  1. A lot of blues and whites it seems. Interesting, I wonder why that is? Anyways, I also got white, which seems to suit me well enough. I'll admit though, I sort of BS'd a couple of questions. For example, my favorite letter? How the hell would I know? (I think I just went with Q because I think that it's the most amusing letter) And what color I thought my aura was? I know absolutely nothing about aura colors, so again, how would I know?
  2. Oh yeah, absolutely. The most important thing is that they're obviously rarer than the standard variant. I also personally think that they look pretty cool, and I imagine that you don't have the problem of a potentially messy paint job on them. I'd never shell out the money for one though (partly because if I got one, it wouldn't be right until I had them all ). However, I do see where you're coming from. EDIT: My mistake, I just looked and depending on the pony, you can potentially get the sparkle variants for $27 (this tends to be the older ones, ie. RD and Derpy). However, some also seem to go for as high as $80. Note that I'm only using the 'Buy it now' prices, not the auctions.
  3. No!!! Don't send it back! Do you know how much those go for on Ebay? The cheap ones are $50. You could make good money off of an auction. In any case, I'm excited for them. It's been a while since they did Octavia and Vinyl, so I was afraid that they were going to stop.
  4. Mostly relevant: This is an interesting article that takes that question on from an interesting angle. Just as a warning: it's from Cracked, so it is likely to contain slightly more adult material, though I believe that this particular one isn't quite so bad from what I remember. You know, I sort of feel bad for the kid. Johnny-Bob Johnson from down the street could murder and eat an entire family, and that story wouldn't get half the coverage that this kid getting a DUI is.
  5. Not exactly like that, but close enough that I'm not surprised by this. For me, it just kept on popping up the 'Claim your prize...' until I had managed to acquire 70+ gems. It only happened once though, and I have a feeling that it was because this happened late on the night where Daylight Savings happened, so the game wasn't sure what to do with itself. There also used to be a glitch that you could exploit on Apple devices that did something similar, but that was fixed in a recent update.
  6. I have a difficult enough time with the thought of killing an animal. Even if I wanted to take the deal, I doubt that I could bring myself to pull the trigger (literally or metaphorically).
  7. I personally think that they're expensive, but they can also be beautiful. I understand why they're so expensive, but, for now, I'd rather not put out the money for one.
  8. I'm currently working as a QA intern right now for a company that manages several travel sites. I'll be going back to school next semester though.
  9. Derpy is still Derpy (namely because of the derp-eyes), however it is highly unlikely that she will ever be named or have a speaking role again. It would be really silly of the writers to try the same thing twice and expect different results. While I like Derpy, I believe that such an action would result in a similar nuclear meltdown and would be an overall unintelligent decision.
  10. Er... perhaps I'm in the minority, but I'm not sure that I really cared for this episode. It just felt... off. The characters in particular seemed odd, with the exception of Fluttershy for some reason... I liked the sort of sub-message of choosing not to choose isn't a choice at all, but other than that, I felt that it was pretty weak. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing Derpy again, Bulk Biceps was amusing, and seeing the three main Wonderbolts again is cool, but that doesn't make up for the fact that I found the story to be uninteresting. I don't think it's a bad episode, I just don't think that it was particularly good either.
  11. My disagreement with that statement knows no bounds. I like the beard! I've always wanted to try growing out facial hair, but I'd have no idea how to manage it, so I just stick with a clean shave.
  12. Al Capone + bathtub + rubber ducky *sadness ensues* I would have to strongly disagree with you there.
  13. My family has an outdoor cat who loves to play with pieces of hay and small rocks. We felt bad that that was all she had to play with, so at Christmas, we brought her a catnip toy. She was absolutely terrified of it.
