What if hasbro made a colt version of mlp

I think it would be a good idea considering most of the fandom are male and more world building for mlp and there would be WAY more NOTABLE colts in the series and a colt6 could be great for shipping (if your in to that kind of thing) but what are your thoughts dear reader put your in opinion down below

Not interested. Hasbro has always marketed MLP as a "girls franchise", and even if Hasbro did make an MLP spinoff for males, it would probably a cheap tactic to boost ratings. Plus, Lauren Faust wanted to make a girl's show with non-stereotypical leads, and I wouldn't want to ruin her dreams if someone told me to turn all mares into stallions.

While you're right about the world building thing and notable stallions, I still think it's a bad idea. -3-

Personally, I think they have to do a gender bent pony episode. That would be so rad. But... An entire series dedicated to it? No thanks. There's no need. The show doesn't need to make a spin off just to appeal to boys, bronies are proof of that.

If at all there is any spin off series I desire that involve mainly colts and stallions than it would be a show featuring both Big Mac and Braeburn. I feel the adventures the cousins could have would just be fun. Other than that I feel that the show does not need too many stallions. Much like in real life, the ratio for stallions to mares show that there are more female then males anyway meaning the show currently having more female characters actually makes sense.

Maybe if they had an episode kinda like the Bridal Gossip I think is the one, where they all have a weird effect. But they are all turned into stallions and they have to find the spell to turn them back or something. And then we get Flutterguy again.

If the character's genders were swapped and made into it's own show It just wouldn't have the same charm to me.

But, it also makes me curious on how the writers would go about these new changes for a season.

That would be awesome because then I could watch the colt CMC on Tv and finally see Bubble Berry in action :) it would be alot more amusing to me plus I could watch it whenever my dad's at home without holding the remote, also I would get ponies without cutting their manes, this would be so awesome.

I don't think this is going to happen, considering the target is young girls. It just clicks easier for young girls, you know?

However ...I'd still watch it. The characters' genders don't really bother me. The only condition would be that it'd be just as good as this show!

(edited)

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is not about providing yet another show full of developed male characters (if you want that, it's almost everything BUT FiM, you know?), and the MLP fandom is not dominated by guys.

I mean, not really meaning to call YOU out specifically (you probably meant no wrong), but... world building? Funny how if this was the reverse (a male-centric series with somebody asking for non-sexualized women character representation) it would be instantly shot down as "forcing diversity".

FiM is about showing girls that there are many ways to be a girl and that none of them are wrong, it isn't about the guys. And while guys are free to watch and enjoy this show, you must never expect this franchise to cater to you, otherwise you are actually stealing the show, and this show is special. Leave it alone.

It just doesn't seem right. Not a good idea. Hasbro's still aiming this at little girls, you know. Leave that stuff to Adventure Time and Ice King's fictional stories.

Honestly I'd only have 1 stallion join up with the mane 6 but even that's pushing it, if you wan't a story in the mlp world with a male lead then check out some fanworks, it usually has a lot of male leads in it.

I'd just prefer if it was a mix of both male and female characters like in Avatar with each character being able to look after themselves.

A samurai pyromancer? That's a bit overpowered.

I've actually worried about them trying something like this at some point, like with a spinoff or even a later gen due to G4's massive popularity with guys.  I dearly hope not, though.

The idea in and of itself is fine and tame enough, especially if the other show had a somewhat different art style that made the colts as potentially charming design-wise as the fillies and mares in FiM; let's face it, with the possible exception of a couple like Braeburn (largely due to his hair and bubbly personality), the stallions in FiM just plain aren't quite as well-designed and overwhelmingly charming as the female ponies.  But even then.. well, MLP as a franchise is very focused on catering to and appealing to girls first and foremost, always has been, and always should be; girls' entertainment tends to be pretty lacking compared to boys', and between Gen 1 starting a good trend and Gen 4 bringing it back in great force, far greater than ever before, while still *being made with girls in mind*, that's not something that should be changed.  Even if a lot of us are guys and some part of us would feel more comfortable and happy with a show that's got guys in mind, too, just think of it this way: think of ALL the ZILLIONS OF AWESOME THINGS for boys and men we have enjoyed highly in our lives, and how many girls have wanted to enjoy those same things but have been made fun of or even bullied or called horrible things for trying to be into, while the stuff made 'for them' has paled in comparison on many levels.  They *deserve* this and it's our turn to sit back and be the outliers, no matter how many of us there are, proudly enjoying something 'meant for girls' and dealing with all the bullying and crap we get in their stead for once, ever.

All that said though, I really wouldn't mind if more male 'important secondary characters' are introduced, future episodes focus on male characters like Big Mac, Shining Armor or Discord, or god forbid we get some good Spike episodes for once... or even if a future iteration of ponies like G5 had one or two main male characters.  Again, though, I'd want them to have a better design than the current one with the big honkin' brick-shaped snouts with the kinda strangely-placed eyes and stuff.

Besides, an MLP cartoon that doesn't focus on female characters would be like a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thing that didn't focus on turtles.  Wait... what?  What did you say...?  THEY'RE NOT TURTLES IN THE NEW MOVIE, BUT ALIENS?  ARRRRRRRRRGH!!!!

Do not want. A show where all of the mane characters are stallions wouldn't have the same charm to me, and it's fine the way it is, it doesn't need to be guy-ified.

The phrase "Friendship is Magic" would take on less of a cutesy tone; if people thought that watching mlp made us gay when it was girls, you'd never hear the end of it now. Hasbro would redesign the show to sell to boys, with more masculine ideas in mind; slice-of-life is out of the window since your cast is all dudes. Most of the touching moments in the show would dry up overnight for the same reason. Essentially, My Little Pony would turn into Transformers, or the 4 season version of that fight scene at the end of Twilight's Kingdom.

For marketing reasons Hasbro may make a new toy line with the same toy concepts from MLP but aimed for guys, probably with weapons and vehicles. Just as Mattel did with Max Steel, it's the same doll concept and design from Barbie but with vehicles and weapons.

I feel like this is just another thread showcasing brony entitlement.

Bronies are not owed anything by Hasbro. I'm sorry, but we are not that special. We're just fans. That's it. We're no more significant than the 6 year old girls who watch the show.

The idea that some people in the fandom think that they are so entitled that the entire scope of the show should be changed (or, in this case, that a whole other show should be added) is silly. Love MLP for what it is: a feminine show with strong, female characters. If you can't handle it, don't watch. Making a "male equivalent" would just defeat the whole purpose of the show, the fandom, and what we stand for.

Maybe they could introduce Discord as a mane character and he starts doing more stuff with them, more than the occasional episode where he fucked with them.

a feminine show
Sorry, but I have to do this. It's law.

Oh right, because girly shows dealing with magic NEVER had fight scenes before MLP... /sarcasm

Sorry, it's hard to tell! Many people actually argue with me using that as their counterpoint. Like, all the time.

Okay, I wasn't trying to start an argument. When I do something like that it is usually for some fun. But when i'm serious i'd probably say.
