that would mean that the writers wrote themselves into a corner with no way out. This is the big problem with complex plots with hard situations because they're very hard to write well. This was the problem with A Canterlot Wedding in that Queen Chrysalis was actually a very great villain but lost to Deus Ex Machina, ...oh, my, I went a little overboard there. Geez, I take this show way too seriously...and I just stole Firebrand's (from FOB Equestria) ending line. Dang it...
  20. I'd say get rid of them all except Twilight so we can have the Canterlot Six reform! Just kidding, hehe. Yes, I love the concept of the Canterlot Six but really, it's not gonna happen. We might hear it mentioned in a later episode but that chance is probably slim. When "What About Discord?" comes around, it'll probably say Twilight visited Celestia or something. I'll keep my hopes up but I won't expect anything.
  21. Well, maybe they've pretty much done everything they could with her character. I mean, we've had very similar lessons in her episodes. Then again, writing a character like Fluttershy isn't easy. It can be very easy to get her out of character while writing and that problem does pop up on some occasions - although it's been fewer each season. I also think that if the episodes in Season 5 don't need Fluttershy, then...well, she doesn't need to be in them. If she doesn't have anything important to say in the episode, she doesn't need to talk. You don't need to shoehorn in a character because a lot of people like him/her. Wait...the show already did that. I'm sorry, but I didn't like Slice Of Life. Anyway, I don't think Fluttershy has become a background pony, it's just that her character hasn't been needed in this season's episodes.
  22. My choices have already been mentioned. Cutie Map, Twilight's Kingdom, The Crystal Empire and more. That's what I get for being late to the party, I guess...
  23. Is Tom allowed? No? Then what about Boulder? Wait...both are rocks. Dang it. Smarty Pants? Angel Bunny? Maybe even the Talking Sandwich...wait, what? *just casually forgetting Spike and Discord...
  24. Thanks for the kind welcoming! I was actually kinda nervous...I gotta remind myself to be more positive.
  25. Um...my favourite pony is Minuette. Why? Well...she reminds me of the person I could be - happy, always happy; being a pollyanna. Instead, I'm more introverted and a bit depressed. I'm gonna change that one day, but I don't know when. But she was my favourite pony even before Amending Fences for some strange reason.
