  1. I'm a Trixie fan and therefore have a predilection towards her best friend. But I like Sunset a lot too, couldn't choose between them if there were no bias to rely on.
  2. It seems like the list is based on power level as a whole, something that works great in universes like Dragon Ball or One Piece where the level of ki and haki pretty much defines who can harm whom. In MLP FiM however, we're talking about magic and there's a huge difference between "power level", "magical abilities" and "spell knowledge". Therefore I don't think that defeating an opponent is enough proof to determine who is stronger. For all we know, the rainbow powers may just have been "the magical power to balance magic" and using it against Tirek caused all the magic that he had stolen to return where it belonged, balancing the magic across Equestria. If that was the case, then we cannot be sure if the rainbow powered mane 6 had more magic than Tirek, we just know that their magic was able to defeat him. I think that MLP FiM's power levels are not to be measured by confrontation alone.
  3. I was wondering if the mane 6 would be in my 10 fave ponies list... Turns out Fluttershy and RD are out of it, still fave but not as much as the next 10 pones: 1. Rarity 2. Applejack 3. Luna 4. Trixie 5. Twilight Sparkle 6. Sweetie Belle 7. Apple Bloom 8. Pinkie Pie 9. Celestia 10. Scootaloo Cheers!
  4. Sounds right, but a 90 minute film would be enough for me.
  5. My favorite princess is Luna, she's my third favorite pony overall only below Rarity and Applejack.
  6. The age and responsibilities of the mane 6's siblings are what impact the most on the time they share with them. On top of that you have the lessons to be learned from each of them when shown on screen. The CMC are strong secondary characters and have the perfect age to learn a lot of lessons, there's no need to compare any other siblings with them, it just wouldn't be fair. The only pony I've seen to have a bigger role and still compare to the rest of the siblings is Maud, she wasn't even mentioned (or shown in Pinkie's memories) before Pinkie Pride yet has been in at least one episode per season since S4, I think the editors are clearly pushing her to the spotlight after the great popularity she had since her first appearance in Maud Pie. The thing about Maud is, even with a bigger spotlight than other siblings, she doesn't seem to share that much time with Pinkie (compared to the CMC) and that's because of her responsibilities, adult brothers and sisters just don't have as much time to share as the youngsters.
  7. I've seen both episodes in which Luna loses her cutie mark and, even if it's an obvious inconsistency, I'd like to think that she's a pinto pony and her cutie mark is just the moon.
  8. I think that Spike is Twilight's #1 friend, but he's like a "younger brother" friend and because of that he's sometimes casted aside from the group. It's not that they don't want him to be a part of the group, but he doesn't fit yet into the group's dynamic. It's somehow similar to the CMC, the CMC are definitely not a part of the mane 6 group even if they are friendly with everyone of them, they're a different group with their own dynamic, yet they have formed a "sisters" group with the CMC and their big sisters in which a new dynamic appears, I bet that Twilight, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie's dynamic would hardly fit when the 6 sisters are together.
  9. @uglybad I'd recommend that you keep watching it, and if you think that an episode or two may hinder your interest maybe wait until the whole is out and marathon it in one or two weekends (if you have the time, that is). That's what I do with shows I like overall, but in which I know there could be episodes I dislike.
  10. You have found the Uniclops, congratulations!
  11. That's a huge overstatement about their interactions during Hearthbreakers. Although you're right in your conclusions, the show itself points out that Sugar Belle is his first actual CRUSH, which means that not only did Big Mac was never with another mare, but he was never attracted to one before, of course assuming that the love poison doesn't count.
  12. Most of the next episodes I do like, but I find them not as interesting to re-watch (if I feel like re-watching old pony episodes). Over a Barrel: I liked the train travel, also liked Little Strongheart and her initial rivalry with Rainbow Dash. A Bird in the Hoof: I liked Twilight's reaction and her bad perception on how Celestia handles punishment for a mistake. I liked Fluttershy's good intentions. Baby Cakes: I liked how Pinkie called the attention of the Cakes without getting frustrated, I also liked that she actually learned by herself how to take care of the babies. It Ain't Easy Being Breezies: I liked how they managed Fluttershy's issue with her element. Flutter Brutter: I liked how they show the closeness of Rainbow Dash to Fluttershy's family implying their long lasting friendship. P.P.O.V.: I liked the characterization each one made of each other when telling their tales to Twilight.
