  1. What? No... ugh, listen. Cozy’s plan wasn’t to drain the magic from Equestria. That was just one of the steps to her plan, which was to become the “Empress of Friendship,” whatever the heck that means. It doesn’t matter how long it would take Celestia and Luna to get to the school, or how long it would take the main six to walk back. What matters is that we have three groups of people who all know the truth about Cozy and what she did. And all of them were working to stop/apprehend her. It doesn’t matter that. Cozy would have permenantly damaged Equestria, her plan is still a failure. She would never be the Empress of Friendship. She’d be forever on the run or locked in a cell.
  2. What does it matter that they don’t have magic? Cozy didn’t know they were coming and her plan was to take over the school and use it to make more friends than anyone. That plan is a total failure. She lost.
  3. What exactly is Starswirl going to teach her? Not only does she know more about friendship, but she also improved his own spells twice now. She doesn’t need him.
  4. Cozy didn’t win at all. Even if the Tree hadn’t saved everyone, Celestia and Luna were on their way to arrest her. The main six escaped from Tartarus. She didn’t outsmart everyone, not even close. She was just smart enough to be dangerous, but too stupid and arrogant to ever have a chance at success.

  6. It’s not a secret that the show has gone through some serious changes over the years, like an expanded world, expanded cast of characters, major character developement, improved animation, and a shift in overall tone. Are there any early episodes or premises (season 1-4) that you think would be improved if it was told in season nine instead, with all of the changes, new characters, and better animation available now?
  7. Hmmm... I’m not sure I would agree with this, and that’s coming from someone who thinks the 2nd half of the show is a huge improvement over the first. Seriously, I don’t know if even one episode of the first half would break my top ten, not becuase the early episodes are worse, but because I find much greater resonance and relatability from later episodes. Truthfully, the show became more complex, more drama and emotional driven in the second half, whereas the first half was much more simple Slice of life with much less continuity and significantly more self contained. And while the show was taking greater risks, with more drama and emotion, it was also having to deal with a shrinking pool of stories to draw from. Riskier storytelling and less material to work with leads to more duds.
  8. By Sugar Morning A really cute pic of my favorite show relationship.
  9. Off the top of my head, Uncommon Bond and Forever Filly are two episodes that deal with issues you’re more likely to face as you grow older.
  10. If a screen shot from the website is supposed to be proof, than Sunset Shimmer isn’t a main character. Welp, you heard it here folks, Sunset Shimmer is just another character, not a main one, like it or not.
  11. I couldn’t really speak to Applejack, but I know the Spike x Starlight ship gets attention becuase they both treat each other as equals, instead of Starlight treating Spike like Twilight’s pet baby dragon.
  12. Yes, it does. Nothing was retconned, it is entirely possible for a bratty child to be impressed by someone else’s bratty behavior. If anything, it makes it more believable that Diamond Tiara would accept Babs, because her Blank Flank bullying was becuase of an outside influence, not something she made up herself.
  13. I have a dog named Pepper. She’s a good girl, and my best friend. I just had to put her brother down a few months ago, and I still miss him.
  14. No offense, but you’re a self admitted late brony, but I was there all the way since season two. Any time Rarity did something remotely wrong, it was a full-on dogpile, especially when she did something that wasn’t “generous.” Sweet and Elite, Made in Manehatten, even Just for Sidekicks when Rarity gave Spike the smallest gem, anything and everything was an excuse to point out what a shitty person Rarity was. The drama was real, and it lasted until she had some highly positive character developement in season five.
  15. Hmm, that’s been an ever evolving question, and while there have been characters that have caused short term drama, like Twilicorn, Flash, or Starlight, I think Rarity is still the biggest example of a polarizing character. She had a very large group of haters for years, and it wasn’t until season five that that hate started to die down. While I don’t think Rarity is a polarizing character now, I still think she had the longest run of controversy.
  16. That pretty much sums up my feelings, there were very few duds, and nothing I found truly bad, but at the same time, very little really truly stood out to me either, despite how much I enjoyed the season as a whole.
  17. Well, the Tree said it itself, it is growing and gaining new abilities. It could just be that it can now channel it’s power through people other than just the Elements now.
  18. First, there’s a difference between, “I think Season six is the worst,” and “I don’t like Season six.” I do believe season sixis the worst season, but there are still many things that I like about season six. I just don’t think it’s high’s are better than it’s lows. But that’s just me, I’ve seen many people say they like Season six, even a few who rank it among the best.
  19. A pretty enjoyable finale, but was held back by two pretty big flaws: Cozy Glow is the worst villain in the show, and the needless focus on the main six in Tartarus (which actually makes Cozy even worse as a villain since they managed to escape on their own.) Cozy Glow was so terrible, I could make an entire rant post about her, and I probably will, but in short she was was delusional, idiotic, and incompetent. Not only was her plan doomed to failure, it wouldn’t have even worked if it wasn’t since the M6 escaped on their own. Her plan would have destroyed Equestria, and even if the main six hadn’t escaped, it still relied on the entire, now devastated, nation listening to and taking seriously, a (indeterminate age) filly. And the worst, the absolute worst part is, it was entirely unnecessary. There was no time limit or rush, Cozy could have grown up as Twilight’s student and “right hoof filly”, gaining knowledge not just about friendship, but leadership, earning the trust of everyone around her, until she had gained enough friends and “power” to make a realistic grab for power. Seriously, her plan involved having the most friends in Equestria, but how many friends had she really made? What exactly made her think that she was ready for this plan? Look at this, I even said I would rant somewhere else... There’s a few other flaws, like the “Oh no, the school’s going to be destroyed... oh wait never mind” moment, or the CMC’s flaccid involvement, but they don’t really effect the story like the big fails. Other than that though... The students were good, I liked the Main Six’s interactions in Tartarus, especially Pinkie with Tirek and Rainbow’s escape attempt. I liked Starlight’s role here, even if it’s pretty absurd that magically knowledgeable Starlight would get close enough to get trapped in an unknown magical swirling vortex. It was fun to see Cozy manipulate the school like she did in her speech. The end with the “graduation” scene was a nice touch. On the whole, an enjoyable episode, but it lacked the cohesiveness and high’s of other season finales. 7.5/10, certainly not the best, but still pretty enjoyable.
  20. Sympathy and relatability are overrated. You can’t write a dynamic and vibrant character while also have them be relatable and sympathetic to everybody, that’s not how people, and in turn characters, work. It’s far more important to write characters with realistic and consistent personalities. If you do that, then you have a unique character that people who find them relatable will be drawn to them.
  21. That was a part of the big 2017 leaks. Not only has nothing in there been confirmed by Hasbro, it’s all still subject to change. We’ll just have to wait and see.
  22. Yes, it did. Rockhoof mentions that ‘even Canterlot looks different,’ in Raockhoof and a Hard Place. So it existed before he was trapped in limbo, which happened before Luna was banished.