  14. I think that I get what you mean; the transition between different themes, right? Yeah, I agree, that could probably use some work. Once again, thank you for the comments! And thank you as well! I did do the piano accompaniment, but it's really not as difficult as you might think, especially when you have a program that lets you just punch the notes onto a staff line and play them back perfectly. All that I really have to worry about is whether or not a pianist can physically play what I write. I agree with you 100%. I'm not very good at writing endings yet... I think that the only piece I've done that had a halfway decent ending is this really bizarre electroacoustic work that I'm not even sure if I understand. Again, I agree completely. Unfortunately, I can't make a live recording myself, and I don't know anyone else who could either... Oh cool! Don't get discouraged just because you're young; it's never too early to start! There's actually a pretty decent free music notation program out there called MuseScore, so I'd definitely recommend playing around with that. It's got a few bugs and its sound library is pretty lousy, but it's free, and that's the most important thing. Also, if your high school offers any music theory courses, go for it. Music theory is the root of composition, and while it's not technically necessary (I know a few people who can't even read sheet music, but still create really beautiful works) it is helpful (and interesting). Anyways, I appreciate the comments, and thanks again!
  15. Thanks! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Anything that you think could be improved? Personally, I don't really care for the ending; I feel that it comes very suddenly and doesn't really wrap up well. I also think that there should have been more space; as it is, it just ends up as five and a half minutes of constant noise. I suppose that I am my own worst critic though, so if you didn't find those to be a problem, then awesome! Once again, thank you!
  16. Equestria Daily is the place to go. They always have links to the uploads relatively soon after they've been posted. Each episode has an article called *Insert episode title here*- Streams and Discussion, and they'll be linked there. This one for example is for the most recent episode.
  17. The tears of the suffering shall finally give me the energy to break free of my prison! On that day, the world shall enter the New Age of Darkness. Um... I mean, yeah, sure, I'll buy some stuff from them.
  18. Oh, 958 for me. I guess I'm not as much of a stingy bastard as I thought I was. And screw the portal to Equestria, I shall spend every single one of those brohooves on bits. Once I have my 9580 pieces of entirely useless currency, I shall know true happiness.
  19. You know, as far as I've seen, cashiers won't do that. For one, as big as the fandom is, there are a large number of people who don't know that it exists. Two, many of them know that a question like that could cause the customer to become defensive, and pissing off customers is exactly what people in retail DO NOT want to do. So yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much. In fact, if a cashier does mention it, there's a pretty decent chance that they're a brony as well. (Don't quote me on that though, as I have no evidence to back that up.) On topic, yes, I have bought MLP merchandise, though I limit it to the comics (which I get at a local store) and the vinyl figurines (which I get online). I also got a couple little trinkets at CTcon as well as the Comic Con Vinyl Scratch, but those were special cases. It's fine for me because I only put them on display when I'm up at school, and tuck them away when I'm home, so my parents don't know about them.
  20. Are you male or female? Male. What age range are you in? 19 to 38. What is your favourite genre? Adventure/fantasy How often do you read? Twice a week. What style of English do you prefer? Both of these: Serious and direct. Witty and... not serious. What is it in a book that keeps you reading? Explain, please Interesting and tolerable characters because it's just what I find to be the most appealing part of a book. What is it that makes you pick up a book? Explain, please Usually a recommendation from someone else, because I don't want to go through the trouble of getting a book that I know nothing about and then not like it. What kind of beginning do you prefer? Explain, please Ones that give a decent introduction for the characters, because, again, the characters are what I read for. What kind of ending do you prefer? Explain, please. Something that makes sense, given the material preceding it. Deus ex machina is a nono. Overall, do you prefer an idealistic narrative or a cynical one? Explain, please. I find cynical to be more realistic, though I'm sort of a sucker for happy endings as well. Who is your favourite author? Explain, please. Eh, tough to say. I might have to go with Brandon Sanderson at the moment, though I've only read three of his books and those were technically just finishing a series that someone else started. He's very good at building a world and creating characters that both make sense and aren't overly annoying.
