Were you afraid of flu shots? When I was little, I used to dread going to the doctor because of them. One time when I was about to get one, I tried to run out of the building but my mom caught me at the front door. Tell me your story below.

Only reason I ever avoided flu shots was because I would get the flu when I got the shot. I dont really mind shots as long as im not looking at the needle, I have to turn my head and think of something random.

Yes I was when I was younger. My heart used to race a lot during the day of my flu shot.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Flu shot weren't really a thing when I was little, though I certainly didn't like shots. I remember a booster shot giving me a limp for a few hours once. I was probably exaggerating it, but I certainly remember that one sticking with me for a while.

I apologize, and may warn you that I've been known to yell at anyone who makes grammar mistakes, but isn't that the wrong "We're" in your title? It should be "Were"

Oh, and no. I wasn't.

This is by far the most insane and creepy thing I've ever heard from someone on this forum.

It's actually not as bad as it sounds. They only extract the blood to get the Plasma part. The rest goes back in your body. Sorry for scaring you. ;)

I knew that, but still. Anemia doesn't scare me. The fact that you don't mind having a needle stabbed into you siphoning your blood off (whether it goes back or not) is just odd.

I do a good thing for humanity. Many people with heart diseases need plasma based medication. I really don't mind much and i don't feel really bad after it.

Oh, I was so terrified of needles.  I guess in a way I still am but from donating blood and having to get a shot once a month at one point, I sort of mellowed out.

Needles used to be a big problem, I'm pretty sure I attacked the nurse trying to give me a jab once  ^_^ I was like 4 though...

How I feel when I know I have to get a shot.

post-25040-0-00612400-1426556253.jpg

It's not what was inside of the shot I was afraid of, but the needle that seemed giant on the end.

I hate needles even to this very day. Whenever I got any types of shots in my arms when I was a kid, I felt like I was going to pass out. Now I sweat and get really nervous.

I never got the flu shot. I never even gotten the flu even when I was around my family while they had it... Though it's not like I'm anti-vaccine or anything. I don't have any fear of needles when done by someone who knows what they are doing. (I won't let a random person put needles in me.)

I am actually wanting to give myself a shot every week or two weeks very soon. (Hormonal reasons)

I used to hate needles and I would avoid it, but having gotten older and remembering how much having the flu sucks, I get my flu shot every year as soon as they're available.  I still don't like needles, but I'm used to them now.

I am a full on trypanophobe, I am terrified of epidermic needles. I was then and I am now. I'm fine when I go to the doctor's office but the imminent threat of injection can send me into jitters and hysterics. Not that I try to hurt the doctor or run away, but I start talking faster, shaking, breathing faster, and otherwise have a fight or flight reaction.

I once had a nightmare as a kid that I was being chased by an enormous cat. One made of needles. Again, not just pointy things but actual epidermic needles. It's claws, it's teeth, every line of fur, even the slits of it's eyes had needles in them!

I have a loose auto-psychoanalysis theory that it's a deep phobia of helplessness. I've studied the martial arts for a good long while of my life, even when I was young. I've always loved superheroes. So I theorize that even in the face of danger, even in the face of fear, I could face it as long as I was able to physically resist it, to fight back. You can't fight the doctor when he or she is giving you a shot, that's how you get better, and I'm more or less willing to submit to this. That has to be it then, it's making myself vulnerable, choosing not to fight back is my fear.

For some credibility, this does handily explain my distaste for the entire horror genre. The protagonists aren't heroes, they're victims.