  13. To have each main character with the same number of episodes is not on the top of my list of things that I want to see in the show. Each character have different traits and skills, it's natural to think that they will develop at a different pace, and if that means more spotlight for some of them, then that's alright. This seems about right, it will always be better to have one or two great episodes, than a bunch of episodes in which they force a character's personality to the point of not being themselves (or having a regression). Precisely, and it's not like they can just say: "well, this is a great episode for Rarity, but she's got too many of them already, lets use Flutters instead." The writers and editors do a great job delivering good to amazing seasons, if they would try to force things into being quantitatively balanced all the time, the show's average quality may have not been as good as it is.
  14. I think his ability to do anything has made him an incredibly creative being, but not so smart since he doesn't really needs to think how to do anything, he just snaps his fingers and done. At the same time, Discord's ability to be defensive or distrustful of another being is pretty much non existent as a result of being pretty much a demigod who can do anything with his magic. We have seen several instances of this inability during the show. - When Celestia and Luna imprison him in stone, Discord was being cheerful while throwing the dark vine's seeds totally sure they would work. - When he taunts Twilight to use the elements of harmony on him (both times during Return of Harmony). And what matters to answer this question: - When he is tricked by Tirek, he has Tirek under control with handcuffs, he knows he can do anything and if it doesn't suit him, go back to how he likes it, he's taunted into being truly free and he just took the offer to check it out without realizing that it could backfire. The only time I can think Discord's ever been defensive and distrustful of the situation is during To Where And Back Again when he had no magic. tl;dr: yes he is not smart, because he doesn't need to be.
  15. My guess is that Spike is seen as a younger brother of Twilight, a child, and although they like him a lot, the group does not includes him. It's kind of sad, but it has happened in more than one episode and that's the interpretation I've had of the situation.
  16. There was never a romantic relationship between Big Mac and Marble Pie, they met each other, they were teamed up, they maybe didn't even speak to the other at all (a meaningful conversation at least) and they both blushed out of shyness. Big Mac confirmed Sugar Belle to be his first crush without being under the effects of a magical potion.
  17. I understand, have met a few friends with the same issue with One Piece. And apparently, after its 20th anniversary (manga) it would still have to be developed another 10 years (approximately) before reaching its end. Definitely a good call to drop if its too long for your taste.
  18. If they do something like this it should be done later rather than sooner. It would be a great way to develop the little village and having another branch of the apple family growing in Equestria. Although I would remove the FlimFlam idea to set a scenario in which all the apple family would need development: - Applejack having to run the farm with Apple Bloom's (physical) help only. - Apple Bloom going from little helper to full responsible farm pony. - Big Mac having to grow an orchard from scratch! - Granny Smith having to help both farms (one with her usual duties and the other with all her experience during the foundation of Sweet Apple Acres and Ponyville). So, for all this wishing list to happen, it would have to pass a good amount of time, maybe making Mac moving after getting married to Sugar Belle a few years from season seven's present.
  19. Your avatar looks like Latios.
  20. I stopped watching the anime during the Impel Down arc (hated the animation), but have been up to date with the manga since the end of Enies Lobby.
  21. Sweetie Belle, no contest. Second place is harder to choose between Scootaloo, Luna and Fluttershy.
  22. I really hope no, they haven't even explored the rest of the humane 5, all we have seen of them is the band, their gem powers and a Rarity episode that gave us too little. With their already known personalities, they could become characters of their own (and not just humanized mane 5) just like how Scitwi became when she was included in the franchise. With the mane 5 in CHS, their experience would be on the spotlight giving their counterparts no time to be explored.
