  1. Totally agreeing with you here. They originally stated two alicorn princesses ruling Equestria, since they're both rulers since thousands of years ago we didn't need a reason to why they were alicorns. Then comes Cadance as plot device, with a bit of an issue since they didn't have a strong reason for her being an alicorn during A Canterlot Wedding, but they immediately gave her a reason to be so in the Crystal Empire. With Twilight they also gave a reason, her path was shown from the start so it makes sense if Celestia's plan for her was ascension all along. The only reason I see for Flurryheart is that she's the daughter of an alicorn, but it seems a really weak reason for me. If they should add more alicorns I would only ask for reasonable storylines so they don't jump out of nowhere, and the more they build a world the more difficult it will be to give a believable reason to do so.
  2. I think her redemption arc is complete now, she seems to have forgiven herself and has stopped being so insecure about everything. That being said, she has still to learn from Twilight and she acknowledged it, but I see her taking her decisions and asking Twilight's advice instead of asking her permission which is a defeatist/submissive guilty behavior.
  3. Not only that, if they were missing I bet their family and best friends (Burnt Oak and Mrs. Cake) would be doing everything to find them. Then you have AJ and Applebloom, who are now acquainted to Princess Luna and she could just search the dream realm and reach them, I know she would be happy to help them. Them being alive is not a bad theory, but there's so many subtle things that put the 'dead parents' theory way ahead of it.
  4. He has only expressed interest in Sugar Belle, she's said to be his first (non under spell effects) crush so I don't see a pattern there.
  5. I don't think they're considered goddesses by their subjects, just the cherished leaders of their land. Yes, they have the power to raise the sun and the moon, but they're always referred to do so as part of their jobs as rulers and before them it is said to have been a job for a full team of unicorns. Deities powers over nature are not something mortals would be able to rival, at least on the mythologies I've read about. Not even Discord is said to be a god (always referred to as the Spirit of Disharmony and Chaos) and he's the only one to have shown abilities unmatched by any other being in the show.
  6. Yes, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash seem like long life friends. The other two that may have known each other from fillyhood are Rarity and Applejack, but I think they were just acquaintances before Twilight's arrival to Ponyville.
  7. I also think that was an amazing episode for Starlight (as a messed up pony) and the main reason I think the whole season 6 was her redemption season.
  8. 1. Cold water. 2. Beer (Stout and Porter mostly). 3. Hot Cappuccino.
  9. Ok, Rarity's worst characterization was probably at The Cart Before the Ponies, which was bad for all three big sisters (RD honorary at least). His best is at Canterlot Boutique, it shows most of her traits as a character in an amazing way.
  10. You forgot the gorgonzola cheese and Spike eating it with it's helmet on!
  11. I don't hate season 6, but it has more than the usual meh episodes and fewer ear-to-ear-smile episodes (for me anyway) than the other seasons.
  12. Spike was taken and replaced by the changelings. I think Maud is a given, tell her that Pinkie is in Danger and she'll turn the hive to dust with her bare hooves. And since Maud is going, boulder would be the 6th (with Maud's help he would've destroyed Chrysalis's throne as if it was made of sandstone). Seriously, 6 characters would've been too much for a two parter.
  13. I think that Twilight's ascension was Celestia's plan from the beginning, she was waiting for a young powerful unicorn to mentor into princesshood and Twilight was the one who met her expectations. Starlight, on the other hand, was an incredibly powerful unicorn who became a menace to Equestria by being lonely and fearful, Twilight's plan for her was to help her out of that misguided path so she could no longer be a menace but a positive influence to Equestria (same reason she was not punished). I don't believe that princesshood is her path at all. Now aside from my opinion about the show, I agree with everyone who's saying that it could happen by Hasbro giving the order so they can sell new alicorns. Cheers.
  14. Applejack is gorgeous, I love how she looks when she poses standing and crossing back her legs. Southern beauty FTW!
  15. Since even Celestia didn't know how to open the harmony chest and didn't know what was going to happen when it was opened, I'd like to imagine that the tree was planted by either Starswirl the Bearded or Celestia's and Lunas's parents to provide help to the sisters on their duty to run and glow the recently founded Equestria. The Cutie Map is just a product of the tree that help them more actively.
  16. I wouldn't get rid of any character, but I would definitely get rid of random Pinkie Pie appearances that give no substance at all. Example of bad random use of PP: in Honest Apple being a captain obvious and just passing the ball between protagonists without anything else to offer. She seems to have been used in the episode just because she's Pinkie and they needed some silly comedy.
  17. Mine would be "Call of the Cutie" as it is pretty much the antithesis of "Crusaders of the Lost Mark". CotC: AB is at ok terms with DT at the beginning, DT and SS bully her and Twist, she starts worrying sick to get her cutie mark ASAP, she pretty much ignored Twist's achievement and talent/destiny (because of her own issue), she pretty much asks anyone to help her getting her CM, at the party she meets the rest of the CMC and start their friendship based on their worries to get their CM and their dislike of DT. CotLM: CMC's start helping Pip in the hope of getting their CM, they get a little bullied by DT when they didn't get them, they forget their CM issue to try and check on DT, they actively help DT with her talent/destiny doubts, they befriend and end at ok terms with DT, they decided to stop worrying about their issue and start helping others with theirs.
  18. I only have my doubts about the quick acceptance of her apologies by the ponies of her old village. But overall I think it was well handled.
  19. Fair point and definitely on spot. But I think we can see what OP is really asking: "Will Spike's crush on Rarity ever end in the show?“. A long title for a topic to draw eyes IMO.
  20. I see the crush ending in the natural way this types of crushes end, with the kid growing up to teenage years and realizing how silly it really was. From the adult point of view, Rarity is handling it just fine showing him that she cares for him as a little brother. All this said, I don't think they'll address the issue at the show directly, maybe only in a "what happens in the future" epilogue episode but only as a logical context from what they really show.
  21. With all the highschool setting for the franchise and the hints that have been made with Flash and Timber, I think that pairings will be made on CHS but only if they spin off a series format. The movie format has little time to explore even some of the main characters (the humane 5 have barely been explored and most of their traits are just implied to be the same as the mane 5 from Equestria), that's why it's somewhat difficult to accept a pair on the same format. The series format however have just proven with a set of 3 specials that it can explore the characters of the humane 5 (being Rarity the one they chose for it). This is mainly because as a film they need a strong plot (which takes a lot of screen time just to set up a context) and an episode can be just slice of life or a longer plot which can be chopped into several episodes (giving enough screen time to set up romance). Now, about the possible pairings, my money goes to EQG only male characters such as Timber and Flash, although my guess is that they would all be new characters. Pairing up any of the humane 7 with a character that also exists in FiM would be a red alert for the main series, even if they explicitly separate both franchises. Greetings!
  22. Crusaders of the Lost Mark, love the characters, love the songs, love the whole DT redemption and love the milestone and how it was handled.
  23. Sweetie Belle without a doubt, although the fight for second would be pretty disputed between Scootaloo, Fluttershy and Luna.
