What kind of creatures would you want to see in Equestria?

We have seen things like dragons, griffins, hydras (sorta), and even manticores. What kind of monster would you like to see the show have a take on? For me, I'd like to see there take on the jabberwocky from Alice in Wonderland.

Mermares, or Kelpies (although sea ponies may cover this). A genie would be fun to see competing with Discord. A centaur or a Satyr would be a fun gag and could make things awkward for Twilight. A sphinx could be interesting. A jackalope or a Sasquatch could make an interesting Fluttershy episode.

I'd like to see golems. And not humanlike golems, but golems in either an equine shape or a more beastial design, to give Equestrian golems their own flavor.

 

I WOULD have liked to have seen vampires that drain the magic from other unicorns, but Tirek already took that role and they'd be redundant.

 

I'd like to see a wolpertingle as a creature that fluttershy ends up trying to find and finding adorable, kind of like orthros was just a "Normal" magical creature in the world and not really special.

 

After that, I think The black schluck would be kind of a nice darker addition, and the gjengar would be a good adventure plot villain due to it spreading disease by its mere presence.

The bull part mainly comes from how there's a "Absolutely no humans in equestria" rule. So tirek's human half had to be more animalish. Kind of like how aramaspi was a goat giant creature instead of just a cyclops because that'd be humanlike.

Dread beast of the deep that the Hippocampi of the sea ask the mane six to help them fight! (only its all a trick, as the hippocampi secretly plan to offer hte mane six as a sacrifice to Colthulu for being left alone, only to learn a valuable lesson about friendship!
And yes that's very similar to the samurai jack episode with the fish people)

Yeah, definitely.  Even though they're canon very little is known about them.  Bat ponies only appeared in a single scene in that one episode but they were also mentioned as being a part of the 100th episode before they were cut out.

I want the creative team to reach far and wide to bring in all manner of creatures from myths, legends and folklore from across the world!

 

In particular, I'd like to see Sleipnir, the 8 legged horse of Norse Mythology voiced by Chris Hemsworth

 

Also, an episode where the Mane 6 Team up with The Monkey King/Son Wukong/Goku, hopefully voiced by Sean Schemmel, though someone who's voiced in in the Blue Ocean dub(s) is a little more likely and to be expected.

 

And is it okay to want creatures than have appeared in the IDW comics, even if they're completely different? (like the Jackelopes)

Beyond the above I can't recall any elementals being in the show. If there haven't been any fae, ents, or trolls those could add flavor to MLP, especially if the trolls spoke trollspåk.

I'm 100% certain they'd draft Ian Corlett for that role considering that he not only voiced Goku in the original Saban dub of DBZ but he's also the father of Claire Corlett, Sweetie Belle's voice actress.

 

Anyway, back on subject, I'd also like to see more being done with the crystal ponies.  Like the bat ponies, they are canon but there's been little background information supplied regarding them.  For instance, what causes them to become crystallized?  What effect does crystallization have on them?  The Mane 6 were all crystallized after King Sombra's defeat so it can't be a natural condition so much as a magically induced one.  Some info regarding this phenomenon would be great.
