Well /mlp/ was ButtHurt when Lyra and Bon-Bon said that they were just "friends" lol!

But other than that it seems fine

I'm not one who actively seeks evidence of couple relationships in MLPFIM universe, but I think of all shippings done Lyra and Bonbon is closest to being canon. No, they didn't outright indicate couple relationship, but I think those who worked on this episode wanted to leave that question open. Whether Lyra and Bonbon are couples highly depends on how one interprets "best friends"; I think both interpretations of them being a couple or simply friends work.

By the way, episode aired and fandom still exists.

Wait, is this fandom now creating Post-Ep.100 Doomsday theories? I'm not amused.

Overall, this was a decent episode. Some things were off (really off), but it was a nice fanservice episode. Not the best of its kind, but still well done.

It was over the top and one could argue this episode was terrible. However I think it's clear that they approached this episode very differently; it wasn't meant to be taken seriously and they probably will never make an episode like this again (or at least not in long time), but I'm happy that they made this episode as it is.

You only liked it because of the immense amount of shipping.

Yees, finally the episode happened...

It was fine, I think.

Lots of Ponies talked (Except Button Mash :C  ), which was the highlight of the episode...

The Doctor said that "Allons-y" thing,

Derpy.....

It did seem a bit short to me, though.

(also, income the shippers. let us pray that we may survive~)

I think some fan headcanons have been destroyed with the 100th episode. I can smell the butthurt already. No skin off my back, though.

I like how DHX shot down not one, but two ships during the 100th episode. First, and the most obvious one being Lyra and Bon Bon being just best friends, rather than lesbian horses, since the friends thing is stressed repeatedly. The second ship shot down was the Derpy and Doctor Hooves one, which was a bit more subtle. It's made VERY clear, though, that there's no romantic feelings between he and Derpy, because if there were, the Doctors' fireworks would've went off, like they did, ignited by love, from Cranky and Matilda. But they didn't go off with the Doctor and Derpy. Take that shippers. XD

on another note.......wonder if we'll see Dr Hooves doing sciencey-things with Bill Neigh, soon.

I'm surprised how they handled the headcanons in this episode by either reinforcing, a slight nod, hinting, or simply not touching it at all. I expected some of them to be wrecked, but nope, no headcanons destroyed  :P

Very interesting episode.

Derpy, or "Muffins" as Hasbro calls her, did speak again. And she's an interesting character too. She has friends and wants to help them out when she can.

Time Turner has an interesting voice too. His character is amusing.

Lyra and....Bon Bon. Hasbro used that name now and then she said that she's also known as her former merchandise name, Sweetie Drops. I like how their relationship is. It's very close and it's exactly how it should be. Of course it won't be shown as anything more than that. Fans can interpret it further as they wish. In the show itself, I think it was handled well.

Steven Magnet....I didn't think I would see that guy again. Then he cuts his own mustache to help someone instead of the other way.

Octavia and Vinyl....they have an established friendship now. Roommates even. It should amuse the fans that saw them in that light in the past. Too bad Vinyl didn't speak but I guess it's official that she doesn't? I wonder how it works in Equestria girls?

It was great to see a lot of past characters come. I would have liked for Trixie to appear or the Rainbow Key holders. Babs seed too.

The story was nice to work with too.

Fandom can't possibly be destroyed by all that. Improving our knowledge of the characters should have been done interspersedly throughout the series but this episode is still a good addition.

Wait, what's all this business about the fandom being destroyed by the episode? Did one of the mane six die or something?

Otherwise, this speculation, or whatever you want to call it, seems ridiculous. From what I gathered from this thread, it just develops some of the background characters. If that's enough to make you leave the fandom, then you're taking your headcanon wayyyy to seriously.

I'm curious to see this episode now, though.

Just a reminder for today's 100th episode of MLP:FiM...The fandom and the headcanons on this show will NOT be destroyed. Agreed?

I seriously think you should change your vote options to say "Yes, the Fandom's going to be fine" or "No, The Fandom is Doomed" because the question in the actual poll says "Will the fandom NOT be destroyed?" and it might confuse and throw voters off of their intended vote who might actually think the question is "Will the fandom be destroyed?" (The opposite of your question).

Anyway, I say "Yes, the Fandom is going to be fine."

They handled this episode really well. As you can probably tell by my new avatar, I'm a huge supporter. It was a great time for the fandom, only thing it may have hurt was aaa couple ships. It's all good :toldya:

I loved the episode.  I see no reason for anything to be destroyed.  And if any character acted in a way that displeased you, BAM.  Changeling.  Yup, that's my new thing.  Anytime something happens that you don't like, you can just assume that that character was a changeling, and no one can disprove you.  Problem solved.

Incidentally, I almost entered the wrong answer in the poll.  I was expecting it to say, "Will the fandom be destroyed", to which I would answer, "no".  Had to double check.

It's obvious that nothing has happened, at least yet, but I would go further and say that the notion of the fandom being destroyed by one episode is just hyperbole.

Not sure how a tribute to the fandom could destroy it really. If anything it should strengthen the bond even more between the fans and the show.

I personally think that this was the whole point of the episode.

The MLP staff has always had a much closer bond with their viewers than any other show that I'm aware of.  I think that episode 100 was just their way of expressing their gratitude towards the fanbase.

My headcanons weren't destroyed.... except one. I had a headcanon where Gummy was a deep thinker. It's no longer a headcanon because it's canon. Vinyl being a mute is still a headcanon of mine because it wasn't confirmed. So this episode didn't make me leave the fandom. Some people hated it because it's fan service. Hasbro should stop doing stuff for other people. In fact, everyone should stop doing stuff for other people because people don't like that.

It was freaking awesome.

The doctor just said ALLONS-Y while wearing a scarf. After the fireworks exploded he screamed "HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS EARLIER?"

It was awesome. Not to pick nits though, but after the flame-less fireworks exploded, the Doc exclaimed:

"Of course! They need love to ignite! How could I have missed it?"

That sort of hints that the Doctor doesn't love Derpy. If he did, they would have ignited when she was in his laboratory. So there's one headcanon shot down. I liked how he was more Dr. Emmett Brown, than a Timelord. Derpy even called him Doc, like Marty did all through the movies. "Great Wiggling Stallions" was an odd replacement for "Great Scott" though. It sounds vaguely dirty.
