  1. It was...alright. Not really my sort of thing, and Pinkie is one of those characters who I only get on with when she is...different, like in 'Party of One' or 'Its About Time'. Some of it was quite amusing, but the whole "FUN!" thing just got my goat. It was interesting to see a couple of the other Apples working with the barn raising thing; I still think foundations would be a great idea tho!
  2. "I'm not sure I believe me!" Applejack, that was cool and makes me smile even now! "Cool! A bowling cutie mark" Oh no, my quote is too short!
  3. I guess I was a bit unfair to Pinkie Watching it again last night, I could appreciate her humour more. I also saw the dark look that Luna gave to Twilight at the end, no doubt jealous/annoyed that everyone else got the glory and not herself.
  4. Well Applejack has been my favourite for her character. Twilight comes close sometimes, depending on how....freaky she is portrayed; freaky OCD Twilight is a no. But of my least favourite, it used to be Scootaloo who I abhored, but in season 2 she became a much better portrayed character and not my least favourite. Lesser-used ponies of course are lesser liked (Snips and Snails for the lose!) but of the main and secondary cast, I guess Sweetie Belle is in last place these days.
  5. Applejack's my favourite of the Mane Six and I was very pleased to see her get some great lines in the Season 3 opener! For beauty's sake I like Seafoam, and for the sake of purple Twilight is pretty pony, but of the six AJ is my favourite persona.
  6. That could have been excellent, but there were 3 flaws -1) Pinkie was ULTRA annoying! 2) Sombra was a bit....dull 3) that bloody song and it was reprised at the end! The other song, in the middle, was great. Applejack had some great lines. The joust between Rainbow and Fluttershy was epic. Twilight and Spike's quest worked very well. Cadence and Shining Armour actually had a good role for being in the story. Rarity and the hats was kind of amusing. Overall, I could only give it a 7, not least cos when the bloody song started up again I didn't even watch to the closing credits.
  7. The end of Summer 2011 is when I discovered ponies (thanks to John de Lancie's tweets and a Victoria II mod) and I was really depressed back then, and the ponies cheered me up, at least somewhat. I got really depressed this Summer again and the delay in starting season 3 didn't help but knowing that new pony episodes are coming has cleared some of it, brought me back here and given me something other than Ancient Aliens to look forwards to.
  8. A Seafoam (or whatever I'm supposed to call her now) fan? I'd be after art and clips and stuff! Not that I can see HOW I might meet such a fan, or know that I had met them... With my luck it would be like the uberdork who comes and bothers me from time to time finds out I'm a brony and suddenly WHAM! he admits it too and I'm cringing and trying to escape from his excessive behaviour!
  9. So that's why the female ponies were getting so excited about clocks? I read one fanfic which was excellent (My Little Metro) but never really got into the idea of reading loads, and just dipped into others here and there from time to time
  10. Stairs....there aren't many places where I need to walk upstairs actually. At one of my client's the stairs are very shiny wood so I walk VERY CAREFULLY so I don't slip and fall over. At another place the stairs are very narrow cos of the stairlift rail down one side so I er...walk upstairs rather carefully there too! At some friends, there are six cats who could be anywhere, and usually are, so I er walk upstairs quite carefully in case they're there or suddenly decide to be there... Hmm...seems I walk upstairs carefully, for a variety of reasons, when I have stairs up which to walk...
  11. Over a Barrel is my favourite stand-alone episode (ie not a 2 parter) I know I really dislike some of those that people seemed to love - the best pet one was awful, and baby cakes a complete waste of time! Scootaloo was a pain in the ass in the 1st series but turned it around in season 2 Half the episodes I could happily kick Pinkie in the head; the other half I'm on her side Twilight looks a dick with spectacles on The bloody owl should have been shot I like the train
  12. Oh, and the theme tune to 'Murder She Wrote' ! That's a good 'un! and 'Battle of The Planets' cartoon from when I was a kid Films - 'Kelly's Heroes' and 'The Italian Job'
  13. Well, I don't drive, but if I win the Lottery I will get a nice flash modern Bentley limo, a Jaguar XJS for fun, and a Winnebago....plus a couple of chauffeurs! As a kid I always wanted a Morris Marina estate. Later, I wanted an Austin Montego estate car and a Transit van like the A Team I used to want a sports car but after an almost vomit-inducing ride in a TVR I kind of went off them!
  14. Crusader Kings 2 playing as the Byzantine Empire was fiendishly difficult and drove me absolutely to distraction. All those damn relatives, wannabe relatives and ambitious usurpers trying to knock out my imperial power, generation after generation. Then the Muslims get in on the act! Gave up in the end...
  15. Ah, the late 1990s when if you wrote a story you had to save it to disc otherwise it filled up your 120 meg hard drive's remaining space... When Bill Clinton was president and the world was rosy When songs could say what we all might be doing in the year 2000 and it was something to look forward to, not back upon
  16. Martin Niemöller's famous "First They Came" - I can never remember it all, so I'll copy and paste it When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I remained silent; I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.
  17. I have little idea about US politics and little care. I know the big hitters and knew who Romney was, but I have friends on Facebook who continually talk about more minor politicians or commentators and I have no idea who they are. I don't know much about phones. I did own one with a camera once. But now I have simple phone and text only phone. I have no idea what an app is yet alone how you would use one. I know bugger all about superheroes, unless someone has coerced me into watching a film or series - in these cases, I thought Avengers was crap, Green Lantern was good and Arrow very good. If I have ever heard a Justin Bieber snog it has escaped my notice, and I had no idea who Adele was until she released the theme to Skyfall.
  18. Lupus

    movies/tv Favorite sitcoms?

Red Dwarf and Blackadder still retain a strong appeal I really like Outnumbered as much for them allowing the kids to ad lib as for the plot Was a fan of Friends and still enjoy it when I catch it Did like The Big Bang Theory but the recent series has been a disappointment
  19. Can you still speak French? Do I need to find 100 characters for this... Did you like Scootaloo's rainbow mane?
  20. Off the top of my head:- Doctor Who with David Tennant The original "V" of the 1980s Quantum Leap The original Battlestar Galactica Blakes Seven Deep Space Nine - the original had more delicacy, the spiced-up version had more oomph Airforce One Van Der Valk Dick Barton From posts above, I'd forgotten 'The A Team' and 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'! They've also reminded me there are:- He Man Dallas Mysterious Cities of Gold
  21. Depending on which of these you think is the weirder:- 1. Marmite and Lime Jam (jelly for you Americans) on toast 2. Marmite and chopped garlic on toast
  22. I have a pay-as-you-go Nokia that I use as a phone...it can also text! In addition, and very usefully, it has a flashlight function on it, most handy for putting the pay-as-you-go gas card into the meter in the dark!
  23. Unpopular opinions of mine... I think Tom Cruise is a great actor I dislike the trend of stick-thin women actors I don't like Andy Murray I didn't like the Avengers film I thought Green Lantern was a great film Do for a start!
  24. A lot of bias is the result of subtle state propaganda, which over time becomes less subtle, more overt and more strident, leading people think that this is the ONLY way to think. News reporters lose all objectivity and for example ONLY question politicians on why they are not being more harsh, more tough, more dictatorial, and never question the underlying assumption that this is how certain isues should be reacted to. Your moron down the bar who is spouting "String them up" rubbish is just someone who has taken in ALL of the propaganda thrown at him, not filtered it through any humanity or sanity, and is spouting the natural end result of the hate we are fed on a daily basis.