  21. You could even say that there's.... a dash of Dashie. Puns aside, you have an awesome collection!
  22. -I hate being late. You absolutely do not want to be around me when I'm running late, even if it's not technically my fault. To me, lateness is the eighth deadly sin. However, anyone else can go ahead and be late, and at worst I'll be slightly irritated. Myself being late is a completely different story. Because of this, I almost always aim to get places 15-30 minutes early. -Everyone in my immediate family has to wear glasses, yet I managed to be blessed with virtually perfect eyesight. -I HATE it when people press the 'close door' button in elevators. IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING PEOPLE!!! IT NEVER HAS AND IT NEVER WILL!!! It's only there for emergency operators. Luckily though, I'll never actually call someone out on this. I'll just mentally scream at them. -Whenever I carefully place some inanimate object so that it doesn't fall, I have to wait for a second, then pat the top of it twice (as though I were telling it, "Good boy!"). It's just something that I have to do. -I can be ridiculously obsessive when I want to complete something. When I was younger, I would sit for hours at a time putting together Legos (hell, I'd still do it if Legos weren't so damn expensive). A better, more recent, example, would be my recent playthrough of Pokemon Red. My goal was to fairly (for the most part; I didn't use the MISSINGNO glitch, but I did use the mew capture glitch (as well as a modified version of it to get pinsir and omanyte)) catch and train all 151 pokemon, and always keep them within 5 levels of each other. I had to catch everything in an area before moving on, as well as train them to the appropriate level. The internal game clock stopped counting 'hours played' after 255, and that happened around the 5th or 6th gym. -I have a pretty decent aural memory where music is concerned. If anything, I can usually tell if I've heard something before, if not cite exactly what it is, even if I just hear a few notes. For example, my sister and I were at a concert a few years ago, and while the orchestra was warming up, I heard nine notes from a trumpet, which got me excited because those nine notes were from the fourth tier/movement of Dancing Mad (one which isn't always played in concerts). That's all I've got for now. I might add to this later if I think of something.
  23. Oh my god, I love it! That's just so brilliantly brilliant! I've always wanted to make an EDH deck around Kumano, and that's just perfect. I hope you don't mind if I steal borrow the whole Kumano+deathtouch idea. Oh, and here's a brief list of my decks. I only play EDH at this time because the other formats baffle me. GW- Rhys, the Redeemed: It's an elf deck, and easily my best deck. It functions like one would think that an elf deck should: make a metric shit-ton of elves and squash people with them. It also has a sub-theme of having obnoxious amounts of mana. Buried in there is a combo that lets me infinitely untap my elves and my lands (Wirewood Lodge + Argothian Elder + any land that taps for 2+ green mana). It's a fun little thing that I get to pull off every so often, which makes me happy. Another bonus of this deck is that it's one of the only two that I have that actually have all of the cards (there are a bunch of proxied cards in the rest) so it's only of the only tournament legal decks. BW- Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter: The only deck I have that doesn't use green. I'd also say that it's probably my weakest deck, though it is very fun to play. It's main win condition is making big creatures, feeding them to Vish Kal, and then swinging in for general damage. There's also a tribal vampire sub-theme. My favorite combo there would have to be Vish Kal + Blade of the Bloodchief, which means that I can instantaneously melt every single creature with 2 or less toughness. GRB- Adun Oakenshield: This one was a tribute to my first ever deck, which was GR Kamigawa spirits. Naturally, it's spirit tribal with an emphasis on being able to recycle almost everything that hits my graveyard and having a silly amount of effects go off just for playing a spirit. It's a very fun deck to play, but it's also very frustrating trying to remember all of the effects that go off simultaneously... GRW- Marath, Will of the Wild (but I always call her Mary Sue): It's not too much different from the pre-made version of the deck. It's basically just stomping people's faces in with beasts. It's also the only other deck I have where I actually own all of the cards. When I got the deck, I didn't think that it would be so fun to play (I mostly got it for the Wrath of God, Command Tower, Opal Palace, and Tempt With Discovery), but it is! It's ridiculously fun to repeatedly kill off Mary Sue just so I can cast her again but bigger.
  24. Oh! Oh! Let me try, I think I can figure out what it is! It's... um... it's... well... I'd say that it's most definitely..... I've got nothing. I think I see a heart and a pear (and a signature), but that's it. Evidently, I'm not a part of the exclusive club of people who can recognize it. I like you're art though! Have you put up anything in Octavia's Hall? (I wouldn't know if you did; I rarely ever go there...)
  25. I didn't think of it that way but now that you mention it, it makes sense. I mean, he is one of the most well-known bronies out there, so it's not exactly an obscure reference.
